The original 1990s Blade film is still one of the greatest comic book adaptations they've done. Far superior to the more bland and childish superhero films that are made now. Wesley Snipes was perfectly cast.👍

Blade explained it in the movies quite clearly that he is a daywalker/ half vampire. He isn't effected by sun light while at the same time is extra strength when it's night time.

In the comics Blades mother was indeed bitten by Decon Frost, but all it did was make Blade immune to vampirism, it was later when Blade faced Morbius The Living Vampire, that his immunity interacted uniquely with Morbius's venom, granting him vampiric traits except sunlight and garlic aversion

I can guarantee most have seen the movie and not the comics. Hence why I said the MOVIES. not the character itself. So actually it is accurate cinema wise.
In the movies, this is what happened. However I didn't know that morbius had anything to do with blade. Which they failed to reference that in the recent sony movie as well. Maybe in the old TV show I may have saw it but I doubt I can remember that from the several adaptations.
@@montyaduloju3768 No you are right, in the movie continuum as well as tv show, Dr Michael Morbius's role in creating Blade is never mentioned or infact hinted at at all. Meaning creative differences changed Blades origin. But Morbius was in fact the true cause for Blade being Blade. You see Morbius *is not a true vampire* he is a living vampire, who has a heartbeat, ages, and does not disintegrate in the sunlight. Morbius is in fact a *Daywalker* . A result from experimenting on himself to cure his illness, he gained vampire like qualities, but none of the weaknesses. This was shown in the movie Morbius the living vampire. Technically speaking....Morbius cannot turn others into vampires. When he bit Blade during a confrontation, he passed on his attributes to Blade because Blade has a unique physiology. And because sunlight has no effect on Morbius in the traditional vampire way of being disintegrated, neither does it have an affect on Blade.
That's why in the movie, when Blades partner said "you're one of them aren't you?" Blade answered "No....I'm something else"

Blade in the Marvel Comics continuity had a child with a mutant name Spitfire. Blade is still human, his genetics is unique because it can adapt to change(he still ages slower than a human). After Blade was bitten by Morbius, he gained supernatural abilities that was vampiric in nature. Overall, Blade is a lot stronger than characters whom has superpowers. Thats what make him very unique.

Black people don't view the sun as harmful because our skin literally absorbs sunlight. We have Neuro melanin which is the purest form of melanin found all throughout the body including the Pineal gland. Other races of people have regular melanin, which protects them from uv radiation from the sun cause their not built for it. You are half right. People with darker skin are able to absorb more sunlight, hence why their skin is darker to begin with. How are darker skinned people going to be vitamin D deficient if their skin is capable of absorbing and withstanding more UV rays than people with less melanin?
Yeah, this is generally a thing in vamp lore. Black vamps tolerate house light. While White vamps burn from a speck of light.
in the blade tv show (which is canon to the films), it was shown that blade can actually turn people into regular vampires from his bite, since his saliva still produces the enzyme that turn people into vampires. In the show blade was capture by his childhood gang the bad bloods (which is where he got his tattoos) cause blade bit them all and turned him into vampires, so yeah, his bite would still turn someone into a (full) vampire, and not a daywalker

Simple, Blade isn’t a vampire. Vampirism contributed to what he became but the ultimate result is not a vampire. All vampires are undead, they have low body temperatures. Blade is neither undead nor does he have low body temperature. Blade cannot convert others into vampires etc.
He is simply a different creature from them.

Actually in the comics, the reason as to why Blade can walk in the sunlight, is because Blade like any other vampire bat or owl, or night creature, can move around by day. Blade has the attributes of a humaniod vampire, because he was infected by a humaniod vampire. That humaniod vampire was a scientist, who through gene splicing his genetic makeup with that of a vampire bat, attempted to cure himself of a fatal disease that was slowly deteriorating him. The scientist name was Dr Michael....Dr Michael *Morbius* . But thw comic book world knows him as... Morbius The Living Vampire.
Blade had nothing by way of the great power he is known for. No strength. No speed. And no thirst for blood. He was simply a man that survived a vampire attack whilst still in the womb of his mother, and gained a resistance to the vampire virus. It was after Blade hunted down Morbius, thinking Morbius was undead, that he discovered that non of the relics, religious artifacts, holy water, stake, or sunlight, affected Morbius at all. Morbius wasn't an undead vampire....he was *something* else. A real vampire......a living vampire, with all the characteristics one would expect a humanoid vampire bat to have....including blood being its nutitional source. And Morbius passed on these characteristics to Blade, after Blade failed to kill him, and Morbius tried to drain Blade completely of his blood.
That's how Blade got his abilities.
And the reason why Blade is a daywalker, is because *Morbius* _is a _daywalker

A quick explanation for blade being one of a kind is that. No matter what blade was meant to be a mutant. Had he not been a vampire blade would have been a mutant with the ability of immortality.

