A Christian's treasures are placed in Heaven when we live out the Greatest Commandment in Mark 12, which is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself (paraphrased, but the context around that event is incredible). Dr. Heiser really broke the mold, and I love how in love I am with the Old Testament now. A great teacher is something to be held in high regard, and I have not seen a false note in any of Dr. Heiser's lectures.

I was planning on going to law school, but I'm feeling led to get a Master's and a Doctoral degree in Theology, and I am in prayerful discernment about it. I see a lot of Biblical illiteracy that needs to be addressed in the Body of Christ. Unlike Heiser, my favorite aspect of Scripture is what is to come. However, I do not marry my mind with any particular belief on timelines, because the Lord wins. However, we are told over 30 times to watch for these things in the NT so we will not be deceived.

So true. Sadly, we're a lot closer to the end of things than most can imagine. When Trump came along God opened this born-again Jews eyes to where we are. 2Thess2:11 is exactly today. It's not out there far off, it's now. Luke 21:24 is fulfilled. Times almost up. Are you watching and praying or watching TV and playing games? It's the image of the Beast that brings all the false prophets and thieves. Rev 13:11-16 is America. Two horns like a Lamb? Jesus is the Lamb. Right-wing Christians and Catholics are NOT FOLLOWING JESUS. 1946themovie proves the Bible is not anti-gay. Compare Exodus 13:16, Rev 13:16 & Matt 5:29. The Mark of the Beast is SIN. 666=man making himself God. Same old story from the Garden of Eden. The Mark of God is the Holy Spirit. John 3:3. Most aren't being born of the Spirit because most Christians don't turn around (repent) from the world and its way. Right-wing bigotry and left-wing idolatry killed Christianity. I'm a born-again gay Jew. Times are up. Luke 21:24

I think it's an important issue in so far it impacts our walk with Christ and obedience. I'll tell people that if your eschatology doesn't produce encouragement, hope, endurance, and urgency towards the great Commission then you're probably thinking about it wrong. I don't think the Rapture theology does those first 3. It encourages an escapist mindset and dualism. Besides that I can see the merit in historic premil, amil, and post mil positions.

I begin with the premise that the truth in scripture is knowable and that a false translation and/or interpretation will always result in a conflict with other verses or themes in the Bible. The one who gets it right is the one who has arrived at a translation and/or interpretation that harmonizes and does not conflict with the Bible. Having studied the Bible for over 120,000 hours, I believe the premises I just laid out are of uppermost importance. If the truth is not knowable, then we have all wasted our time and we might as well toss out our Bibles. Paul says something similar when he says if there is no resurrection then we are all lost, our faith is in vain, we are to be pitied over all others (paraphrased for clarification).

The theologies that take place in the phenomenal or real world, i.e. eschatology or say dispensationalism or new covenant theology - these are the ones that are most challenging in terms of difficult. These are the most with the most significant pain points with no current resolution. The theologies however that are metaphysical in scope, these are the ones with the least problems (e.g. Calvinism or Justification by Faith alone).

    TOMORROW’S FEARS - Lili
Tomorrow when you wake again and find the world’s still here
With all the zest of yesterday to sadden or to cheer
There was no massive holocaust, no dead raised from the ground
His promise to float you up, journey to your trials
Will have to wait another day, trepidation all unfound.
And when this happens every day throughout the years to come
Will your faith grow stronger or will the doubts creep in?
No planning for the future here or there, your life embroiled in sin
For if he only takes the perfect, whose life on Earth was pure
What of the human aspect, into the fire succumb.
The holy ones judge each other, before the judgment day
From the pulpit condemn, decry, their fellow travelers as impure
The Judges of the Judges before the Earth implodes
And everyone made to account, the strongest voice not sure
A life of prayer gone all to waste, as confidence corrodes.
Why worry of a future bleak, why think of future fears
For if you try to change your fate, the world goes on unheeded
There’ll be no Tribulation, Man’s destruction his own doing
No God above, no day in Court, no casting out, all regrets unneeded
Why worry of the rantings of those who think they know
Of Spirits of the Underworld, pain and bliss, imaginations flow.
Just take what comes, tell your God of hate
Your life is not for him, your only life is yours
So be it if you shun control, he won’t control your fate
Your life on Earth is not to live with fear and shame and guilt
The guilt is his, he made the snake, he cannot now berate
Berate us for being human, Why then the potters hand did shake?

