    Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

    Unfortunately crypto is too volatile to ever completely take over as currency. No one in their right mind would put all their cash into crypto (and bitcoin is the only one worth anything). Find a chart and look how big swings in price can be. Tens of thousands in one day are not uncommon. Crypto should just be a percentage of your holdings.

    I used the link in the description and I'm now using a cold wallet. I got a Ledger S pack and have been watching their YT videos: I'm hooked and perhaps I'll get a few more. Questions:
    1. is the Nano X worth the value? Bluetooth is a big _no no_ for me in terms of security...
    2. are you already using 2+ Ledger wallets with the same key? (backup)
    3. how many apps do you have per pen?
    4. what if the new app updates increase in size and there's no storage space?
    5. did the referral link work?

    • @TheResearcherYT
      @TheResearcherYT  3 года назад +3

      Aye cheers
      Nano X is worth getting if only you plan to utilise lots of apps, more than five I reckon. Otherwise you have to over-right certain apps (assets will be safe though, you won't be deleting it). This is about experience and convenience, at the end of the day. Considering you aren't a fan of Bluetooth, then yeah, Nano S is much more viable option.
      See, about using multiple wallets - this is all about personal concerns. It's actually quite reasonable to have a couple of Ledgers if you are afraid of losing one.
      Speaking of updates, I didn't happen to face any problems yet. However, if anything goes south, keep your recovery phrase close and everything will be fine :)

    • @andanssas
      @andanssas 3 года назад

      @@TheResearcherYT Sorry for the late reply, really appreciated the detailed answer. I tried a couple of Nano S with different wallets through the same Ledger Live and it works flawlessly: all accounts/apps are listed but only when the right ledger is connected, operations are allowed on them. If I end up getting a few more, I'll use the same ref :)

    There is one piece of misinformation in this video. You stated that the ownership of your coins on the Ledger wallet is “truly yours” when that isn’t true. Ledge has stated that if they were subpoenaed or really wanted to, they could access these hardware wallets. They really aren’t any safer than keeping the money on an exchange for that reason.

      Stealing as a whole is illegal, be it crypto or apples from the market :) People can get in trouble depending on a country. But as a general rule, police won't be, or rather wouldn't be able to make any moves as there won't be anywhere to go for them. Yes, they would have a public address of a robber's wallet but then it's quite complicated to figure out who is behind it, more so to gain access to this wallet

    Is an ssd ok even with other things on it like games?

    • @aarondieringer6997

      I’m new to crypto as a whole but as a long time tech guy I’d strongly recommend against this.
      In a very basic analogy, an SSD is just flash memory, meaning every time you do something the drive deletes the old info and flashes the new info in its place. So at some point, it will reach its max amount of “flashes” and die. Now, I don’t mean that to make you scared, because the reality is it should have enough “flashes” to last a lifetime.
      But what I’m getting at is that if your using it to store something as important as money, why put the extra strain on the drive with other stuff like games. Your games will just be using up those precious “flashes”, opening up a potential of corrupting the SSD or killing it.
      I would just get a dedicated SSD strictly for the purpose of your crypto wallet. Don’t do anything else with it, anything else is just an unnecessary chance of killing the drive.

    why would downloading 330GB to an HDD (4+TB) take "1 million years" -- i don't think this is the case.. a regular HDD will be able to handle this -- SSD/SD card is not necessary .

    I'm not sure if this is honest or satire. The funny thing is, even if someone is honestly describing how crypto operates it still sounds like a huge, complicated scam.

    • @TheResearcherYT
      @TheResearcherYT  2 года назад +1

      Crypto itself isn't a scam. Some services operating via crypto are though. Just look at some NFT-bros' scams. Yet the majority of NFT projects, for example, is working quite right.
      From a newcomer's standpoint, crypto looks more like a casino - you either get lucky or you don't. But when you dig deeper you get to know how it functions, what interdependencies exist and what influences growth/decline
