Deion was shut down, would make teams ignore whole sides. Let's not forget he played Receiver as well as CB and PR, as well as baseball. +Ken Clouds playing baseball has no relevance on how he played corner. deion was a great athlete no doubt. your comments about blount prove you dont truely know about him and how great he was.
88cutty Unfortunately for me I'm good friends with a few steelers fans and I know how great a lot of Steelers players are far more than I'd like. I think Blount is a great maybe the best pre Blount-rule corner but you made the comparison to Blount, who shouldn't even be compared to Deion as the game was much different. I'm just adjusting fo modern rules, and you know good and well Blount would do terribly in the new NFL passing culture. My point with baseball was he'd get interceptions the same weeks he'd hit home runs, he was shutting down whole sides after playing a baseball game 2-3 days before so imagine how much better he'd be if he just focused on football.
In HS and college when I played, I hated Mel Blount so much for how he changed football's rules at all levels forever lol. I loved getting to pulverize receivers at the line but let's just say it's not very easy to stay step for step with a 4.5/4.4 running college receiver when you arent allowed any contact 5 yds past the LOS, so just for practical purposes I didnt jam receivers much in press
Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Darrell Green, Ronnie Lott and Rod Woodson are the five best defensive backs. Rod was amazing and truly gifted and that earned him the respect from everyone who played in the same time and era as him.
Besides Deon Sanders, it was Rod Woodson who could flat out PLAY the game!!! One of the greatest to ever play the position!!! He could cover the pass and defend the run like none other!

Deion was shut down, would make teams ignore whole sides. Let's not forget he played Receiver as well as CB and PR, as well as baseball. Oh, if you'd want to see how Blount would be in the modern NFL look no further than Brandon "Penalty" Browner.
88cutty Would u take Rod Woodson Or Darren Sharper? on ur team
Gets overall DB ever. Deion was a better CB and Ed Reed was a better FS but Rod Woodson could do both at a super high level
Woodson ... total stud.
Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, Darrell Green, Ronnie Lott and Rod Woodson are the five best defensive backs. Rod was amazing and truly gifted and that earned him the respect from everyone who played in the same time and era as him.
4 of those would be in mine, but I’d take willie brown over Charles Woodson.
Best DB to ever play the game.
Besides Deon Sanders, it was Rod Woodson who could flat out PLAY the game!!! One of the greatest to ever play the position!!! He could cover the pass and defend the run like none other!
No.1 all time in NFL history with Career "PICK 6's" . Interceptions returned for a touchdown.
And number 1 in interception yardage all time. Dude was phenomenal. Remember every Steelers highlight from early 90s was Woodson with either an INT or a pick 6.
William Dennis
Which is why Rod Woodson was and still is (in my personal opinion) the best Cornerback in the *history* of the National football league
Intercepted 71 passes in his career (3rd most in history)
Rod Woodson is as close as the modern game ever came (if not surpassing) Ronnie Lott. How is he #41? How?!
Just to show the greatness of Barry Sanders, he tore Hot Rod's ACL without even touching him. F'n O'Donnell .
Watching him take a pick to the house and take the air out of a stadium was awesome.
It's as if he had a gps within his helmet. That guy's nose for the ball was phenomenal.😮💨🔥
2:29 Deion Sanders
I agree w/Boomer. Best DB of all time. To this day his leaving the STEELERS still hurts my soul.
Why do they keep taking shots at Deion Sander’s tackling?