The clearest way of explaining the milinial kingdom is by its discription. Chrst will rule with the saints. These saints are those who have died in Christ. This is before we receive our reserected bodies. Therefore it cannot be an Earthly kingdom The thousand years is explained by the people in those times didn't have a word for infinity. They would use the largest number they had to substitute which at that time was 1000. So the milinial meant an undetermined amount of time. So Christ rules as our King from the right and of the Father with the saints and will until Christ returns to judge the living and the dead. That's what the early church believed and makes the most sense. IMHO

Don’t think Matthew was treating Hosea as if it were a prophecy directly. Seems likely he was drawing a parallel between Messiah and Israel to point out that like Israel Messiah would depart Egypt. However, where Israel would subsequently fail Messiah would inevitably succeed. This was to demonstrate to Israel that it’s election was not an end of itself, but to serve a higher purpose, which was to bring forth God’s true Son, the coming Messiah. Therefore, Hosea was in fact making an indirect reference to Messiah, which was what Matthew was alluding to.

I'm going to post what God showed me from His word on the topic of the pre-trib rapture. I leave it up to you the reader to let God speak to you about this explanation . God pointed me to a passage of scripture that no one ever seems to start with as a basis for understanding this topic...because it is the bedrock . Originally, John wrote this to warn of teachers who claimed Jesus did not inhabit a physical body, and left no footprints when He walked, but it also applies to another form of attack on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
    1st John 4:1-3
" Dear friends, do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see if they are from God because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God but every spirit that DENIES that Jesus came in the flesh is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist whom you have heard is coming and even now is in the world."
What does this have to do with the pre-trib rapture? Notice John's emphasis on Jesus Christ coming in the flesh because that was the only way He could take our sin upon Himself when He died on the cross. But...He also took something else upon Himself...God's WRATH...the WRATH we deserved for our sin. So when anyone teaches or believes that the Church will go through part or all of the Tribulation, which IS the WRATH of God on all Christ rejectors, they are in effect saying that Jesus never dealt with our WRATH problem on the cross. This is a form of DENYING that Jesus came in the flesh. Such teaching undermines the person and work of Jesus, and what did John say is behind this? The spirit of antichrist...the demonic.
Now, look at how Paul aligns with this understanding when he wrote to the Thessalonians on the topic of the rapture and Tribulation ..."You are NOT appointed unto WRATH..." everybody stops there, but look at the rest of the sentence ..."but to obtain SALVATION through Jesus Christ our Lord." Right there in that sentence Paul ties the pre-trib rapture back to the work of Jesus on the cross where SALVATION includes dealing with God's WRATH so the Christian will not be subject to it during the seven year period of WRATH called the Tribulation.
It is helpful to remember that Jesus and the cross are at the centre of everything including prophecy, so it's always best to start there. At the end of Revelation we read " The testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy".

    • @Used777_07
      @Used777_07 3 месяца назад

MarkAnthony... The wrath of God is the Second Death. No one in Christ will experience that (Rev 20:6). There is no “7-year” tribulation written in Scripture; that arose from those who claim a Pre-Trib Rapture, which proposes a 2nd and 3rd coming of Christ, also not in Scripture, and that God can't count and has taken 2,000+ years to complete the 490 year prophecy of Daniel's 70 weeks. That position is in error, the 70th week (7 years), was fulfilled by Jesus and the Apostles. Christ can return at any minute for the resurrection and judgment; most of Revelation has already taken place during these 1000 years (an indeterminate long time), between His first and second comings.

And if you can't...then obviously you are wrong! Fact is, your understanding of scripture is so muddled that only help from God could straighten you out. Yes...I could disprove everything you say...but in Proverbs God warns me " Correct a fool lest he think he is wise in his own eyes"..."Don't correct a fool or you will be a fool yourself" . The bottom line? You'll can't win with a fool. With that wisdom in mind...I leave you to your folly.

    God says to Israel:
“‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord,
‘I will frown on you no longer, for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord,
‘I will not be angry forever’” (Jer. 3:12)
“‘Return, faithless people,’ declares the Lord, ‘for I am your husband. I will choose you . . . and bring you to Zion” (Jer.3:14).
The Bible refutes a belief in a "divorce absolute" between YHWH and Israel. This means replacement theologians have judged unrighteously by claiming YHWH gave Israel a final divorce and replaced Israel with the Body of Christ. Israel is still the "Bride" to be perfected and married to the "Body" to fulfill all the prophecies relating to Israel.
While the Bible legislates human divorces, in the passages above, YHWH has different rules when it comes to dealing with Israel's divorce.
Human divorce is final, however, a man and his former wife can be married to each other again if the woman has remained single after their divorce.
Humans can fall away from YHWH and still be reunited back to him.
I see distinctions between the northern and southern kingdoms, but I still see all 12 tribes as Israel in end time prophecies.

