    It's always good to hear directly from Chris and it was generous of him to offer his time unplanned. I'll say it again... the automotive industry and consumers not only need what Aptera is doing, but how they are doing it! The transparency of the company and vehicle development is beautiful to see, and Right-To-Repair is so important! Thank you Chris, Steve, and all of Aptera!!

      @@SavingGreenI want to see the funding. Getting a vehicle to production is very difficult, and getting the volume ramped is very hard, but if they can do it, and they don't have too many problems, I think they absolutely have a shot.

    • @de-bodgery
      @de-bodgery Год назад

      @@fjalics Do you see any production capability there at all? I sure don't! They can't make cars at any level of volume! At best, they can hand build them one at a time and that will be VERY EXPENSIVE! Aptera doesn't talk about it. They put people in front of you spewing hype and wishful thinking, but LOOK in the background! Where's the robotics and other machines? Where's the assembly stations? Where's the NOISE of production?! Where's the pallets of packs and solar panels and body units? Where's all the motors and seats and other things??? They don't exist! They build their solar panels one at a time and in very low volumes! You see enough panels for 1 or 2 cars in the video and that is about it! They claim they will be delivering cars in 2024...I'm highly skeptical! They literally have 3 or maybe 4 cars and that includes alpha and beta prototypes!!! Aptera is an empty promise yet again! Lots of hype and no delivery of cars! I'd be astonished if the company ever makes a profit! I don't want them to fail. I check in on what they are up to every 6 months or so and I'm still skeptical they will ever be profitable! Very light or no North American investors is really telling! Those types of people are not dumb. They can see that Aptera can't give them ROI.

At Fully Changed Live San Diego, i don't think Chris ever left the booth and he answered questions the entire weekend And my favorite thing i saw at that show, as important and busy as everything was for aptera, Chris stopped, and made the time to show his wife, kids and family that was there to support him , how much he cared about them. I found it a really touching moment. It made me more of a believer in what Chris and Aptera are doing!

    Thanks for uploading Josh. Great interview. Let's hope Aptera makes it. I think for this vehicle category (SEV - solar electric) it's now or never. For me a big part of the quality of Aptera are Steve and Chris. It's so cool these guys are at it again (since the 200x days). I was impressed by the sharp observations by Chris regarding fleet owners. Spot on. Early in the interview some nice one-liners too like "Wireless nuclear charging" and "No dictator can shut off the sun". Reminds me of the early Tesla slides which always carried the Sjeik Yamani one-liner "The Stone Age did not end because the world ran out of stones". Regarding IP I also hope for some type of 'open architecture' which would allow SEV companies like Sono or Lightyear to add some unique software features. Sono had some really cool ideas, it would be a shame to see them disappear forever. After all we're in the age of software defined vehicles aren't we? As for 'open architecture' I also hope one of our local (The Netherlands, Europe) regen capable, electro magnetic suspension developers might be interested (eventually) in 'porting' to the Aptera platform. We'll see. Hopefully the money thing sorts itself out.

    Also, re: 7:21 - the same is also true for delivering using apps like DoorDash and Uber Eats, not to mention independent contracting platforms like TaskRabbit. With an Aptera you could almost completely eliminate how much you’re spending per mile to deliver each DD/UE order while still saving on taxes in the case of deductions, to the point of only needing to supercharge maybe once per day even on the busiest of days, and in the case of TaskRabbit, well, that’s a flat $0 per mile given that you could accept a task 20 miles away (40 round-trip) and leave the Aptera out in the sun to charge while assembling furniture or mounting a TV for example.

      most commercial panels are rated for hail up to a certain size and velocity. my solar panels on my home are more rigid than the cells on the Aptera, but they have been damaged by golf balls (I have a video on it). However, the array is still working about 70% despite the damage.

    What are you didn’t ask was yes there’s plenty of interest with these foreign investors but is that interest actually Hass to deal with. They’re starting their own Aptera plans in other countries. In other words making money for themselves that isn’t necessarily going to impact our getting the car is here faster?!

    • @SavingGreen

      I didn’t ask about international delivery, but I do think they are going to distribute the accelerator investor vehicles wherever they are in the world, but widespread global delivery won’t be right away for the standard orders. US buyers will be first in line, I believe. Good question! Maybe someone else has more info.

    Yeah..."North American capitol markets are not on board"...that's rather key! Very few North American investors believe in Aptera! This is the only vehicle to have? Really? You mean something that will will need smooth roads, can't tolerate off road conditions at all, breaks with a parking lot accident? This is only good if you have clear city streets and zero obstacles! This is the LAST THING you'd want when the "world ends"! While CF is very strong, it's is also very difficult if impossible to repair. It's going to be on roads with other cars and trucks. It's going to get in accidents! The LAST thing you want in a car is a body that is totaled with any minor accident! It's an insurance nightmare waiting to happen! Stick to metal construction if you can't afford a McClaren or Lambo!

  • @prieten49

    I wonder how much "green" has been burned by people and investors who have waited for 18 years for this car to hit the road. Aptera was founded in 2005 and by 2008, 4,000 people had plunked down $500 deposits. Only promo RUclipss have been produced ever since. Anthony sounds like the classic huckster, he throws out lots of technical jargon to create a fog of seriousness that obscures the lack of progress and keeps the chump money coming.
