    I've never had any issues changing the blade myself,but i appreciate your extremely informative video.

    23 minutes for what could have been told in 3-4 minutes. Took me 7 minutes to find the "major flaw".

      3 or 4 min would pull the video off search bar. Video needs to be a minimum of 8 mins. Every one of my videos are reviews, and going over the details of the product, and where possible, a comparison to a brand new product. Sorry to disappoint you.

    I've had mine since they first came out years ago. One of the original before they finally added a clip. Have never had any problems changing the blade. I use mine several times a week. So hope you figure it out. Good luck.

    Have one ... Slightly tricky first couple of times but no major flaw on mine. Or anyone else's from whst ive seen. But you got your views i guess.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  2 месяца назад

      Its not about views, the blade issue is a common problem. There are several commenter's here who have had the same issue. Unlike most people saying only good things, I only do honest reviews, if there is an issue, I state it. To make it fair, I will usually buy a second one, to test against. Sometimes the second one works, sometimes it doesn't. Either way you get to see it, as it happens.

    Just got mine today. It’s the new version with the clip.
    I’ve been trying to get the blade out for some time now.
    No luck so far .
    I am thinking of trying to use a screwdriver or some pliers.
    Any suggestions ?

      Return it and get something else, or another one.

    I did not have an issue replacing the blade. Just push hard enough, and it comes out. Put a Lennox Gold blade in mine

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  4 месяца назад

      Good choice in blade. Even with pliers I could not get the blade to release.

    • @matthewadkins9810
      @matthewadkins9810 4 месяца назад +3

      @Survival-gyver The portion that holds the blade has a tab with a dimple, which retains the blade. You just press it down and pull the blade out. I pressed it with my thumbnail

    On Amazon the top description for each color choice will say clip. Each color has distinct clip labeling and in the photos of each color way are correct.

      They do now, back when I did this video, there was no description saying otherwise.

    Helpful video. Thanks for sharing.
    Noticed the blue has a different G10 pattern.
    AMZ shows the blue color with a clip now.

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  5 месяцев назад

      The blue is glass reinforced plastic, not g10.

    I thought this multitool was thoe answer to my prayers! I do property maintenance plus i work at a grocery store so a multitool with a utility blade seemed like ot would fit all my needs but then i read the blade only has one locking position and this confirms that that the actual lock/release mechanism is poorly designed, for my uses at least. Thanks

      I thought similar, but yes, it needs alot of work.

    I have the early grey model and I found that if I lock the blade into the blade change position I can't move the little lock tab far enough to get the blade out. However, instead of locking the blade into the blade change position, if I keep the main button depressed and keep pushing the blade out of the handle, mine will go about 1/8" past the lock position and that exposes a bit more of the bendable lock tab which gives just enough extra leverage when I push it to remove the blade. I use my thumbnail to do it, but it looks like you trim yours way too short for that. It's still not easy, but it's doable.

    From what gerber said online the newer one is still g10

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  3 месяца назад +1

      Gerber's own website for the model with the pocket clip is glass reinforced nylon. So if it's G10, they need to fix their website.

    The eighth tool is the pry tool. Aslothe little nubbin is super hard to move out the way wthout a little bit of fingernail. The real flaw is the locking mechanism stops locking after a few months

      Yes, the ones with belt clips are more expensive, with a crappier handle material. Reminds me of shrinkflation

  • @staywoke2198

    Isn’t g10 and glass filled nylon the same?

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  2 месяца назад

      Good question. G10 is a high strength fiberglass laminate, while glass filled nylon is a type of plastic. G10 has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than glass-filled Nylon, which means that you don’t need as much material to achieve the same strength. Therefore, it is much lighter compared to glass filled nylon, while also being lower in cost than glass filled nylon.

    Bro thank you for making this video. I saw so many reviews so bought this a couple of months ago. Instant regret when it was a chore to change blades. I returned it instantly and just switched to milwakee fastback. I know gerber have quality control issues but i would have expected better. Honesly its put me off gerber products for life.

    • @Survival-gyver

      I was so disappointed in the prybrid. I have done alot of reviews on Gerber products, and it's a crap shoot in quality. It's really sad.

  • @oal2928

    you need to press harder dude.. for real, like the "dot" you press on needs to fall behind the blade to be able to pull it out...

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  3 месяца назад

      Even with a pry bar pushing on it, it doesn't release. Its a common failure of this tool.
