    From the comics, the mutation made his cancer immortal and super powered, so it completely takes over his body. That skin look is just pure immortal cancer.

      @SighDontWantAHandle Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I thought his power was a healing factor like Wolverine, so I was curious why this skin was damaged. It makes sense now.

    • @JakkFrost1
      @JakkFrost1 2 месяца назад

      @@watchingwhateverreactionsfrom other comics, his healing factor is actually so overpowered that, paradoxically, the supercharged cancer is helping keep the healing factor in check.
      Think in terms of reality, older cells are constantly dying and being replaced by healthy ones, but what happens if the healing factor prevents the old ones from dying while new ones are still being grown to replace them?

    Ryan Reynolds is perfect and the only person who could play Deadpool how he is meant to be.

      @@watchingwhateverreactions ya it helps that in the comics Deadpool describes him self as a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a sharpei this was in a comic written in the 90s and was the first comic Ryan read and is what convinced him to be the character so he fought to get the movie made for 11 years

    "You're the Inspiration" was Chicago, before Cetera left the group. "Glory of Love" was Cetera solo, and that's the one that was in Karate Kid 2.

      Thank you for the comment. We are familiar with these songs, growing up hearing them on the radio. It's just been so long since I heard it that I couldn't remember properly. Thumbs up 👍 to you my friend for relaying the correct information. Don't worry, we're going to have plenty of these brain fart moments.

    It's mostly Ryan in the suit. They film him with and without the mask so they can get the expressions on hte mask with cgi

      I figured it was him most of the time. I didn't know that they filmed him without the mask to make the effects. That's really cool and shows their attention to detail.

    I think that the reason that everyone knows Francis as Ajax is if one of his subordinates were to try and inform the authorities on what Francis was doing it would make it more difficult because when he gets informed that someone is snitching on him to the authorities he could get out and go to a different location far enough and they wouldn’t be able to arrest him as easily or if one of the collars for the mutants that the program created had a malfunctioning control collar that allowed them to eventually report the program to the authorities they would be unable to tell them the real name of the one who runs the whole thing because they only know him as Ajax it’s probably something similar to that if I had to guess

    Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a real character in the comics, but her powers are primarily psionic. She's an emo-nihilist "anarchist", so giving herself that name is kinda like a net kiddie giving themself the name "DarkDeathGod".
    Her powers in this movie are actually more like Sam Guthrie's (aka Cannonball), minus the ability to fly.

      Comments like this one make me wish that I was able to get into the comics when I was younger. There is so much to understand and learn.

  • @WanderingCactus
    @WanderingCactus 3 месяца назад +4

    From what I understand, Negasonic has turned up in the X books now and then, and her powers are never quite the same each time, they're whatever the writer needs. Her and Colossus were used as the rights to them are dirt cheap, and the movie was on a limited budget, plus they spent a lot of the budget on the CGI for Colossus.

    mutation comes from before man with the Eternals and Inhumans I think. That was the old explanation. "In the Marvel Universe, Inhumans and mutants are both genetic mutations that give people unique abilities:
    Inhumans
    Inhumans are humans who are exposed to Terrigen Mists, which trigger a genetic mutation called Terrigenesis. This mutation gives Inhumans superhuman abilities and makes them healthier and more athletic. However, the Terrigen Mists are deadly to mutants and other mutants, including the X-Men."

    It wasn't the Weapon X program, Wolverine is Weapon X,(Weapon #10), of the same program that created Captain America (Weapon #1), the Hulk, and our favorite Merc with a mouth came later. (Not sure what number he actually is)

    The mask is CGI and real Ryan had to film all those scenes twice for it to be done where you can see the facial movements. Negasonic is a character in the comics but in there she is a minor telepath they actually contacted and got permission from Kevin Feigi to change her powers.

      @watchingwhateverreactions  3 месяца назад

      @erikhopkis9548 Ah, thank you for the info. It's always great to get additional information about the movies and characters. Now I'm interested in why they wanted to change her powers rather than writing her in with original abilities.

      @@watchingwhateverreactions I didn't mean to take so long to reply but I don't think it was ever said but most likely as the powers in the film better match her name as it's negasonic warhead and having psychic powers doesn't fit where as he power in here they said is she basically generated nuclear blasts minus the radiation of course.

    Negasonic was a one off character that was introduced as a goth precog like two panels before Genosha was destroyed killer her and like 16 million other mutants. She came back later but was never on an X team. They always come back.

      @rumbledumpthumpershaker6735 Thank you for your comment! I very much enjoy these explanations of character lore. I wonder if they specifically picked her due to costs.

    • @rumbledumpthumpershaker6735
      @rumbledumpthumpershaker6735 3 месяца назад

      @@watchingwhateverreactions Most definitely. Ryan got this movie made by making the first fight scene and leaking it online. They didn't have a lot of money to work with compared to a Disney movie. At this point there are like a hundred official X-Men members (past and present). So picking an obscure character had to be due to budget. Fox almost doubled the budget for the second one. You will see characters show up that are more known even if they aren't all top tier.

    you should adjust your rating scale. three is average, four is very good, and five is _nearly_ perfect ... I'm not aware of any movie without flaws

    • @watchingwhateverreactions
      @watchingwhateverreactions  3 месяца назад

      @BigJohnLXV Thank you for your input. Our rating scale is not your average. I decided to use Danny's rating scale as it makes me consider more about the films than just my own feelings of entertainment. Rather than saying something is average, a 2 and a 3 has me consider if something is worth recommending to others or not, and a 4 is a fantastic movie. I know it's a bit confusing, but this actually works well for us.
      Just remember that 3 means it is a good movie, a 4 is fantastic, and a 5 is a masterpiece. Of course, ratings are subjective, so it is just our opinions. We respect everyone's opinions on what they would consider good or bad and their own scoring system.
