To overcome depression have faith in God, God is peacefullness. Mat 6:26: "26 See the birds of heaven; they do not put seeds in the earth, they do not get in grain, or put it in store-houses; and your Father in heaven gives them food. Are you not of much more value than they?"
Phil 4:7: "7 And the peace of God, which is deeper than all knowledge, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Something to do with a Less Stressful Everyday Life!❤ ..and they tend to be much, much cheerful as they stay longer in the country.

Many Filipinos speak English with me, but I still try to learn their language. They like it when we learn their language. I find people often speak their native tongues with each other around me and I can follow the conversation better by learning their language. There is nothing worse than sitting with People talking for 1-2 hours that I can’t follow.

Hi John. For me, losing patience when spending far more time in a line up for example than what I’m used to has nothing to do with a sense of urgency. It’s more of a case of rather spending that time doing something I actually enjoy (such as exercising, cycling, playing a sport or reading a book), instead of spending much more time than usual in a line up.

@@WatchCaliforniaExpat Hi again. Upon further thought as well, I completely understand what you mean. All of us have become so conditioned to be ultra ‘time oriented’ these days that spending an extra 5 minutes on anything can often test our patience or as you say, “our sense of urgency”. Slowing down throughout our day to enjoy the moment for periods of time takes practice and is something I still struggle with. I certainly most often fill my time here in Japan with work and activities from before sunrise to well past sunset. This is the so called ‘hamster wheel’ that can be hard to step off of. Perhaps we can see moments of standing in line for example as a blessing (?). (I write this comment as it approaches 6:00pm after being on the go working all day on a landscaping project since 7:00am this morning).

The rate of immigration is very low to the Philippines. There are exponentially more foreigners from all over the world, including the Philippines, in the US compared to how few foreigners I see in the Philippines. I get the concern when there are bad behaving foreigners. But I think Philippines culture is far more impacted by what Filipinos watch and do on their phones with foreigner culture overseas than foreigners living in the Philippines

I'm a Filipina who has been to another country. Beautiful places and cold climates in other countries are just felt on the surface of our eyes and skin and yet I'm feeling alone and lonely. But being with good people around us is felt within our hearts that makes us happy. For me, it is what matters most. Anyway, in terms of climate, here in my place in Cavite just a few minutes away from Tagaytay is much cooler than there in Singapore and Malaysia. I found it so hot in those 2 countries I've mentioned. There are so many beautiful, some even magnificent places I should say here in the Philippines that other countries don't have. I am just wondering why foreigners say that the Philippines is a poor country. I worked in a family in Malaysia and live with some friends in Singapore where the way we eat here or the kind of food we eat here in the Philippines is far better than theirs. Even my house here is better than their house there. Where is the justice saying we are poor people? Yes, we have some (just some for me in comparison to the amount of our population) but many are rich and living a more luxurious life compared to them.

I fully understand the struggles of trying to adopt to a slower pace lifestyle. Unfortunately I think a lot of that comes from the culture of not understanding the value of time. Wages are low, work ethic and the understanding of time equals money does not have a place in PH yet in western cultures it is hammered into you right from a young age. We have the constitution to follow and its up to U.S. decision There are cases, we also need to be a friend of non-allies countries for economic purposes, We are not their enemy but to love exchange cultural ties and even as students. Anybody can stay here ro experience our cultures, simplicity of living even in provinces. Most of us in provinces are not spending money for cooking, washing and others For cooking we use firewoods at same time cleaning dried woods around. We have spring waters you can just store in containers for settling of impurities and for filtering. Iñ darflong areas they used military lamp at night, some wih petromax, or lpg or solar lamp. We have to learn economic ways in reducing cost. Others planting varrious fruit tress, banana, vegetables in organic and self consumptions You can stay in Philippines with $1000 dollars and you are safe. For health you can go to public health or as you wish. You have to save money if you want a high class, hospitals. We are in democracy, you have freedom to chose even in foods in restaurants. As far as the music here, I haven't heard any western or rock music here that i grew up with in the city province where I live. Ive never heard western rock sung on karaoke out here either. My wife never even heard of Elvis Presley. Again, it all depends on what part of the Philippines you're living in. The Philippines never has any western music artists or rockstars from the west perform here. Whereas, other countries such as Japan, Australia and even Russia have. The Philippines recently had an American boy band here, the Jonas Brothers. Wow. I'm thrilled. The first ones since the Beatles came here in '65 maybe? Sometimes I get the feeling they don't want band's like Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne or Metallica influencing the kids out here.
