A demanding and very difficult aria for which only the most accomplished can undertake. It's also a spectacular aria in the grand tradition. Miss Nilsson sings it with refinement, finish, and with perfect vocal control. She has the potential to be a world beater soprano in the grand condition. One hopes that she improves and grows even more accomplished in her gifts. But on this basis of this aria alone, she's got everything going for her. If she can commend this aria, she can command just about anything written for Dramatic Soprano. Brava!

What power and incisiveness! Absolutely magnificent! This is an aria that few can manage convincingly and Christina Nilsson certainly can. She made me think of the other great Nilsson!
I really like this--very easily taken: would like to see more drama in your body language/facial expression, more immediacy, if you will. You have what it takes all around for this brutal type of singing, and you are right not to darkly color the voice.
A very difficult aria to bring off well. Most of the first part is quite Wagnerian(Wagner admired Weber) and the end is lyrical, verging on Coloratura.So,no wonder it is not sung much nowadays!
Sounds perfect for lighter Wagner as Elsa, Elisabeth, Freia and Eva. She is still young and has a beautiful lyric timbre and fabulously easy top! A little too nasal ”in the mask” though.

Man vergleiche sie mit ihrer schwedischen Namensvetterin Birgit Nilsson - stimmliche Größe, Einfachheit in der Linienführung, Tonführung durch den ganzen Körper, Kraft und Eleganz - dahin kann Christina noch kommen, wenn sie ihre schöne Stimme nicht zu früh mit solch schweren Arien verbraucht.
Dear tenore, I'm sorry to say that this is the standard today. I find it amazing that people praise these shrill, ugly, wobbly voices, if these voices are considered the future than opera is truly dead.
This voice is tinyyyyyy super small!!! No resonance, no cream, no olive oil, no weight, just tiny shrill sound my goodness!!!! She is also TOO BIG for her age. People confuse big singing with being fat. But singers like Nilsson and Flagstad were rocking a very tiny waist in all of their concerts and careers!!! Nilsson was big boned but slender!

Originally this aria was made for a lirico-spinto but this sounds way too demanding to be for a lyric-dramatic soprano

Those top notes are too open and I imagine she'll have difficulty with them as she ages if it isn't corrected.

She has a small weak voice but she doesn’t even engage what she has using mostly 30% of this small voice
