8:06 the audacity of the opponent sleeping emote when they are doing the same exact “cheating things out” build idea. Wild.
touch grass
Right???
It wasn't about the fact that he had a jank deck. It was more because Seth was taking forever to decide what he wanted to do and was mulling over everything in his hand. I can easily see why someone would do the snooze emote in that situation
I think that was a "lying down to die" kinda situation
It's awesome that arena players can try out this old broken archetypes from legacy and back. Gives these old broken cards a home besides these hard to break into eternal formats
The closest they'll get to playing Legacy
True, This is essentially Legacy with even some banned Legacy cards. I don't think Timeless needs the OG Duals or Wasteland to be a great format. My question tho is...are people even still playing Historic? For me, if I want current, I have standard, more power, Explorer, eternal style format, Timeless.
I guess Historic is like Modern without the love the Modern format has.
@@mattm7798I play historic because most of the spikes have moved on to timeless and explorer so it's quite chill
@@mattm7798 Historic is played more than explorer yes.
I really wish legacy wasn’t so damn expensive, I’ve played it on mtgo before and it’s tons of fun it’s just stupidly expensive in paper.
24:45 "No fear" [proceeds to show fear] We have learned nothing from Colorless Infect.
22:31 "Now we can't really Thoughtseize" - Seth, choosing not to chump block with a mana dork despite having 5 lands in play
This also makes me confused as to why he didn't use the Shaman that he saved to create a black mana for the Thoughtseize?...
@@cecilenaught because casting thoughtseize would kill him
We were a land away from hardcasting Atraxa though!
In the last game of last match at 54:30 you could have made him kill himself.
Take his turn, play his land, cast bowmasters targeting himself. Then play Yawg, sac his board to yawg to lose the last 4 life
Cruelty haha
@47:54 you should have gotten an uptapped blue source to brainstorm to hide the show and tell
Yes! And it's not like the two life from shocking a land into play was going to be a deciding factor in a combo vs combo matchup. It wasn't even that long ago in the video where Seth talks about using Brainstorm to hide cards from Thoughtseize!
Agreed, he even talked about it before, hard punt
Luckily he still managed to pull it out
6:17 Seth please pay attention to all the cards atraxa reveals 😭 there was a Brainstorm in there that could've helped find the s&t
Nice i am excited to watch this Deck! I saw Jim Davis playin "borne upon a Wind" in his Deck to win in response to opponents Meteor golem (etb from Show and Tell) targetin the omniscience. So satisfying!
I'm glad that you liked the deck. The version Jim used was card for card what I had posted online lol. Sorry, gotta brag when given the opportunity.
@@123leviathan123 Loved that deck! Borne upon a wind is sooo good
54:36 protection from black means opponent can't block your flying vigilant hasty creatures, Atraxa by herself was lethal, but with emmy it was super lethal. Though I guess opponent was holding up boseiju for the akroma's memorial to gain the life? Either way, opponent was dead probably 4 different ways
If the last month of ranked queue is anything to go by, they don't need to be taught about Show and Tell. They already know about it.
I've been pretty happy playing domain zoo and getting out leyline binding to just immediately snipe the omniscience.
The amount of love I have for this series is probably equivalent to my age, but please give us more 🙏🏻
I love this series! I learn so much
!punt against domain 38:30. Chump with DRS let's you untap with 3 life after fetching so you can clear the way with thoughtsieze first?
it's quite likely they had more Bindings though since they weren't playing anything
@@migwetchi9253I absolutely agree that he could have seen a hand of domain induced anxiety and still lost, but DRS had no impact on whether or not show and tell succeeded. Not a game winning call, but could definitely have mattered
Nice. I'm a Show and Reanimate for legacy fan.
46:20 Yawg and Hapatra isn't infinite on it's own. They need a young wolf, or you to have a bunch of toughness worth of creatures for them to target. You shouldn't have conceded that game.
I should do a Video called "This is why Counterspell was Banned for YEARS"
Planeswalkers Hate It! FRUSTRATE your opponents with this one weird cantrip!
Do it! It sounds like it'd be a great video, although you'd probably have to specify the format or time period for it make sense.
Do it
Counterspell was never banned. It simply wasn't printed into standard for modern/pioneer.
@@canismajor1186 I do not Play Paper or MTGO(Horrible) any more, so all I hvae to go on for the last few years is Arena and its Formats.
I like more the Mastermind's acquisition sideboard win con, which also works as tutor in the deck instead of dead cards like memorial
The answer i see is enchantment based removal like leyline binding because they hit almost everything.
Although atraxa's etb and grizlebrand's ability can be used in response, it still stops omnecience and gets a body out of the way
Honestly Agent of Treachery and Boromir are both solid answers. There is a Winota deck that plays both that absolutely wrecks this deck. When your opponent banks on omniscience and you put out a body that shuts it off it's normally GG and with the way the deck paces out even if they drop an Atraxa instead then you drop Winota and swing and if you hit an Agent then you just steal the opponents board.
Made it about halfway through the video. Deck is nuts! Seems to easy to actually be fun long term though.
