Ragnarok had just as much goofy humor in it and y’all liked it. They added so much humor because the end was so serious and sad. Respect the humor. All thor movies have had humor in them.

One theory among some fans, is that this story was told from the viewpoint of Korg, since he basically opened the movie and closed it, talking to kids. This would explain the silliness and embellishments of parody. One argument they had was that the bifrost can only go to the nine realms, and since the shadow realm and Eternity are not among the nine realms, Stormbreaker couldn't travel there, so Korg made it seem like Stormbreaker was jealous. Having thought it was too silly myself, when I heard this and rewatched the movie, it made it MUCH more enjoyable.

that theory is what made this movie watchable for me. I didn't mind some of the humor but some was so far over the top and unnecessary that it took me right out of the movie until I heard that theory. Then the humor made sense because its exactly Korg's sense of humor.

Despite the reviews, i thought the movie was pretty good. It was a lot of fun. Just wish we could’ve seen more of Gorr. And longer.

@@MVN05 WHAT. Elizabeth Olsen??!!... I'd say they don't have a clue about acting itself. The most terrifying appearance of a villain in the entire MCU were the first minutes of the Mandarin in "Iron Man 3" before they completely RUINED the character. Ben Kingsley's performance was scary af in those tv scenes. Josh Brolin as Thanos was great too...he goes on calm, and then he suddenly beats the s*** out of Hulk in IW, and Iron man, Thor and Cap in Endgame
Movie needed more Christian Bale, less silly jokes in the first half. But, I mean. That's just my opinion. Hollywood isn't paying me millions for my ideas.

The thing is Taika Waititi was given more power to make the film he wanted after Ragnarok success and he went too far in terms of the comedy with no balance between the comedy, seriousness and darkness of the story and kinda ruined two epic comic book story lines forcing too many jokes and most of them were not funny
Not a terrible bad or terrible good movie, but with a great ending.
The Goats are straight from the original Norse Saga, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, they pull his chariot.
The director is the same as was with Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi. Everybody loved the humorous style in that movie, so it looks like they gave him pretty free hands with Thor: Love & Thunder. Turns out an important part of the magic in the previous movie were the other writers working with him. Looks like Waititi can bring his silly humor, but that was his contribution, now the whole movie is just that and it doesn't work.
The latter part was definitely the better of this movie. In the end I accidentally got excited for a moment when I realized they're going to use a war hammer (well, combat mallet, but let's not get too technical) to break a sword, historically the correct use for a hammer. (Foremost to break enemy armor, but importantly also their blades.) Then we had Thor fighting the bad guy, who's god-power -leveled, both wielding swords and I actually thought we might see how Thor is the multimillennial warrior with combat experience and will actually have to show his ability with a sword (sword-like object) to defeat this opponent so they could break it. But no, it was a generic MCU fight where the hammer broke the sword once the writers decided it was time for that to happen.

Christian Bale and Russell Crowe are part of just a small group if actors that have been in *both* a DC and Marvel film.
Gorr was great. I wish he had more screen time tho. Gorr is too dark for such a ''funny'' vibe type of a movie. Probably that's why the movie felt so bad in some scenes. And probably that's why the kick ot Taika as director. Also Gorr is incredible in the comics and he look way more different. He has tenticles. Also Gorr made Thor lose his mind in the comics. And 3 versions of Thor couldn't beat Gorr in the comics too. As i said, the movie is not good, but it's not that bad either. If they could've kept more serious tone in the movie and gave Gorr move screen time so we can see him kill much more gods, would've been good.

It's the same director as Thor Ragnarok (Taika Waititi), so of course it was going to be a silly parody. I went into this movie with low expectations based on all the reviews, and came out entertainined. I wouldn't pay to watch this in theaters, but as something to just stream at home this was a fun little ride. Gor should've definitely had a lot more screentime (Christian Bale is AMAZING in any role you give him). There are a lot of complaints about how Thor was de-powered and made fun of, but the exact same thing was done in Thor Ragnarok and nobody cared because it was just entertaining. Taika Waititi movies are silly parodies, not huge serious installments to analyze plot holes and complain about power levels. Also Zeus's character was exactly on point with Greek mythology. Zeus in mythology was a huge asshole who did crazy/petty shit and threw tantrums, and they reflected that on screen perfectly :D
The movie was very fun, my only 2 criticism about the movie, is they went overboard with all the jokes, they thrown in jokes even in sad moments, 2nd is they didn't give Chritian Bale enough to be establish as The God Butcher, and he has the performance in the entire movie, we only get to see him kill one god, they should have given him more screen time to establish how threatening he is to all the gods.
The sad part is he mentioned filming a ton of stuff for the movie. They had plenty more and chose not to include it.. such a travesty

