The video should explicitly state to use camera as access point and not just use any wifi. It doesn't connect to home wifi, but does work when paired with camera ssid.
it did not work for me. until 1:33 when i clicked on add device it automatically connects to my home wifi. then it says start dedicated app on target device. and it takes a long time to load. HELP pls
Why do you not show the easiest way to connect? NFC 1. Download the app 2. Unlock your phone then just tap the back to the NFC symbol on the bottom of the camera. This set up everything.
icons8.com/icon/2306/nfc-logo This is molded into the plastic on the bottom. Just touch the phone there after installing the app. Much easier than the videos way.
Thanks Tom! This is another great option. Unfortunately not all phones are compatible with NFC and we found there was some confusion. We recommend the process in these videos as we know it will work for all phones.
This didn't work for me. After I get the phone connected to the camer's wifi and pull up the app, I never get a popup that asks me to connect to the camera. It just sits in the beginning screen of the app.
It's not working for me. I tried so many times. I entered my password on the phone. Its connected but says there is no wifi connection. And on the Camera, at the same time, it's only saying waiting to connect.
Try rebooting your phone and camera, I don't have this camera yet but I can imagine it only does 2.4ghz if so just check with another phone. It might be your phone's capabilities. Then again I think most phones would have 2.4ghz. If you haven't already delete your previous entry on your phone, and perhaps you can reset the wifi broadcast name on the camera. I hope you find a solution! I guess your best bet is to try with someone else's phone.. then at least you'll know if your phone is the problem. (maybe you have a spare phone lying around)
The video doesn't do a good job explaining the different wifi options. I tried connecting to my home wifi and it doesn't work. I finally got it to connect when I used the camera as an access point and then connect my phone to that SSID.
please update the apps so we can recording a movie
Can u control it with bluetooth instead of wifi? If not, then i guess ill have to find a compatible shutter remote.

Besides of shooting, Camera Connect can filming too? I did not find this feature, if it has.
can you also set a timer on the app so you can get set up then it takes a photo 2 mins after ect? I need to be able to take photos for my thumb nails.

Can you transfer videos through the app?
Thank you. Brilliant. Do you know if I get a Bluetooth remote hand held trigger to fire the shutter on the app?
I can only connect to the camera when I'm home on my WiFi, can it also connect when I'm out and about?
Yes the camera and your phone can connect via the Canon Camera Connect app when you are out and about
Thanks, without your video (and I'm not noob) and due to the lack of instructions on the connexion process, this app just won't connect to the phone.
Thanks for the great sharing 👍💪
There is no wifi button on my G7X II - just the words "Wi-Fi" underneath the flash release button. I've given up - the app is hopeless.
It is seriously on the side of the camera.
Can we transfer videos with same quality? or just photo?
How can i extend the range between the camera with smartphone?
Thank you for your video !
Mine just keeps saying that internet is not availeble... what should i do?

Thank you . Worked much better than instructions. Saved me from a lot of stress.
Wondering if manual focus is available remotely with the app.