In Daniel 9 the End of the Seventy Weeks is stated before their beginning. At the conclusion of the seventy weeks, the following blessings are fulfilled:
    1. to finish transgression,
    2. to put an end to sin,
    3. to atone for wickedness,
    4. to bring in everlasting righteousness,
    5. to seal up vision and prophecy and
    6. to anoint the most holy.
The above blessings have not been fulfilled. Jesus' atonement certainly made those blessings possible, but "sin" and "everlasting righteousness" will only come to an end and reign on earth when Jesus returns and reigns as King. (Revelation 20:4-6)
Jesus made atonement for sin (Daniel 9:24)
Atonement by his death, "will be cut off” (Daniel 9:26).
"He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken."Isaiah 53:8
Isaiah identifies the Servant of Isaiah 52:13-53:12 as Jesus the messiah in Acts 8:32-35.
    Matthew 24:30; 26:64
Jesus calls himself the "Son of Man" coming with clouds. This is described in Daniel 7:13-14.54
Jesus delivers his people from an evil tyrant and establishes the messianic kingdom which parallels the description of the Anointed One and his work in Daniel 9:24-27 and 55.
The preterist says end time events already took place in 70 A.D..
    The Time Gap:
With the exception of heretics, all Christians believe in a time gap from when Israel is cut off in Romans 11 to when the Body of Christ is removed and the "Time of Jacob's Trouble" and the Kingdom Gospel is preached once again. This is a time in which Israel's prophetic plan is rekindled, the time gap ends at the rapture.
This time gap, filled by the Age of Grace, is not arrived at by employing an allegorizing hermeneutic, but rather, by believing what the Bible actually tells us. Christ Jesus will come again (Lk. 18:8; Jn. 14:1-3; Acts 1:11; Rev. 22:20). There will be a literal fulfillment of the kingdom on earth, and Israel will rule over the nations as priests.
The 70 Weeks prophecy is not at all unusual in containing a long time-gap between one aspect of its fulfillment and its final consummation. In many other OT prophetic passages there are predictions of a first and a second advent placed together without any apparent gap between them. An example is Micah 5:2:
“2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out from you will come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient times."
    REV Bible.
Nobody doubts the literal truth of this prophecy when it speaks about a). the place of Messiah’s birth, or, b). the prophecies of the coming Messiah as originating in the days of old.
The dispensationalist view (literal, grammatical, historical) is that Jesus will indeed rule over Israel in the future. Those who prefer the allegorical approach say that Christ Jesus is now ruling spiritually over the Body of Christ, which replacement theology claims is the “New Israel.” Dispensationalists will look for a more literal interpretation of this prophecy. Why wouldn't we, since this is not the only prophecy about Jesus ruling over ethnic Israel that is yet to be fulfilled (Isaiah 9:6-7; Jeremiah 33:14-17; Luke. 1:31-33).
Another example of a Gap is in Matthew 24.
No one denies the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. however, in Matthew 24 other events are described that have not taken place from verses 21 to 51.
"for at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and it will never ever happen again." Matthew 24:21
Surely all the world wars and mass killings of the last century are worse than the events of 70 A.D.! The tribulation will top all events throughout history and we will never see such tribulation on earth again. That hasn't happened.
Jesus confirms the gap in prophetic fulfillment of the covenant promises to Israel in Luke 4:18-19, when he enters the synagogue and opens the Book of Isaiah.
In Luke 4:18-19 Jesus quotes Isaiah 61:1 and part of verse 2.
    1. "The spirit of the Lord Yahweh is upon me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound,
    2. to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor,"
Jesus leaves out the last part of verse 2 which reads: "and the day of vengeance of our God: to comfort all that mourn."
This last part that Jesus didn't read is separated from what he did read by a comma. Why didn't he finish reading verse 2? Because Jesus only spoke the words his Father told him to speak, that's why!!
The part of the verse Jesus did not mention represents a long period of time, for nearly 2,000 years have passed and there has not been any "day of vengeance."
Why did Jesus stop reading where he did? Because Jesus had not come to fulfill that part of the prophecy. He fulfills that part at his second coming. This absolutely crushes the preterist view.
Now Look at Matthew 16:28 and it becomes obvious Jesus thought the Kingdom would come in the lifetime of his disciples. But that never happened. THEREFORE, something happened that YHWH had not revealed to Jesus, because after his resurrection his followers ask him:
“Wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” Acts 1:6,
Jesus answers by telling them it was not for them “to know the times or the seasons which the Father hath put in His own power.”
So, now we see that after the resurrection, the coming Kingdom is no longer part of the message for Israel until a later date. The kingdom was postponed or withdrawn until the end of the tribulation which takes place after the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled. Romans 11:25
The Gospel given to the apostles is still distinctly a Jewish message until Acts 13 when Paul is called to a new ministry which includes a new message and a ministry of reconciliation in which both Jews and Gentiles become equals.
The point of all the above is that Jesus cannot be God if he was unaware of the coming change in plans. Jesus only spoke the words his Father gave him to speak. For whatever reason, YHWH chose to not tell Jesus that his Kingdom was about to be postponed. Conclusion: Jesus is not God, Paul preached the same message as Peter for 14 years, from Acts 9 to the beginning of Acts 13. There is no record of any conflict between their messages until Act 15.
There are other examples for time gaps in prophecies, but the above should be sufficient for any reasonable man. No amount of evidence will convince and unreasonable man.

