I have made orange curd before and was very pleased with the flavor... thank you for another version... your version looks to be very luxurious with the extra yolks and I will try that. I think this one might be nice in a tartlet with a whipped cream topping and a stick of candied orange peel for garnish.
I have a cumquat tree and get kilos of fruit from it every year. I make cumquat curd and freeze it in jars. It's just divine with that slightly bitter flavour, softened by the butter, and the grandchildren love it on toast or croissants for breakfast as a special treat.
@@geoffsbakingblog They look and smell like small mandarins, but they're unbelievably sour with a hint of bitterness. They make delicious marmalade and they're often used in middle eastern cooking. My daughter makes a wonderful Moroccan targine dish with them. Every cumquat season at our place on the Queensland coast is a challenge.

Hi Tarah, yes you can do it with any citrus fruit and it will work well. But I have slightly different recipes for Lemon Curd and for Passion Fruit Curd. I will put links to the videos below. HI Maria. I noticed that some of the sugar had stuck to the bowl it was in. So I simply picked the bowl up and again and scraped that little bit of sugar out.
The Orange Curd recipe looks and I am sure will be so lovely like all your recipes are. Thank you dear Geoff. If I may I am sending a little gift of love with a You tube video that i follow and love here it is.I all all fur babies and this man called Christopher Ameruoso plays music and sings to them. They are all rescue and saved . You Tube Christopher Ameruoso Parrot Experience Music for the first time. Enjoy. Blessings Pat
@@geoffsbakingblog Thank you Geoff. I love birds and feed them everyday in the garden. They help me deal with the passing of my little fur babies. Max and Julie. Bless them all. I'm so disappointed, I tried making this but it ended up in the bin, even though I followed the recipe thoroughly it curdled slightly and was completely spoiled. Particularly annoyed that a whole pack of butter was used in the recipe. I'm very disappointed and upset.
HI Barbara. I am sorry your curd didn't turn out well. As you can see from the video the recipe does work. I can only assume that either the mixture was heated too quickly and wasn't stirred/whisked enough. Certainly heating slowly and whisking constantly will prevent curdling. However even if the mixture does curdle slightly it can be passed through a sieve to strain out any curdled parts.
Yummy. Thanks Geoff. Try it between carrot cake layers with cream cheese frosting on top and sides.
Hi Spiderbirdie. That's sounds good.

HI Julie-Joy. Yes it would be great in a tartlet I am sure.
Thanks for the video. Now I have heard of orange curd. Yes, it must taste very, very good.
Oh yes, I love the taste of this curd.
Making this as an accompanying, dish for duck. My sister loves duck x
Hi Miss Dream. That's nice. I hope your sister enjoys this as an accompaniment.
Great recipe, Geoff, I will definitely give it a try soon.
Hi Foodie Harrelson. Thanks very much. I hope you enjoy the curd when you make it.

Hi Viv Locke. That sounds delicious. I don't think I have ever tasted cumquat, I shall have to investigate.

HI WH Davies. That's great. I hope you enjoy it.
I have made lemon and a lime curd but not orange, it does look very tasty Geoff.
HI Wendy. It was very tasty indeed. Of course, much more mellow in flavour than lemon, or lime. But very good.
This is a great video thank you
Could you do this with any citrus fruit?

Bet this is yummy
Hi Sunburn. It tastes very good indeed.
Would it be nicer if you whisk eggs with sugar, juice, rind then add butter?
HI Dan. I don't think it makes a great deal of difference either way.
