I grew up with both the Gamecube and PSP versions of Cars. I think the PSP version of Cars is honestly really fun in it's own way and I'd recommend playing it along with the main version of the game. I think it's got a pretty decent selection of exclusive content like unique tracks and locations not found in the base game. More playable characters that even have unique voice lines not heard in the base game. I know that Cars Mater National has a pretty extensive modding community. One of these days I'd love to see a remake of the PSP campaign and tracks in the style of the main three THQ games. Torquetown and Ironhorse Junction in particular are probably my favorite PSP exclusive locations.
If you're good enough during the Piston Cup races on the ds version, you can end the race early by destroying all of Chick's tires, which is possible to do, just not easy without destroying yourself in the process
Fun fact: There is an unused data for the main console version called "LESSON_DRAFTING" which can be found in the game files. That means there's originally going to be a drafting mechanic in the main console version but sadly it got scrapped.
The GBA version looks a bit like a couple Neo Geo racing games, like Over Top and Neo Driftout. Those games are similarly kinda frustrating. Good video btw.
I Grew up with the DS version of Cars, and i think i still have it. It was such a nostalgic game i used to play in my childhood. I Never really remembered there were much more minigames than the stop-light minigame and the snot rod one, those 2 i remembered playing the most.
It’s crazy that my life was so shitty as a kid the only gba games I owned were cars and battle of bikini bottom looking back that shi was depressing asf

PSP had the power to be a direct port of the PS2 version... I mean, Family Guy: The Video Game was a straightforward port of the PS2 version.
underrated also the DS version reminds me of another PC-exclusive Cars mini-game collection (i forgot the name of it but i played it at one point), some mini-games are identical or very similar between them
Thank Chrysler I didn’t play the DS version when I was a kid. I remember loving Cars 2 on the DS so much, I wanted to play the others. I regret not playing MN or ROR but I’m glad I didn’t play Cars. I would’ve been overwhelmed. Also fun fact, you can do the Konami code on both GBA and DS versions to activate cheats which is cool.
I didn't know that! As for Mater-National and Race-O-Rama on DS, they're pretty good games, and I'd recommend them if you ever get the chance to play them.
Next, do “The OTHER Versions of More Pixar Games - RAMJAM” where you review the ones based on the masterpieces that are the 2000s Pixar movies that are barely even reviewed from A Bug’s Life for the Game Boy Color to Monsters Inc. for handheld Nintendo consoles of the sixth generation of gaming (Game Boy Color/Game Boy Advance) and Ratatouille (GBA).
I used to have Cars on the DS but I was literally such a stupid kid I never figured out how to use the gas pedal. I'd be Lightning McQueen just staring at the open desert EDIT: Wait it was a minigame collection? That is very odd. I vaguely remember Flo's and that's it, but it wasn't a racing game??
There are Piston Cup races where you play as McQueen, but the bulk of it is a minigame collection. You might be getting it confused with one of the other versions.
I grew up with the PSP one.. and I have to ask.. does anyone else find it weird, that some of the fonts used in the game are the exact same as the PSP's internal fonts?
I grew up with the GBA version and the console version (PS2). It never really occurred to me they were technically the same game.
I do like the music from the game
good material, as a fan of cars it was pretty entertaining

11:19 You can also get Chick to blow out his tires for an instant win but don't rely on it like the TAS video did. It isn't as easy as it looks.

“Kachow mutherf*cka! Here’s a DS game of me!”
Assuming that was the marketing

Doc looks so done with Frank 14:14
I know everything about Cars, and I didn’t know there was a Java mobile port of this game.
i hope this video keeps growing, quality is dang good for how little attention you get

I played the PS2 version the most as a kid since it was my second ps2 game
14:10 Frank: "Hello, son of a...! 😈"
have this game on gba, pretty solid imo

this was the same with the PSP version of Midnight Club 3! so many technically impressive games on that little thing!!
underrated

Cars Radiator Springs Adventures
Thumbnail got me dying . 🤣
There was an MMO, in case you didn’t know.
Also, speaking of, perhaps you can make Sonic Advance trilogy ranking?
I have a few more Sonic videos in the works for later this year, nothing covering the Advance games though. Although I might cover them at some point.
You really love cars
As much as Garfield loves lasagna.

@@Peter-Man08 I did actually play both of those game via Drastic and TwilightMenu++. I’ve missed out the underrated stuff but, I LOVED it.

@@stormyday849 thank you!
Great vid
I had the DS one, I was so sad
now you have to review every version of the Cars 2 games..
... Why I'm here?

@@Peter-Man081. Man, you're fast. Good video BTW!
2. Literally as you typed this, I found it- it was Race-O-Rama DS. Case closed!
Make for Cars 2

It was probably done to save money on creating assets.