Show and Tell decks have been kicking my ass while playing the sacrifice deck Seth build :p Like he says, different kind of magic.
Yeah, Show and Tell has changed the meta at the moment.
Shouldnt this deck have tidebinder or tales end to protect against binding and titan of industry?
here for the misplays, was not disappointed
death and taxes, containment priest, loran of the third path, heck yeah. could also dive into black for discard spells of course. (for show and tell answers)
Show and tell and storm made me mainboard Rule of Law ,to great results, suprisingly, i'm getting a lot of people playing these decks.
Why scoop to Yawgmoth, Hapatra and blood artist?
That wont start a loop, would it?
Just me thinking aloud: at 48:00 you took the surveil land from boseiju: wouldn't it be better to take an island and tuck the show and tell/akroma's memorial with Brainstorm to keep them safe?
Was your game 1 missing the Agent of Treachery mentioned in the intro?
I have a small idea for this deck, if you are worried about Leyline Bindings, maybe throw in some stifles.
Love the content! Super cool deck. Always fun seeing people play timeless. Random question on deckbuilding. I see 4x Assemble the Team, but only one Demonic Tutor. Why not reverse?
Bringing in Veil of Summer against Domain can sometimes protect your Omniscience from Leyline Binding since Leyline of the Guildpact makes Binding all colors.
LMFAO so
1) they have to have Leyline turn 0
2) they have to have a Binding when you S&T
3) you have to have Omniscience
4) you have to have 4 mana
5) and you have to have your 1-of Veil of Summer
All of the above (probably less then 2-3%) or VoS is almost a dead card?
That's your reasoning while sideboarding? You Bronze 4 life or what?
Definitely agree we need Timeless Anthologies with relevant cards. It would be sweet to eventually have Vintage on Arena (power 9 are already coded with Oracle of the Alpha 😉) but I imagine we'll have to wait 5+ years for that (though with power creep, who knows).
Awesome deck
Would Stifle in the sideboard be worth it? Stops Leyline Binding in those matchups, or Titan of Industry. Also stops Boseju.
I played grixis show and tell running sheoldred the apocalypse along side griselbrand for life gain and card draw. Got laughed at till I was gaining life vs losing for drawing. Might rebuild it and add the new atraxa too
I feel like the land that you can sac to cast spells with flash could be decent as either main deck or sideboard protection against things like ley line binding because then you could go off in response to the etb trigger.
But maybe that’s just the brawl player in me…
47:53 absolute punt. Grab an Island from Boseiju and play Brainstorm to hide your S+T
one of bourne upon the wind might be a good silver bullet to have in the tutor package
sick Build man =)
35:51 Fable is so strong that Seth thinks any Red Saga is Fable
Would it be goofy to run a stifle or something similar in sideboard in case you run into more leyline binding decks?
Ahhh, wartime flashbacks to old Standard...
Your videos of recording gameplay are my favorite, I definitely find you the most entertaining in this setting. Have you considered an even heavier focus on this?
awesome deck!
What about adding stifle to the deck for things like Leyline Binding?
11:50 The dual animation of Carnage Tyrant and Nullhide Ferrox hitting the battlefield would light up any Timmy's heart. I really wish they kept up the animations.
Do you think the Approach of the Second Sun win condition version is better than the emrakul/griselbrand variant?
after their first win, i was rooting so hard for tenacious pup deck.
made an aged deck after seeing this.
loved the omniscience yoink.
Omni-tell is such a fun old archetype, just playing so many op spells because of no cost
What do you do if someone does something like Rule of Law / Arcane Laboratory when you Omniscience? Doesn't that throw a massive spanner in the works?
Can anyone tell me
What set this card came in? I can’t tell how to search it on arena or other cards
52:46 didn't you make a new year's resolution not to play scared?! Cmon man!
There's a fine line between playing scared and playing smart. With an Atraxa already on the battlefield I'm not sure it's really worth trying to do more there.
@@MTGGoldfish you're right and you explained it well at the time. I just got hasty and paused the video to type my comment before you explained your reasoning 😂 keep up the good work love the vids
I wonder how a Stax deck with Thalia and Lavinia (maybe even Containment Priest and/or Meddling Mage) would fare.
Green decks have the best answer to Show and Tell in Titan of Industry. The titan can blow up Omniscience before it can do anything, it can beat Atraxa in combat with a shield counter, and green has multiple ways to tutor up the Titan (even at instant speed with archdruid charm).
yesssss one of my faves
You can respond to the fetch trigger by eating it with deathrite and then brainstorming
Pretty cool trick
I played yesterday agains one of those decks, looks super fun to play, not so fun if you are just playing pauper...
I came back to arena after like 3 years, I was playing minored burn, the budget version from your video, and I won a lot of matches thanks to people not understanding "that silly red enchantment" until I climb to diamond and people just put an atraxa into play 😂
Love to see the best deck in the format be a gimmicky combo deck Goldfish would like
23:30
Minor misplay maybe: could have put emrakul down instead to gain control of their turn and use up leyline bindings. That would only have worked if they had two leyline bindings though
I thought of that too but it wouldnt work. Emrakul's control your opponent ability activates on cast, not ETB. It would just be a 13/13 at that point.
