Pure talent! Heavenly musicality!! Solid technique!!! You deserve to win, you know!? May God open you lots of doors out there! We're so proud of you. Greetings from Cameroon 🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲
I have tears on my eyes. Such a divine voice, such an angel that has descended to earth to the glory of beauty and everything that is good in humankind. I know that opera has received a very strong impulse in South Africa and here are the results.
She has such a pleasant and imposing voice, it's a really rich and colorful sound, and she sings with excellent musicality and tasteful expressiveness. Surely a great talent with a great career ahead just like her sister (she is perhaps even more gifted!). I won't claim she had to win, but I'm totally sure she deserves to be heard in the international opera stage. So young and already singing like a mature performer.
Her choice of repertoire for the finals did not showcase her strongest elements and her incredible musicality. she had the potential to win this but the repertoire let her down.
@@markemark255 LOL!!!! Yes there are two of them.. Her Sister is one of the biggest stars of Opera. I'm sure you've looked her up by now. In case you haven't "Pretty Yende"
Return to this performance again and again. Such exciting artistry and innate finish and sense of purpose she has. I hope to see her perform in person one day.
Как красива женщина в искренних переживаниях. Ни слова о расизме, мне просто не привычные африканские лица, в России их мало. Но я вся в ней, я вся с ней.... И она прекрасна
Keep in mind that to know exacly the size of the voice you must stay present when the person sings. To judge via youtube it's a bit dilutional. The voice is huge when it can pass the orchestra above. I would have loved to be present when she sang Boheme.

gorgeous voice! my impression the last time i saw pretty at the met opera (in pêcheurs de perles) is that pretty has lost some of the bright silveriness and lightness of the voice. i don't know if it's temporary or not, but let's hope nombulelo can keep the bloom and beauty of her voice for a long time.
Beautiful crystalline upper register... that said the lower voice and middle are weak and jittery. As a high lyric soprano she needs to even out those other registers. And open the sound and deepen it as it sounds at times a bit restricted and those things come with maturity.
I don’t think that the jaw movement is tension, I think that it is because she is relaxed and does not have any tension in her face, she lets it do what it will rather than creating tension by holding it.
@@mrslucibel totally agree. Lots of singers' jaws shake when they sing. For such a young singer I think she's definitely heading in the right direction. She's fantastic
@Jacques Wieciech I find your comment slightly offensive and discriminatory. Opera doesnt ask where one comes from nor is it relevant if the district you come from is rural or not. Once you get out on stage in a competition like this you get judges just like anyone else, completely without prejudices of origin and social background. I dont agree with Madame Heinz's technical analysis but that cant be challenged based on the social background of a singer . Many musicians all over the world come from rural backgrounds - that is really NOT a factor that should ever play a role in the ability of an artist (or for that matter the ability in ANY profession) Singing is inherently part and parcel of black culture in South Africa and most S African black singers' Italian sounds a lot better than any Anglo Saxon counterparts.
@Jacques Wieciech I dont get your point. They traditionally dont listen to it in rural parts of the USA either. They dont even traditionally listen to it in China or Korea either and nevertheless many opera singer have hailed from these countries or parts of the USA.

I love the voice of this sublime singer! Thank you very much, Madame! God bless you!
Que bella, por fin una soprano dramática de verdad, éxitos en tu carrera
So many stunning voices coming out of South Africa these days. The classical seed planted so long ago in that country is bearing fruit.
Sometimes the imperfections make it just perfect! I love that its so raw and human wow! ❤ truly a voice blessed by God
Pure talent!
Heavenly musicality!!
Solid technique!!!
You deserve to win, you know!?
May God open you lots of doors out there!

Stunning performance. Such grace and maturity at such an early age. Brava Nombulelo!
Marvelous voice and she really feels what she is singing. Very moving!

Homoclassicus I thought the gift was more endowed in her as well, she still has some ways to go though. But what a gift

Who is her sister?? OMG there are two of them?!?!?!?!?

I didn’t know pretty had a sister! Woooow!!! Doesn’t talent run in the family

I dont understand how she is not winner?!
like I see a lot of people who say the same thing, I feel this way too, she didn't even get 3rd place
Que expresiva!!!!!
When someone says “my voice is too big for baroque...” I just think “yeah, alright... 🙄”...
Now I can send this video as well...
fr thooo
Ok...You right!

Don't believe them! Sing your big heart out!
The size of the sound has nothing to do with the expression of the song, the people who say this do not understand vocal music at all
Magnífica voz. Excepcional...
gift from god
Умница! Всю душу и сердце вложила в исполнение арии Альчины Желаю успехов ❤

Su canto llega al alma, que hermosa voz,que hermosa interpretacion. Mereces ganar.
WOW !!!!
oh...My......G O D ! ! !
I'm gonna call it. She will be much greater than her sister. So young and can still improve.
Is Pretty Yende her sister? I think she's gonna be better
I love her quality better honestly. Pretty is okay but it’s her true calling.
Why are we always comparing opera songstresses, even between sisters now. Cut it out please
Like Venus and Serena lol
🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤❤
Bellas voces
❤❤❤
Divino Haendel, perdonali ...tutti!
She is a goddess ❤
WOW ❤
Ma bisogna poi vedere il resto dell'Alcina...

I like her voice better than her sister's!
The first note is a rasp, and her jaw shakes constantly from tensions, and people are praising her technique... What's going on?
I don’t think that the jaw movement is tension, I think that it is because she is relaxed and does not have any tension in her face, she lets it do what it will rather than creating tension by holding it.