Hunting vampires because a vampire killed his mother, instead in this world the only vampire powers he gained was speed, agility, and all super senses. No blood lust no blood high. He is not a vampire. When he studies his blood, the lack of vampirism reveals his x gene. An Xgene that would suggest he always had one originally.
When he is bit in And turns into a daywalker, its his xgene adapting to the vampire invading dna.
In most universes (99%) he turns into a day walker, already one of a kind, but in one particular universe he is pure superhuman effectively a stronger immortal and would become in that universe one of the strongest heroes on the levels oh cap.
Completely one of a kind across the entire multiverse
Blade is one of my favorite comic book characters but there's a guy out there that I don't think nobody in a comic world can mess with SPAWN he's is the most dangerous..I don't think there's anyone out there that can go toe to with him I would ❤️ to see you do an video about him.

@@bladebrown8336 Spawns hell like abilities are Mystical in nature, which Doctor Strange is a master of beating. Thors access to his hammer, the Odinforce and powered by runes would beat Spawn. Scarlet Witch has the ability to rewrite reality, shes gonna beat him without much effort. The Sentry has the the power of million explodingsun's, access to the void, which would rip AL Simmons in half. The Phoenix is the ultimate telepath, not taking into account her onslaught of powers. Thanos is actually a genius. Would figure out how to beat him. He's done it plenty of times in the past.

Let's start with Blade being heavily melinated. He is also a Dunpeal that is not dead like vampires are or undead.
Dunpeal is actually spelled Dhampir. And no, Blade is not Dhampir. A Dhampir is the rare occurence of a Vampire mating with a human and bearing a child from that union. The most famous, and probably first ever occurence of this happening was with the great vampire king...
Dracula. When he took a human wife (not Mina Harker), and through strength of will, his seed somehow managed to impregnate his wife, who bore him a son. They called this son, Alucard.. Dracula spelled backwards. Dhampirs are supernatural hybrids.
This is not what Blade is.
Blade is a mutant. His is very much human.
After the Wesley Snipes first movie in the 90's, it is erroneously believed that it was Frost that made Blade what he is. But It wasn't. It was *Morbius*
Yes Deacon Frost did in fact bite and drain the then pregnant Vanessa Brooks (Erics mother), and in so doing rendering the infant an immunity to any vampire virus henceforth. And yes, bwcause of this, Blade went on a personal vendetta, to rid the world of the undead creatures. Leading him to what he believed was news of a particular such creature called Morbius.
And so naturally, Blade assumed Morbius would be susceptible to all the relics any other vampire would susceptible to. The holy water, the religious artifacts, the cross, the sunlight....none of this had any effect on Morbius. And that's because Morbius is not a supernatural vampire. Morbius is a real vampire that is part man. A humaniod vampire....a living vampire.
When Eric fell to Morbius, it was then that Morbius unwittingly passed on his vampiric characteristics unto Blade. Mutating him.
The Daywalker title, that other vampires gave Blade, is wrong, because Blade nor Morbius are actually Vampires. They are humans spliced with vampire dna. Morbius's just shows more of the outward physicality of that splicing, than Blade does

This continum pitches Blade as Dhampir yes. However if you are to truly delve into the origin of the actual character, of which started off as a comic book, you will find that Blade was an ordinary man who simply hunted vampires out of a vandetta, because one, who went by the name Deacon Frost, was responsible for the passing of his parent. It wasn't until much later, after the introduction of Wesleys movie rendition, that comics decided to have Blade be bitten by a humaniod vampire called Morbius in _Peter Parker: Spiderman # 8_ which seemed not to have any effect on him, until _Blade: Vampire Hunter # 1_ where the ramifications of that bite, majifested by him having enhnaced physical abilities, as well as a need for blood.
Because Morbius is not a supernatural vampire, Blade is not supernatural. Because Morbius can walk around in the day, so too can Blade.
This might come as a shock, but the new movie, might decide to take this route for all we know. But what is certain is this....the real Blade? The one that the movie is loosely based on? The one in the comic? Was never a Dhampir. He was a mutant. Caused by being bitten by another mutant. Morbius
@stactionsmedia3318 I'm aware of the backstory change in the 90s but due to Deacon Frost feeding on Tara the mother of Blade/Eric, caused him to be born with certain qualities, which made him more vampire than mutant but he didn't get all of the superhuman qualities until Morbius. Even though Blade wasn't fully turned and not a Dhampir in the classic sense, you can't deny he is part human and part vampire. Even though it's not in the same way of a Vampire Hunter D sense.
