Congratulations, you now work for the SCP Foundation. Hand over your morals.
Yeah precisely why my stress relief anti foundation story exists my anger at them was literally interfering with me writing more peaceful story parts on my other stuff to do with them. I made a note if the government literally running out of electric chairs and lethal injections so they just go the firing squad route now it's right now just a bunch of low personnel being arrested told their Miranda rights (Not like that'll help most of them) and shoved into police busses and a bunch of do later notes. I do sorta feel bad for the D Class but there not my priority the actual SCPs are.
Also you could be eaten, blown up lost to mind control and you will litrally murder people but it is a job lol 😆

do I really half to tho?
I will if i get Healthcare. The good shit only. Like Europe style. Any medical treatment i need to get as a human being
Whats great about this scp is that its a semi 4th wall break/meta commentary. The monthly termination used to be canon but the writers actually realized how illogical and against the foundation's ethics the executions were...as well as being a massive waste of resources
@Bjorn Arnesen I think what he means is that this is what the community sees as "cannon".
also since i frequently see confusion of this on this channels comments, the SCP Wikis moderators deemed it impossible to keep a cohesive cannon, due to it being impossible to manage one due to the nature of the website, although I can't exactly remember where I read this). I've seen a good bit of SCPs that bring up alternate/parallel universes, which is a good explanation of it.

Am I the only one that remembers the fact that D-class are also selected from missing people? There are innocent people in there, just ones people wouldn't question.
Oooooooohhhhhh crud
I mean they also burn down or destroy towns and villages of innocent people to maintain “secrecy”
Wtf
Don't forget dissidence and immigrants and people who protest in other countries
@@brandonfitzgerald1457 I don't remember that.
This one is definitely unique amongst the Foundation stories. An in depth investigation is definitely required
Answer: It was just Bright doing a little trolling
Bet you regret that investigation now
I think it targets D-class as they are the easiest way for its memetic abilities to take hold. The foundation workers already hold them in contempt so by targeting these expendables it is less mental readjustment that needs to be done.
It’s also something that one can believe about that it is considered too risky to keep D-classes alive to long because of potentially dangerous effects of entities, disproved by critical thought but these people aren’t going to think to critically about it
This apathy and disassociation happens to a lot of foundation employees, most notably with the older researchers and administration staff. Staff turn over is high in certain departments, you are considered lucky if you survive your first year as junior researcher. The juniors are there to learn from the more senior staff and possibly replace them if the Senior is getting too old or no longer needed. With that in mind, Juniors often parish in dangerous experiments.
It happened so often in the past, not only the experiments with the D-class and the high casualty rates in the MTFs and Security forces that the older foundation Staff who survived are often Psychologically effected in different ways. (Ie: Dr. Jack Bright & Dr. Crow respectively.)
Putting a note in your personnel file for this one. The Foundation doesn't make a habit of replacing Senior Researchers because they are "too old" or "no longer needed". They do retire, change assignments, move on, or even pass away and need replaced as with any organization. And healthy competition for such positions are encouraged. But it would serve you well as a junior researcher not to antagonize your superiors. Seeing as your talents are being under utilized at the moment, perhaps reassignment to SCP-173 for a month of cleanup duty will give you time to reflect. I have a feeling the experience will serve you well in your new position as a Senior Researcher when you return.

How about instead of trying to detect the memetic hazard, alter the data digitization process to not use monthly termination in any order and alter all current documents with the word combination. Finally have any file flagged when the document is altered with these set words and then immediately alter it.
The file reacts to being detected tho
@@jameshenderson4094 yes and the moment a file is altered with the words monthly termination it would be detected. If it reacts and immediately moves then it will just be detected again, ultimately containing it.
The thing about infohazards and memetic hazards is there's no way of knowing what they actually read to be brainwashed (in this case). The same way they remember using the sidearm the files could say or show anything and the "monthly termination" is just what they think they seen.
The problem is there are SCPs that require similar procedures like the monthly termination (like The Factory), so the same sets of word combinations and synonyms still have to be used in normal documentation.
This is a great way of retconning the old school monthly terminations that used to be part of SCP lore in a way that makes perfect sense in-universe.
You could also just say that the monthly termination was a policy that was abolished when the Ethics Committe was formed.
@@ethanor the Ethics commission was formed in the 1950s in my primary Canon, so no.

I just found out about these stories and I love em, I would love to see comics for each one of them and even stories for the d class, scientists and people who work for the scp

I would also recommend Lord Bung's Confinement series.