Revelation 4 is NOT a rapture. It is a vision of what is coming hereafter. It literally says that. There is no mention of anyone except John.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 - Tribulation is what the beast does to the earth. Wrath is what YHVH does to the beast, So, yes. We are delivered from the wrath. But, that has nothing to do with the great tribulation.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 - The opposite of wrath is salvation. The beast does not have the authority to make that decision.
Jesus said the days of the tribulation are shortened for the elect's sake. If the elect are gone, shortening the days would be of no consequence to them.
Jesus gave instructions to His disciples for life during the tribulation. If they weren't going to be here, there would be no reason to do that.
He said immediately AFTER the tribulation, the elect would be gathered.
Throughout the NT, the church is called the elect.
      Matthew 24:22-31, Mark 13:27, Luke 18:7, Romans 8:33, Romans 11:5, Colossians 3:12, 1 Thessalonians 1:4, 2 Timothy 2:10, Titus 1:1, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 Peter 5:13, 2 Peter 1:10, 2 John 1:1, 2 John 1:13

The heart must come first before we can have Gods knowledge of his will for us. I have nothing against him but where is the teaching anointing? Where is the worship? Worshiping intellect and how smart we are to figure out words on their own is all mans doing. The Holy Spirit has to give us the truth or we do not know it or know that we know anything. We need the Holy Spirit to confirm all we believe. The anointing is so powerful people we speak to while anointed end up affected and want to come to Jesus! Even strangers will see Christs love and become believers right away! Did this man lay hands an heal? Did he cast out demons on others? If not he did not believe what Jesus told us to do was meant for us to do. I did not know either till Jesus told me himself and showed me what to do. He set me free. I live in constant joy unspeakable full of glory. I wake up laughing with joy! I sing to God all day long and I read the bible for many hours. I wake up early to read a good portion of the bible each day. I have read it through in a single sitting. I could never do that before I got baptized in the fire.
The more we intellectualize the less we are sure of. These teaching seem to be confusing people and have man arguing that Heizer was too smart to be wrong about anything. People want someone to think for them.

This is a great lecture to prove the biggest mystery of all. Which most people over look for some odd reason, or is someone twisting scripture. Hear me out. Think about what this man is saying and ask why is he asking so many questions? Also, it is really hard for me to tell if this man belongs to GOD, because he could be challenging your thoughts to come to his conclusion, or he really is deceived. Listen close now. The disciples asked Jesus why he spoke in parables, what did they say: “And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. So, Gods children are those who have Faith. Faith in what? The first girl to answer wasn’t just guessing. She was in fact correct. Here is what the writer of Hebrews said, 11:1 kjv “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” So the main question to ask the professor is this? What is hoped for and why can’t you know what the mysteries are?

