I still have a long way to go, but I stumbled upon your channel last month. I had never heard of low content publishing. I followed step by step how to make 6 book designs. In my first month, I've sold 2 copies and I can't express my gratitude to you for all that you offer us at no charge. Blessings to you for restoring my hope. This actually has potential to work. For those of you who may put text or graphics on the back of your book, I had problems with KDP not accepting my book cover because I didn't have room for a barcode, even though I knew I had the room because I followed the template exactly. (It may have been because I had a background image and it didn't know it was okay to print over it.) I fixed the issue by putting a white box over the area in the template where the barcode needed to go and there were no problems with it after that.
I saved my paperback cover on canva as PNG and placed it on the new hardcover on canva. It aligned perfectly, for me. Might not work for every design though.
Yay!! I was looking forward for you to make a video about hardbacks! For those of us who have the Pro version of Canva, the "Resize" tool is going to come in very handy!
@@kayleighcastle9236 it is handy if you have covers that were already made for paperbacks. You can then go back to them in Canva, click on "resize & copy", and then use the template to make sure every element is within the new margins :)

Hello, I was in the Hardcover Beta Program since the beginning of 2021. So far I know there´s no 8,5x11 inches option, just 8.25x11 inches hardcover format. This is a great chance for all of us. I´m now specialized in hardcover books and my sales are now 10x higher than with paperback and ebooks only.
Thank you Paul, I just began my KDP journey with my first upload yesterday. I was able to do so largely because of your great videos that explains the process so clearly. You are really an amazing teacher!
If anyone is doing this make sure you try and find a niche or unique type of book to sell, Amazon are cracking down on a lot of KDP accounts that are listing hundreds of simplified Journals for a quick buck based on some generic copyright free images/covers, (especially if there are hundreds of sellers using the same images), also go easy on your metadata/tags as it will flag your listing if you have the same words on the title and subtitle of your listing. Try and think outside the box with your designs/ideas to prevent this.
I saw the hardware cover option on my dashboard and I began to work on my LCB; after some minor adjustments I launched and waited. After about 24 hours, it went live. I was really surprised as I'm still waiting about 7 days for other softcover books. going forward, I'm launching both soft and hardcover and may even try hardcover only. I guess the next step is for kdp to offer spiral bound , but that'll probably be a much higher cost. best wishes to everyone here on your kdp journey !!
I am new to low-content books. And you are my #1 go-to guru thanks for such great advice. I see on one of your videos you paid over $800 in advertising. I have a website with 15 books of which only 6 are low-content (Soon to be many more). Where do you advertise?
Thx again captain. I looked at the print costs. Maybe we should consider going to 110 pages that saves 12 cent print costs. That doest not sound much but 12 cent less price in printing saves you money

I had wrote you a comment earlier that I just removed about the list price minimum being so high for the hardcovers. I just realized I made a mistake and selected the premium color paper interior and that was making my print cost high and the list min high as well. So nevermind :)
KDP opened this feature yesterday (9.15.21) and I uploaded 4 (5.5” x 8.5”) notebooks and they are already live today! Hardcover isn’t over saturated yet with submissions so they’re publishing really quick! Get on it all my KDP peeps :)

@@ClaudioMalagrino Even a small ad budget can be useful. Even ads with a limit of just $1 a day can make a difference! But it appears to take around 90+ days to get some good exposure / impressions. Automatic ads can be useful for research too. Will you be creating an audio book?

I've had them since around May. I made one for myself to check out. To make any money you have to price them double a normal book.