Considering the corrupt nature of justice systems, a fair few of those D class are innocent people, convicted out of convenience, malicious intent, or simple laziness.
I feel like this should be addressed more
4004 doing its job, I guess.
Some mentioned that D-class also gets filled out with homeless, vagrants and other people who can disappear off the radar without notice. I've never heard anything about it, but it would make the whole thing even more effed up.
A@@ethanor And the ethics community allows this? What is the point of having an ETHICS COMMUNITY at all if they would allow innocent people to be turned into D Class?
Now have fun realizing any and all SCP files you've read with that monthly termination statement in there was completely believed by you until you watched this.
And interesting way to explain the old references to monthly terminations of D-class.
I purely clicked for the "D-Class got ganked" thumbnail
But seeing it was an SCP Explained video made it even better

D-class: Oh boy...
What makes D class worse is that some of them are definitely innocent
Weird. The monthly termination phrase still appears on the SCP-871 page even though I saw it weeks earlier.

There is a new bot around here ignore it please and yea out.

This is false. If you get caught trying to enter a site you are either aware of the site’s true nature in which case your fate might be that of a class D but most likely that of a Person of Interest detained for informations and not experimentation (depending on circumstances you could even end ul with a job at the foundation)
But in majority of cases you’ll just be amnesticized and sent back into the civilian word.

SCP-2193
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: The Artificial Intelligence Applications Division (AIAD) is to monitor the Foundation database for instances of SCP-2193-1. The instances are to be logged and removed, and the holding Site's (if applicable) personnel will require amnestic therapy. Provisional Site-███ and Observation Site-██ are to be exempted from this procedure, in order to facilitate observation of the phenomena. Contact with these Sites at any level (whether through in-person visits, or simply phone/email communication) is restricted, to prevent further contamination of Mission-Critical Sites.
Description: SCP-2193-1 is an infohazardous anomaly affecting the documentation for items and entities in the Foundation database. It often appears in the object's Special Containment Procedures or addenda, and references an operation referred to as the 'Monthly Termination' of Class-D personnel. No evidence for the initial adoption or implementation of such a policy exists in any Foundation records, as verified by a RAISA investigation into all prior O5/Administrator mandates and SDECotW resolutions.
SCP-2193-1 is automatically inserted into a random digital SCP slot at irregular intervals. The method by which it is generated is unknown.
Individuals who are exposed to SCP-2193-1 are subjected to a memetic effect, wherein they fully believe the Monthly Termination of Class-D personnel to be a valid Foundation operation. This belief can be easily spread through any and all forms of communication solely by containing the phrase 'Monthly Termination'. Uninfected personnel that possess doubt or suspicion are able to be overcome with simple rhetoric supporting the policy. The infected continue to operate as if SCP-2193 has always been a Foundation-held policy, and there is a noted lack of cognitive dissonance when presented with conflicting information.
Aside from the excessive expenditure of Class-D personnel, Sites and individuals infected are able to perform their duties exceptionally, and without undue complications. The first known document to host SCP-2193-1, SCP-███; has been removed from the database, and is undergoing review from the Foundation Counterconceptual Division.
No internal documentation or instructions exist that detail the actual termination process. Regardless, infected individuals and departments operate and 'terminate' Class-D personnel in a uniform manner. Remote observation of Sites ███ and ███, as well as security footage from affected Sites prior to SCP-2193's discovery have revealed the 'Monthly Termination' process:
On the final day of the month, testing is suspended on any SCPs which would involve Class-D testing.
Approximately one third of the Site's resident Class-D population will stand facing their cell doors.2
A sufficient detachment of security personnel will arrive to escort the Class-D in a single-file line throughout the facility. Though the guards will be armed, no restraints are placed on the Class-D.
Researchers, Level 0, and other personnel not directly involved in the process will avoid the path the officers/Class-D follow. This is perfectly choreographed, despite the lack of planning/forewarning.
The Class-D will be led to a point outside the facility, and taken to an area that is not covered by surveillance systems.3
Sub-dermal tracking implants on the Class-D cease function.
The security guards return to the facility. The officers will claim to have terminated the Class-D via their sidearms.4
Recovery: SCP-2193 was discovered on 10/31/1994, by AIAD PROJECT: CORINTHIAN (aka: "Glacon"), after its initial upload to Site-17. The Site was undergoing an SCP-2193 event, which the AI observed through the surveillance system. It attempted to contact then-Site Director J. O███████, as the AI interpreted the procedure as illogical, and without precedent. Its communications were disregarded.
The AI correctly deduced the presence of a memetic effect. It began the process of removing SCP-2193-1 throughout the Site's backup digital files, as well as every entry of the main database accessible by Site-17 personnel. It completed the process before the D-Class had been removed from their cells, and disabled the doors' electronic locks.
Dietrich M. Lurk was contacted by Site-17 Security Chief, who requested his assistance in disabling the AI's system override. D. Lurk investigated the situation, and finding the AI to be acting in accordance Standard Principles, instead alerted MTF Eta-10 ("See No Evil").
Site-17, along with twelve other Sites had to be quarantined, with their corresponding records wiped of SCP-2193-1. Provisional Site-███ and Observation Site-██ were exempted for testing purposes.
Addendum: Incident Log 2193/███
Foreword: On 01/31/1999 at 01:30, Provisional Site-███ underwent an SCP-2193 event. During the transport of Class-D, behavioral changes were noted in both the detainees and the guards. The Class-D repeatedly expressed concern over their fate, while the guards apologized profusely. The following is an excerpt taken from Agent Ysson's head cam as the event reached its conclusion
01:59:23: The group approaches a rounded clearing in the woods 2km South of the Site.
02:01:46: The Class-D continue directly towards the clearing's center. The guards branch out, and form a ring around the group. This formation is congruous with previous observations.
02:04:32: The guards around the Class-D's perimeter turn away from the group and obscure their head cams, excluding Agent Ysson.
Agent Ysson: [Indecipherable due to sudden interference, presumably 'Not']"…again"
02:05:05: D-1920 lifts vertically, and hovers in place .3 meters off the ground.
02:05:09: D-1920 continues upward, at an estimated speed of 35,000 km/hr. D-1823 begins to hover.
02:05:12-02:06:58: This process repeats for each present Class-D.5 They are taken individually.
02:06:58: Agent Ysson watches the final Class-D depart, and fixates on the full moon.
02:07:33: The moon appears to 'blink'.6
02:07:35: Agent Ysson begins to run. In the background, the other guards can be seen remaining in their position.
02:07:39: Agent Ysson is lifted in a manner similar to the Class-D.
02:07:41: Camera feed cuts as the Agent reaches the stratosphere.
Afterword: Under questioning, the guards asserted that Agent Ysson had been attacked by the Class-D, and that he had been killed in the resulting altercation.
At first reading that title I thought it was going to be SCP-727-J. Basically exploding D-Class.