And to piggyback off that; the king james Bible says in the book of Revelation ch 19:10 that “Jesus Christ “is” the spirit of prophecy! Which is completely at odds with this lecture. I have known the mysteries from the time that I accepted and then studied the word. Most people, like you say, are listening and following another man and possibly their beliefs in something. However, if we stay in the book, the book of John states in ch 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Which is awesome to think about, really! I understanding things I do from the mere fact that I study the word (2.Timothy 2:15) have faith in Gods Holy Spirit to teach me “ALL THINGS REMEMBERED”. Which piggy backs right off what David’s prophecy said in 12:4 “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” And most will not listen to me because, “And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.” Matthew 13:14-17 kjv And “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

19:00 On the 70th week of Daniel being 7 years of the Tribulation is not an assumption but a conclusion based on a lot of reasoning. It does a disservice to sincere, eschatological theologians to call it an assumption. 1) If you are going to critique the views of theologians, you need to fully understand their reasoning and the basis for their reasoning.
      2) While I completely understand the thought of simply reading the source material, Scripture, this limits one's exposure to others who may have been led by the Spirit and come up with solid interpretation/understanding. I struggle with this myself in that, on one hand, I can put my faith in Scripture and the Sprit and, on the other hand, God has called others to also read and interpret and pass along to others.

      Zephaniah 3:20 King James Bible
At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.
      Haggai 2:21 King James Bible
      Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;
      Zechariah 14:20 King James Bible
In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
      Zechariah 14:21 King James Bible
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
This is the reason why the disciples asked the Lord Jesus:
6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Acts 1)
Notice here, the Lord Jesus did not say they are wrong that the kingdom they are waiting for is a spiritual kingdom. Instead, the Lord Jesus tell them it is not the time yet. Then when will this literal physical kingdom come?
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19)
This is the time, when the Lord Jesus come back from heaven with us to judge the antichrist and false prophet and their armies. The Lord Jesus will set up his millennium kingdom.
This is the time, the Lord Jesus gather his elects:
29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24)
Which is prophesized in the Book of Ezekiel:
7So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.11Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. 12Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. (Ezekiel 37)
You are right, when we are in Christ, we are one group, whether Jews or gentiles.
But there is also another group that the Lord will save, which is the nation of Israel.
But do you see the problem here? If you do not know the difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God, you will automatically think that Matthew 24:29-31 is talking about the rapture of the church, which makes you think the church is raptured after the tribulation. However, it is actually talking about the gathering of the nation of Israel, which are Jews.
      Doctrines matter.

Michael Heiser did not achieve anything with his 'open' view on the eschatology. Remember, God is not the author of confusion. The reason why he can't get the definite answer is because he is using ESV as his main Bible. If you rightly divide the God's words in the KJV, you can't be confused.

@@LastFellowship There is a reason why there are ‘KJV-onlyists’ but not ‘ESV-onlyists’ or proponents of other modern translations. I encourage you to explore all perspectives and decide for yourself, as I did. Some KJV-onlyists may have weak support for their views because they haven’t studied enough and simply follow their favorite preacher’s beliefs. However, in my case, I tried to debunk KJV-onlyism but ended up becoming a KJV-onlyist myself. I found that it is the only translation that remains without contradictions and exhibits undeniable signs of divine inspiration, such as numerical patterns unique to the KJV, established long before the invention of personal computers. For more information, you can watch Brandon Peterson’s video on this topic. You can say all kinds of harsh things to me, but I will speak the truth. You will always be confused and will never get sound doctrine if you use other modern translations and not the KJV.

He is saying that he thinks it impossible that someone can read a passage of scripture with no preconceptions. I disagree. I think it is possible to read a passage and allow what you read to form a concept.
As an example, someone reads 1 Thes. 4 and 5, with no idea whether the rapture comes before wrath, or wrath before the rapture. They read of the catching up in 4:17, then read of the Day of the Lord (also called the Day of His wrath in Revelation) three verses later in Chapter 5. The reader can then believe that Paul's order would be the catching up first, then God's wrath beginning after the catching up. They did not assume any position beforehand: they allowed the TEXT to show them God's intent in the passage.

Rick, no one has to presuppose a rapture. Paul wrote it and it became a part of the written Word of God. What many people disagree on is the question of when. Again, I don't think people have to pre-suppose the timing either. Paul wrote of the rapture (4:17) and three verses later mentions the Day of the Lord - just as if the two: rapture and Day of the Lord, are in some way connected. I believe they are connected: sometime during the rapture event, Jesus is going to open the 6th seal to begin the Day of the Lord.
I think this is confirmed in Revelation when John saw the just-raptured church in heaven as that great crowd, too large to number, right after the 6th seal.

