Yeah, nothing is going to happen to this guy because the cop who made out the report stated that the driver unintentionally drove into the channel, then lost control because of the high wind. All this guy has to do is get that cop as a witness and he likely won't face any more charges.

I understand he was concerned that his boat might get damaged, which is why we have insurance, however, someone could have been seriously injured if the houseboat went out of control. Perhaps, if he remained calm, rather than screaming like a lunatic, he could have got someones attention on the boat and directed them. A simple put your starboard in forward and port in reverse, now neutral, now both forward, would have gone a long way to getting him out of the jam. The houseboat operator was clearly try to maneuver using his steering in close quarters, which is not an effective course of operation at low speeds. Just my opinion.

They had a spark the bold for the remainder of the three days and different folks kept coming onto the boat and partying with us! fun fun fun. My buddy was arrested for reckless driving but was bailed out right away.
I work for this houseboat company now and we specific tell all our renters to not enter the channel. first reason is to avoid this problem and second reason is that lake havasu’s chanel is too shallow for a houseboat props. this guys just did thousands of dollars of damage :/

Wind may have picked up while he was out and he’s caught off guard. At that point, he should have made toward open waters and dropped an anchor until the wind passed. If he didn’t have an anchor, beach it somewhere else and stay away from the dock and this narrow channel. Everyone aboard my boat is briefed on the role the weather has on our disembarkation and embarkation. My boat’s and everyone else’s safety is paramount to your personal schedule. I feel bad for this captain.