Wait, if monthly termination isn't a real thing, how is SCP 2439 contained?
That's easy: There's no canon for the SCP universe, so they both exist and don't exist in the same line.
Besides, D-class personal rarely last more than 1 month anyway.
A question we've all asked ourselves from time to time, no doubt.
Monthly termination is still Canon to me. Always liked how they'd give the Class-D's false hope at the chance of "going home" only to get led behind a shed at the end of the month, if they even survive that long anyway.
The problem I have with it is that it makes so much scientific research impossible. Want to study an SCP over years? Well you can’t. Some SCP is even point out that the foundation has had problems because of the supposed terminations.
Cold not cruel
@@EvilDMMk3 I mean being able to pick from prisons WORLDWIDE means they have access to literally hundreds of thousands if not even millions of bodies, they prefer death row since..well..its death row you usually gotta do some pretty messed shit to wind up there so who cares anyway but they are known to expand the criteria to non-death row so, really they can have as many bodies as required. Let's also not forget they are known to demote staff to D-Class should they, for example, let a containment breach happen because they were an idiot. If they need a disposable test subject they'll get it one way or another. For me, anything that makes the Foundation an even more morally grey necessary evil organization the better.
@@EvilDMMk3
I think that a D-Class would end up terminated in one way or another, perhaps not after a month but after a few years when they become too crosscontaminated to be of use.
If you don’t die via SCP I don’t think the foundation will be kind enough to just amnestize you and throw you into society again.
Nah that's just illogical cruelty. The Foundation may be absolutely calloud about D-Class, but that's just a pointless waste of resources for villainy's sake.
I like Dr. Bob better, there’s never been a more official sounding SCP representative then his channel. His scientific explanation plus the proper sentences using scientific terminology makes it all the more awesome.
The dilemma with this is only a AI system with high level of access can detect and use resources to stop it. But would need to prevent humans from interfering not even O5 council. So no oversight.
Probably just Dr Bright pranking people with an infohazard
I am glad that the monthly terminations were classified as an SCP in this universe, and that some of the universes don’t have it. I know the SCP wiki doesn’t have a classified canon, which is good because it allows some versions to be more humane.
