i think the most realistic part of this entire movie is the fact the only time every world leader on the planet came together was because it involved blowing shit up.
The Earth cannot function without the Sun & Moon. they are natural heavenly objects set there forever. If the governments destroyed anything like nuking the moon then Earth's life stability would demolish. (rather quickly too.) Mission would've ended horribly wrong. Defeating the whole purpose intended by the movie. Since the movie was about "Saving the Earth." technically. the movie's premise is just inaccurately stupid in my opinion.
Frankly, our world leader are truly bored and want some action. Not to threaten our survival as a species but something they can profit from like an alien invasion.

If they have the tech to built those big engines to move the earth. They can would have no issues no problem making 1,000 of ships and make colonies on other planets out side of the solar system or just make space colonies around the other planets and moons in our solor system. Which would be a hell f a lot cheaper and easier to do
Sure. But I think Accented Cinema got the right angle - This movie depicts how the Chinese view the concept of [Home]. What is home? What is home materially and poetically? The Wandering Earth captures that concept in a Chinese way - Nature is malleable and thus the Earth can also be modified to human needs, unlike the western view that nature is god's creation/domain and cannot be significantly altered. Accented Cinema's video goes into a few different aspects of Chinese culture that make the movie an eye opener for western viewers. I highly recommend it.
@@WavilyThey built giant jet engines that house 4 billion and also push the earth. This could translate to ships that don't have to push a planet that will be a frozen rock by the time they leave the solar system.
People did the maths on "nuking the moon" or "could we terraform mars with nuclear explosions to make a thicker mars atmosphere first", and well, they overestimate the power of nuclear explosions in space, compared to masses in stable orbits. Nukes in space are not THAT bad, we just lack the amount of them. Explosions in space are inefficient mostly, because explosions turns things into clouds (where smaller things are already barely held together) , but that barely changes the speed of the mass of the cloud, and clouds quickly form back into asteroids from their own mass, large enough to not completely burn up on atmospheric entry. Explosions in space turn 1 big problem into thousands of still too big problems.
@@ollllj One problem. Mars' iron core has stopped revolving because most of it is on the planet surface as rusting iron dust from Olympus Mons volcano, meaning little magnetosphere, which means any attempts to thicken the atmosphere is futile as it will be stripped away by solar winds. At one time before Olympus Mons erupted, there might have been a nice green planet with liquid water and life, but now no. If you really want to be creative, then increase the iron core by 100% and get it spinning, then the increased magnetosphere might just be enough to retail any atmosphere you create. Hope Yosemite won't do the same to us.
lol if they just immediately stopped earths rotation somehow theyd send everyone and everything (dirt, water, sand, etc) going flying at around 1000 mph.
Surely they stop it slowly and nowhere near instantly. As they only stop the very thin solid crust of the planet, pretty much everything underground keeps spinning, and I bet that the increased friction very quickly melts the whole equatorial crust or at least causes the equator to become a ring of volcanoes, which causes the hugest mass-extinction-event by causing a snowball-earth, which unironically counters their main issues with the sun, but it also makes global cannibalism normal.
Heh, I remember the episode you did on the first movie. This movie was way better than the first. I can't place my finger on why, it just seemed more believable.

The best line by the narrator: Ofcourse the male astronaut immediately wishes to start a life with the female astronaut, anything is possible in a world where pushing the moon with rockets helps fix a problem with the Sun!! 🤣🤣
Yeah how do they plan on replenishing the atmosphere once they arrive, they might as well have created underground colonies on another planet instead of moving the entire Earth.

this movie actually feels amazing because instead of focusing on human conflicts it just skips all that and shows unity

No it doesn't. It focuses entirely on human conflict, then at the end it's about unity, or rather 'UNITY, OR ELSE'.

the thing is it mostly skips over the human conflicts with a few speeches, and most of the movie is assuming they already united@@ruekurei88
