This was a really good video, i really appreciate how he cares about hurting the fishes mouth . Its awesome when anglers still have respect for the fish. Catch and release helps theeco system. Of course we will keep some sometimes but i like to let em go and let em grow most of the time. Thanks for the video

Weight choice will depend on the depth and current speed. If you want your bait to remain stationary, 1-2 oz depending on your area should get the job done. But you also should have heavier weights in case

lol , sorry I thought my first comment didn’t post so I doubled down. Good luck to ya, I can’t get no luck this fall. I’ve been chasing after the big reds along VA beach to Ocracoke inlet NC for the past 5 weekends and come home skunked every time so far this fall. Can’t seem to get there at the right times while the bite is on ,but that’s life when you live a few hours away and have to work.

Yes I use a okuma bait runner when fishing dead bait all the time. Usually I have the bait runner in a holder- then I cast around with another rod to search for other fish.

The reason behind the lighter color on reds on the beach is because of their diet. They spend more time eating bait fish, and less time eating crustaceans.
I joined the club..but got disconnected before I finished final step and card was already charged. I am a sub of you, Brant, Ron, D, Freddie....I need help getting connected to complete

If I sign up to be a member do I get access to the course or is it extra on top of membership?
Some courses are included and other Mastery Courses need to be purchased. This is a separate course from membership

Come to the OBX if you want to deal with big waves 😃
Thanks for checking the video out!
I’m near Destin and all I can get is tiny catfish picking my bait away. Is that normal or how do yall avoid this?
Throw heads when the pickers are bad
Use the heads

would a "bait runner" type of real work?

Take a shot every time he says “species”
That’s the fun part of catching reds is letting them run
So much fun!

So Mornings & Evenings are best times to surf fish regardless of tides correct??? What particular tide cycle is best paired with morning & evening???
I've personally had the most success surf fished the top half of the rising and falling tide.

I was told reds don't hang on the beach or surf and that they prefer cover. Was told no cover like mangroves no reds...I call BS now
They like both.
For the really big ones they like the surf. For the medium to small ones, they like seagrass and mangroves.
@@jade-si3ivThank you!!!
No problem, man.
Why aren't red fish called white fish?
They are usually more red. Even those have a slight red fish