@@Ozzie840 Ah lol
I've been playing a show and tell deck and when I saw the title of this video I went oh no
Honest question: would running containment priest work as a counter to show and tell?
I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but when I put your videos on in the background I do all the chores I've been putting off for days, then I get frustrated that I didn't actually listen and watch them over again. Crim I need to actually watch but you and Phil put me into productivity mode and I need to watch the video again later lol
Wouldn’t casting the sanctity at 46:11 have prevented the Yag win in game one?
This deck looks real fun, the problem is the wildcards
This deck is obscenely easy to win with. Love it
back in 2013, i would regularly proxy legacy decks for my friend to practice his legacy show and tell, sneak attack hypergenesis deck against and this is bringing back the memories. i had another friend who wanted to practice his oops all spells deck and he refused to play pact of negation and i kept playing interaction (orim's chant, force of will, daze, mental misstep, etc) and letting him lose next turn to his draw and he got so salty and eventually put pact in his sideboard.
What do you think of running stifle or some disallow type of effect to protect the omniscience?
I think the best answer is Borne on the Winds so we can just combo off in response to someone trying to blow up Omniscience.
@@MTGGoldfish i can see that, this deck does love the card draw.
LOL the opponent wasn't being sneaky with the Leyline Binding when you played your first Show and Tell. They simply didn't have it at the time. The one they eventually played to get rid of your Omniscience was one that they drew later on I'm fairly certain
I played against something very similar a few days ago. The guy used thoughtseize right before show and tell to make sure he didn't give me the win.
Those force of negations were so uslesss so many times
Couldn't you have a main deck stiffle effect to counter layline binding
35:50 that wasn’t even fable man😭😂
Hey Seth; love your content just wanted to give a suggestion for lowering your gain on your microphone for the intros.
Just had a flashback of Chocolate Rain with the lack of turning away from the mic to breathe.
Love ya mate
Kinda surprised this version isn’t playing dig through time
I think this is why I started like control more!
It's just hard to balance having game against aggro and combo (and control is like 0% into lands), but Control is pretty good into OmniTell
@mtggoldfish they need to launch a secret layer, inspector gadget, karn the great creator as the inspector 😂
I pulled Show and Tell as a special guest card in my pre-release pool. I also had the new Niv. I pulled it off on-curve in 4 separate games. You have no idea how much 3 mana mono-colored removal is in Markov... :(
Would force of negation hold this deck back?
Not only would coding cards for a Timeless Anthology be great for expanding the format over time but also put us closer to Vintage cube on MTGA.
Totally agree that the issue with Timeless is that the answers haven’t caught up to the threats. It makes the format feel very rock paper scissors, where the strategy you play matters much more than the decisions you make in game. Also, why did they print “assemble the team” … has any format been improved by more {anything} tutors?
Curious how the Timeless format will be managed. Will they try and curtail the REALLY broken decks by restricting individual cards, or will they bring in a card like Force of Will to do most of the heavy lifting? But if they do the latter, it essentially make blue the best color in the format just like Legacy.
Maybe they treat Timeless as a casual format and just let everything be broken, since as it currently stands, timeless is a terrible competitive format, but a hilarious casual one.
yeah I think this is marginally more consistant than the sutai (or dimir) Fae of wishes version of Show and tell
Solid video
At 47:54 you could have gotten an island and brainstormed to protect the combo
Can we have force of will and daze plz?
Is it just me or does it look like Seth is commentating on a pre-recorded video during the game at 19:15
should have a stifle to counter the binding
Every time there's a new Timeless video or stream, I feel like the deck being played is like the most insanely broken thing I've seen in the format. It happens so often it's wild.
46:13 I don’t think you needed to scoop here, did you? Yawgmoth needs creatures to target and creatures to sac, and the opponent was a little short. You probably had the win
Maybe another 6+ power flyer to end the game a little easier (not having to get Emmy)? Razaketh or Villis seem decent? Tho it doesn't seem to come into play here. Sideboard tear asunder for binding? Love the deck tho it seems memey
I don't think you were actually dead to Yawg there without the undying creature...
53:31 opponent run atraxa as a nature order target along with hoof
And Seth found it in the end
what to replace Assemble the Team if you wanted to build this for paper magic?
If you try to build this deck you're a terrible person.
@@jeffscrungle6179 lmfao 🤣 why? It looks solid and I don’t have any decks of other formats
@@mikhailtessier1 Because playing this deck means playing a deck where you don't interact with your opponent whatsoever it requires no skill to play and it's just about exploiting the game so you can have a mindless doomstack to faceroll any opponent.
Surprised no Sneak attack too
Against the yawg deck when they bosejiued the second time you could have gotten an untapped blue source from it to brainstorm away your show and tell from the discard, and when you emrakuled them you could have just played yawgmoth and hapatra and than just paid all their life for yawgmoth.
Timeless looks absolutely painful now
Isnt sneak attack on arena too ? why not making a full sneak n show deck ?
why lorien? arent dig and cruise on arena?
