And how he pours his heart and soul into each song as he interprets and sing at the same time. That’s why when The Journey through Neal Schon hand-picked Arnel, there was a Divine intervention in there I feel, knowing that Arnel would give justice to their songs. At the same time, God heard and make perfection, His promises to Arnel to grant his wish of recognition not only to his fellow artists in the Philippines and its audience, instead, he gave the world a new energy and a twist in Journey’s songs. I took my 72 yr old mom to the show in St Paul. She now gets it! After years, mostly in the '80's, she now gets her 40 yr old sons life soundtrack. Damn what a band...LIVE! Perry is Perry and I hope he puts out an album/tour but JOURNEY is now JOURNEY, MAN...may this show go on forever and the party never end!

WOW ! What an incredible performance of the iconic Journey !! This kind of arrangement must be very difficult for a band as it was in the street and the whole crowd was watching ( including the millions of people watching on TVs it was televised all over the world to see !!!! ) BUT given that Journey performs LIVE in many situations such as this one-- All of the band's iconic members delivered well--most especially Arnel Pineda who sings amazingly well! Spaceghost I just got back from the Journey concert. It took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. I believe the amphitheater was full, crowded way up in the lawn. It most be about 25,000 spectators. Awesome concert, confetti cannon at the end of Don't Stop Believing. A would say WORLD CUP CALIBER!
@JourneyCelebration i was at the show in tinley park and it was a blast!! i got a free ticket from a good buddy who works for a classic rock station...he called me at 4:00, and i told him hell yeah, i'd go...he got me around 4:45 and took a coach bus with other folks from a biker bar in seneca, il at 6:00 and made it to the show....we missed night ranger, but got in before foreigner started...they rocked and journey blew the place up, and my voice is still gone from yelling all night!!
Pineda did a wonderful job singing Don’t Stop Believing..He is doing a great job replacing Steve Perry although there will never be another Steve Perry.👏❤️

I'll update you with the crowd happenings at their concert tonight at the First Midwest Amphitheater, I read it seats 30,000.I guess that's small scale to your standard. I was there 2008, it looked very crowded then, why don't you BUY A TICKET & check these venues out yourself. It took us 2 hours to get in, as I recall. Let me blame the hurricane that hit Chicago on that night and not the 25,000+ who went to see their concert. People dancing in the torrential rain, now that was a sight to see!

@spaceghost30082 I beg to differ with your opinion. Steve Perry was a great singer with a very soulful voice. I listen to the old Journey songs and enjoy Steve's soothing voice. That was then, and this is now. Steve has stopped singing for many years and is probably not able to hit the same high notes. Arnel has resurrected Journey and is now the new voice of the band. He has proven himself worthy of being the new lead singer in front of hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world.
The only other guy that became a instant successful replacement in a band is Brian Johnson from AC/DC that carried on to great acclaim, Arnel is great singer.
When life is at the ends no matter how depredation or trajedy of ones cirmstance, took its toll, success is rife for the taking for the optimists, adventurous and the daring. Such is the extraordinary journey of this filipino fighting spirit in Ariel Pineda.This is a reflection and evidence that no one can stop a determined man from surviving from the cocoon of extreme poverty, to become one of great icon in pop music.
Great performance! Arnel's voice sound a bit hoarse in this performance and appears to struggle hitting the high notes. In his previous performances, he was able to hit the same high notes effortlessly that they sounded so sweet. These marathon concerts are taking a toll on this incredible singer's voice. I hope Journey would give Arnel a few days off in between concerts to rest his voice. Arnel is a great singer and I am awed by every one of his performances. Journey to the moon!

I'll update you with the crowd happenings at their concert tonight at the First Midwest Amphitheater, I read it seats 30,000.I guess that's small scale to your standard. I was there 2008, it looked very crowded then, why don't you BUY A TICKET & check these venues out yourself. It took us 2 hours to get in, as I recall. Let me blame the hurricane that hit Chicago on that night and not the 25,000+ who went to see their concert. People dancing in the torrential rain, now that was a sight to see!

@spaceghost30082 I beg to differ with your opinion. Steve Perry was a great singer with a very soulful voice. I listen to the old Journey songs and enjoy Steve's soothing voice. That was then, and this is now. Steve has stopped singing for many years and is probably not able to hit the same high notes. Arnel has resurrected Journey and is now the new voice of the band. He has proven himself worthy of being the new lead singer in front of hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world.

Great performance! Arnel's voice sound a bit hoarse in this performance and appears to struggle hitting the high notes. In his previous performances, he was able to hit the same high notes effortlessly that they sounded so sweet. These marathon concerts are taking a toll on this incredible singer's voice. I hope Journey would give Arnel a few days off in between concerts to rest his voice. Arnel is a great singer and I am awed by every one of his performances. Journey to the moon!