I feel like it feeling like parody is on purpose. The first half of the film Thor is detached from everyone around him, he doesn't make connections and keeps people away, is emotionless. Parody is ingenuine, it is impersonal. Once Thor becomes invested in relationships again we become invested in the movie again. He begins to care again and ends up feeling shitty rather than feeling empty, which is what the first half of the film makes us feel like. Like there are no stakes.

It would have been much better with less jokes and more time for the villain Gorr and for Jane.

I feel like Taika got caught the great reception of Ragnarok in the editing room for this movie, and just like Favreu with Iron Man 2, he overdid it with the improvisation, it's guaranteed that the next movie will have more oversight, hopefully it will be better than IM3.

Man stfu…y’all are honestly getting to cliche by copying and pasting the same comment and annoying defending bad writing. I’ve seen this stupid comment by a lot of people in every Thor 4 reaction video “Korg is narrating the story” blah blah blah, it doesn’t matter if the movie is not well written. This movie is well shot (not better than Ragnarok), the acting is carried by Bale and every other actor gave their worse performance in their respective character and the writing is horrible, one of the worse writing in the MCU.
Thor: Love and Thunder does attempt to explore themes of love and loss whilst introducing the Mighty Thor and putting Thor on a journey of self discovery. However, it sadly doesn't work as well as it should due to a rushed pace and way too many jokes that are not funny. It has a childish humor which the Director seems to be over reliant on.
Gorr is underdeveloped for the most part. He's barely in the movie. Bale gives a great performance, but the script does not flesh him out, does not explore his character, and in effect, turns him into another forgettable MCU villain. His motivation is horrible. Just because his god failed him Gorr says all gods are selfish and they only care about themselves, but his plan was to kidnap the children and wait for the gods to go get them. Literally contradicting his ideals. Bad writing.
Valkyrie never looks bothered about what
she's doing in the film and doesn't even take
part in the last battle cos "she might get
killed", despite talking to Jane earlier in the
film about how she wants her Viking death so she can get to Valhalla. More bad writing.
Overall it's just a very boring story, there's no real plot, Thor finds out someone is murdering gods (off camera) and just goes to kill him... Synopsis done, that's it! Way too much filler in the film and pointless scenes just to drag it out far longer than it needed to be while the scenes that they needed to show like Gorr killing the gods, Jane becoming Mighty Thor, etc, we're all cut. I don't care for the characters, the CGI is inconsistent, the writing is not good, the exposition is bad and the comedy is the worse of the MCU.

I think this film will open the doors for the Gods to take the center stage. Gods want a piece of the action and this movie is the catalyst for that in my opinion

Other than the overabundance of humor, lack of screentime for certain characters and screentime that didn't really tell the full story, I don't think anything went wrong with this movie.

Hi Girls from The Homies Channel Star Wars sees the Tales of The Jedi series which is only supposed to be 6 episodes where there are other Jedi stories like Anakin and his ("y. sis." ), Count Dooku and Qui-gon Jinn relationship ship and much more to see.
It's mainly about familiarizing people with characters that people who only watched plays and movies and series didn't really understand and didn't know.
So 6 episodes = 2/1 episode per video please just try it when he sees it.
The trailer was released, but if you want to be surprised, you don't have to watch it. ;)

No doubt Ellie and Viki will fail at that. Moon Sugar is unpredictable when it comes to emotions. As for Lia, she’s most likely pass the test on not crying. Same for Larry. Magy and Trixy don’t cry as much as Ellie and Viki but they’ve definitely had their fair share of such so they’re prolly just as unfortunate enough to fail that test as Ellie and Viki are.

