- My 300zx project car has come a long way in the past month. We managed to turbo the ka24de with a G30-660 Garrett paired with an Artec Manifold. Then we powder coat a spare subframe and installing new bushing and arms. After visiting a friends dream garage set up, the z32 build left with a fresh corner balance and alignment. Now we take care of some macitence and help Tim with his G35 build.

The G is sounding way better then before. personally I want to get a z1 touring catback exhaust with a resonator for my 350Z. I like the sound clips they have posted on their channel.
Z1 has got to be one of the nicest sounding exhausts for the VQ! great choice

The cheap small hand pumps for oil bottles are super handy, you can put a flexible hose into both ends of the pump for flexibility and also use it for removing fluids from power steering reservoirs and such.

Fun fact! PTFE or Pipe thread tape doesn't actually seal anything, it was designed for tapered pipe threads which seal on the thread taper and allows you to get a little more engagement. Because the tape is Teflon and has a low coefficient of friction, its actually classified as a lubricant to stop threads galling from contact.

One little trick for pumping fluid into a diff, or haldex, or transmission etc, is to poke a little hole in the cap where you can jam in a hose that you then route to the fill hole. Then poke a hole in the bottle big enough for an air compressor nozzle, then slowly throttle the air to force it to flow through the hose in the cap. Just be careful with airflow as if you go too much at once, the bottle will explode lol

You'll need to get a rubber pad between the jack and the car so the paint stays protected. Because the rear subframe looks a mint🔥
They make adapters for 3in exhausts to adapt a standard flange to work with a donut flange. I have one made by grimmspeed on my Subaru. I’m sure they make something very similar for vq’s
We would take and roll up magazines to stick between the jack stands and the car to protect paint/coatings.
I have a new appreciation for the g37 sedan I dig Tim’s car and never realized how rare of a spec his car is. Very cool.

Fun hack for removing old control, arms or ball joints before you break it loose from the conical seat just trim the cotter pin flush, hammer a socket onto the castle nut, and impact it off it'll just shear the cotter pin like its not even there.
That way you don't have to worry about hammering cotter pins out.
If you are reusing the ball joint for whatever reason it's very easy to drill the cotter pin out of a balljoint once it's separated from the knuckle.
It’s insane how much better an RB sounds.
I use 90-140w in VLSD it helps it lock up more consistently once hot.

The G is just like my A8 which is a luxury car I'm quite surprised that a g has the electric steering wheel and the same seat thing tim puts his phone in lol

All you guys have too much fun - I'm jealous 😉. I'm an older guy of ** - won't say that right now, but to give you a hint my first car was a "Vauxhall viva estate hc" from GM in the UK. It was painted in beige with a brown plastic interior. On a hot day it would smell like burning plastic inside. Just Google this car name and see the pictures - it was horrible.

Hey dude just a heads up, Harbor Freight sells a ball joint seperator tool I used to pull those cones off my stock ball joints (06 G35). Its about $20 but absolutely worth it not not use the aftermarket ones the new ball joints come with.

I recommend a air hammer with the punch or also called drift punch attachment for stuck or rusty cutter pins , comes out every time 😅

U should try the power steering pump trick put a pipe in the bottle and one in the diff and spin the pump and it pumps it in 😂 did it once or twice and it worked ngl