@@LyleCooper Again, a presupposition. Paul didn’t write about a rapture. As a matter of fact the rapture is a modern construct. It didn’t exist for 18 centuries in Christianity. You negotiated with the text, using a presupposition, and came to an erroneous conclusion.

Of course Paul wrote about a rapture or a harpazo: to forcibly snatch away. We find The Latin Vulgate translates the Greek ἁρπαγησόμεθα as rapiemur, where we get our English word, rapture.
      Latin Vulgate
4:17 deinde nos qui vivimus qui relinquimur simul rapiemur cum illis in nubibus obviam Domino in aera et sic semper cum Domino erimus
      King James Version
4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
I believe you know this is found in your bible too. Perhaps then, what you are denying is what happens AFTER we are caught up together to meet the Lord in the air. Is that where we disconnect? We have at least three choices from there, since Paul did not specify.
We can all stay indefinitely in the air about some part of the earth.
We can descend back down to earth.
We can be taken to heaven.
Do you agree with one of these three? If not, then what do you choose after we are caught up?
" It didn’t exist for 18 centuries" I was not there for any one of those centuries, so I cannot say one way or another. A better question would be, what did Paul's students believe? I believe Ephraem or Pseudo Ehpraem may debunk your 18 century theory. Here is a quote:
""For all the saints and Elect of God are gathered, prior to the tribulation that is to come, and are taken to the Lord lest they see the confusion that is to overwhelm the world because of our sins.""
Question: Where is the church in Rev. 19?

Maybe we need to begin with "Good Morning." Please define "rapture" so we can begin on a level field.
I think most of the Christian world that believe in a rapture use that word to include the catching up of both the dead in Christ and those who are alive and remain in Christ who will be changed as they are caught up. Once both groups are in the air, then together the Bride will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air.
I accept this definition also. Paul never said where Jesus would take us from that point in the clouds where He was waiting.

Paul said after that we who are alive and left we will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
When we read this in the English translation, it sounds like to us that it is a verb action, we are going to meet - but in reality, this is a noun. The literal reading of that is“to a meeting in the air with the Lord”. To a meeting… It is not a verb action, but we are going to a meeting in the air.
This word “a meeting” is only used four times in New Testament. Of course one of them is right here where Paul describes the second coming of Christ.
*It is used in Acts 28:15, where Luke is talking about the Christians in Rome who are going out to meet the Apostle Paul.
*It is used in Matt 25 by Jesus in the parable of the Virgins. Verses 1 & 6 when he talked about the wise virgins who went forth to meet the Bride Groom.
And this word seems to be a technical term that was use to describe an official welcome for a newly arrived dignitary. When an official came to the city, to pay an official visit, certain citizens of the community… a group of qualified citizens, would go forth to a meeting with him to escort him on to the final stages of his visit.
This is the picture that Paul is giving to us of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The saints of God both the living and the dead will go forth to a meeting in the air.
Hebrews 9:28 - Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation.
Greek word “appear” - optanomai. It means to be seen or appear or become visible.
Just as when Jesus came the first time he was seen, so he will be seen when he comes the second time, but… it is going to be much different.
The first time he came, he took on the nature of a man, he was seen as a man. But the second time he comes… the second time we are going to see him in all his glory.
We can’t imagine what it is going to be like. Peter says “but rejoice in much as you participate…. You may overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”
John writes: 1 John 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
Imagine the glory… of seeing Jesus as he is. We can only imagine now what it is going to be like when Jesus comes back the second time, and we can finally see him and behold him in all his glory.
You see, the word Rapture does not exist in scripture. It was made up in the 1830s... No one at any time ever heard the word before that time... and so they had to build a fake teaching around it and take you on a merry-go-round trip of the Bible to try to explain something that does not exist.

@@jonlanier_ Those are minor typographic errors, unlike other modern translations which literally change the meaning. The KJV is the final true word of God. It can't be viewed as a mere translation. Just because God started with the Hebrew language doesn't mean the final Bible should be in the original language. English is the most influential language of the current era, and God already knows it. Check all the numerical patterns (which I consider God's authentic seal) that only work on the KJV and not other modern translations. Check Brandon Peterson's video on that, and you can't argue that the KJV is not perfect. It is mathematically perfect and doctrinally final, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
