Bruno actually grew up in Hawaii. When he was 12 his parents got divorced and he ended up moving to one of the worst neighborhoods in Honolulu - "the slums of Hawaii" as he described it, even living out of a car and in an abandoned zoo. When he came out to LA (Dr. Dre's label signed him), he lived in Mansfield Avenue, just an absolutely terrible part of LA.