Yeah, they constantly make fun of each other and disrespect each other over shit like emotions but Ellie told me herself that they’ve all been there for each other through good times and bad. Idk what any of the Homies have struggled over other than Ellie possibly getting Covid once, maybe even twice, but anyone who is loyal to another is a good enough friend for me. Anyone who is there for another through good times and bad is good enough of a friend for me. That’s where you find out who your friends really are. Shit. It even says in Proverbs 18:24 that a real friend will be more loyal than a brother, let alone any family member.

My beautiful Homies, I'm glad y'all are watching this (where's the She-Hulk reactions???).
In my personal opinion, this was a very, very fun movie. Yes, I know it's inferior to Ragnarok, but I still wholeheartedly enjoyed the hell out of it.
Christian Bale is one of the all-time greats in acting, and he's my personal favorite Batman. So, the fact that he's in the MCU and played Gorr the God Butcher was fascinating. Do I wish he had more screentime? Absolutely. In my opinion, he's one of the most compelling MCU villains ever. To me, the energy he had was equivalent to Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight.
Natalie Portman as Jane aka the Mighty Thor was awesome. While the first two movies didn't really showcase her talents all that well, this movie delivered on everything involving her. I adored the hell out of her. I'm sad to see her go, but I'm hopeful for her eventual return.
Chris Hemsworth, despite what others have said, is phenomenal as Thor. Over a decade into playing the character, he has truly found his stride. I can't wait for more classic Thor adventures with him.
Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie and Taika Waititi as Korg were also great highlights, especially Valkyrie. Now, I was a little bored with Korg, not gonna lie. Valkyrie, I felt like didn't have a whole lot to do. Plus, I thought she was a little shortchanged in the whole movie.
The Guns N' Roses shout-outs throughout this movie, especially the use of certain songs were incredible. The vibes throughout the movie was special. The music is also beautiful as well. Also, seeing the cosmic entity known as Eternity in live-action was shocking to see. It was also cool to see so many Gods in the MCU. I think they're gonna play a big part in the coming years of the MCU.
Plus, apparently, a majority of kids in this movie was the actual children of Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Taika Waititi. In fact, Hemsworth's daughter, India Rose, played Gorr's daughter Love in this movie (she's the daughter that died in the beginning and then resurrected at the end). Also, the wolf lady hybrid in Thor's montage at the beginning was played by Chris Hemsworth's wife. She was the woman kissing Thor in the end credit scene of The Dark World after Natalie Portman departed.
Also, despite what haters say, it is very emotional. The romance in this movie was beautiful. Also, Russell Crowe as Zeus was a highlight. The post-credit scenes, especially the mid-credit tease of Hercules in the 5th movie, are some of the best in the MCU.
If I have any negatives regarding this movie, it would be the overabundance of the humor (which I personally didn't mind), wonky CG effects and lack of runtime/character work. I personally think that an extra 10 minutes would have fleshed things out even more (just like Multiverse of Madness).
Also, in my opinion, I didn't really like the screaming goats. They annoyed me to no end. I also didn't like that the Guardians of the Galaxy, who were shown a lot in the trailers, had stupid little screentime in the movie. It was like they didn't need to be there.
Other than those complaints, I really, really enjoyed Thor: Love and Thunder. I have defended this movie to no end, and will continue to do so regardless of what any detractors say.
I can't wait for Thor 5.

I think that the writers of the movie didn't really know what to do without Loki. Face it Loki was the one who really drove the movies. Loki was the one that took action, Thor just reacted to whatever Loki was doing. he was such a great motivator. Without Loki, Thor didn't have a direction to go in until the second half. I hope Loki comes back soon.
I doubt it. Loki had his neck snapped and Thanos said, “No resurrections this time.” Remember that? I can only assume the resurrection part was a reference to when Loki apparently faked his death in The Dark World. I could be wrong on that but I really don’t think Loki actually died in the first Thor movie. I mean, look how he turned out later on in the Avengers.

I don't understand the mixed reviews on this movie. Is it perfect? No, and not all of the MCU films are. Did I enjoy it? Of course I did! Did I laugh? You bet! Did I cry? Almost, and it was when it looked like Korg died. Taika, you really had me there, mate! Was Natalie Portman badass in this movie? Absolutely! Reminded me of Padmé in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy in that she's not afraid to take action.
