I just learned of him recently, about three months ago and I'm also glad
I was sad when he died last year. But now with all this craziness I rejoice the Lord take him home. I can imagine him enjoying the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Mr. Pawson speaks in slow rhythm, but full of wisdom. Not like many eloquent academics, speaks very fast, only full of unnecessary knowledges.

I’m so thankful that he isn’t teaching the lies of the rapture. So many are going to fall away when they realize they’ve been deceived. I would rather be prepared for the worst than have some unbiblical false hope.
dmblilgirl23 You are right. I recently encountered a woman who believed in the Pre-Trib rapture. She was all about "I love Jesus! "I can't wait to see him." When someone proved that the rapture does not come before tribulation she , in her own words, "Went back to drinking because as a woman who could not have babies I have already had enough tribulation."
Some part of this sermon remains me of a passage from a Good Friday poem:
"I said to my soul, be still, and let the dark come upon you

The lights are extinguished, for the scene to be changed..."

Matthew 24 is all about the JEWS! THESE JEWS will flee to the mountains for the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation..God will SUPERNATURALLY feed and protect them until Christ returns to the earth.

If you read the first three verses of chapter 24 ( which he skipped), the disciples clearly ask about two separate events. When will the temple be destroyed? And When is his return? The temple was destroyed in 70ad, some of this prophecy is referring to that event. It is incorrect to apply all of chapter 24 to end times.
@Jackfrost not sure what I need to explain. Applying the whole chapter to the end times is incorrect. Jesus is answering the disciples two questions.
You are correct. There are two questions: When will the temple be destroyed; and what will be the signs of His return and the end of the age. These two questions are related, and the answer to the timing is the same: before that generation passed away. These two chapters speak of the end of the Mosaic age and the beginning of the age of grace. This happened in A.D. 70 with the destruction of the temple and the Jewish priesthood.
We know that both questions are related because the part of speech joining them (in Greek and English) is a conjunctive adverb. When it is preceded by a comma, the two statements are related, or dependant. When it's preceded by a semicolon, the two statements are independent. The translators were very careful to capture this essence and carry it through into the English.

Pawson says that looking at Israel in "no way" helps us understand when Christ will return. Depending on the interpretation of Zechariah 14, this is incorrect. Assuming Zechariah 14 to be literal, just before He returns Israel will have been invaded: "the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.…In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives," Refer to the remainder for further details.

I really love David Pawson but respectfully he is wrong about the frequency of earthquakes (and volcanoes, fireballs, etc). I am a mathematician and computer science engineer. I did an in depth study of just thus question - it turns out that they have all increased. Not because of variances in media or populations or geography but in the actual number of events. I did this study back in 2003 and even then, I calculated a 400+% (!!!) increase in earthquakes alone in the four decades I reviewed at that time (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s).
In case you're interested, yes, the average magnitudes of these have also ticked up quite significantly, though I can't recall the exact percentage. The increase in frequency was alarming enough that it seared into my brain.
And that was 2003!
Can you imagine if the study was repeated today?
Well it's not as easy to get the real data as it was back then.
Which I guess is an indicator that the powers that be don't really want that information publicized these days. Which in itself testifies to an exponential increase so alarming the best they can do is distract?

I use to think the last days started at Pentecost. What I have discerned is that The Last Days has two applications. The last days of the OTage and the last days of the NT age.

Maybe not "end times", but Daniel uses the terms 'end time' (no s) and 'time of the end' several times in 8:17,19, 12:4, 11:29, 35, 40
4:59 amen. every generation, every individual is expected to joyously/eagerly look for the coming again of our lord. the writers of scriptures in greek encourages believers to do so: "maranta." deceivers through out history have predicted the "end of the world" with material preparations. only daily strengthening our faith in god through the knowledge and practice of his word can help us overcome the challenges when it comes to our lives.
Matthew 24 and 25 is future except few verses at the beginning of chapter 24 about the temple construction.
He comes in the Glory of the Bride =body! those doing the will of the Father, to follow Christ in obedience & holiness of Truth
I'm sorry to say that he is incorrect as to the Rapture. If he would read in the book of Daniel, chapter nine, there we find mentioned the 70 weeks of Jeremiah's prophecy, speaking of 70 "weeks of years" or 490 years. The first 69 weeks, or 383 years, has been fulfilled, perfectly, at the time of Christ's crucifixtion. As Daniel puts it, "He will be cut off, and have nothing". i.e., Jesus did not take His kingdom at that time, for His people would not have Him. Before this, e said to His disciples," upon this rock ( Peter's testimony as to who He is,), I will build My church. Since then, His church has been "under construction", as we get in 1 Peter 2. There is still the last week of Jeremiah's prophecy to be fulfilled, 7 years. 1st Thessalonians 4 speaks of the Lord's coming FOR His saints, to take His Church, as well as the old testament saints Home, BEFORE the 7 years of tribulation begins,. ( 1 Thess. 5 begins with post-trib., after the Church is gone. Christ will never put His Bride through such a trial.! We have been delivered from the wrath to come!) That period will begin shortly after this takes place, and will be divided into two parts, each of 3/1/2 years. The last 3 1/2 years is called the great tribulation at which time the Antichrist will present himself in the temple. He will be a Jew, (Dan.11:36-39, the King)
At the end of the great tribulation, Israel's enemies, the Assyrian , or King of the north, will come down to destroy Israel, as well as Egypt, but at that time Christ will come out of heaven with all the saints that were previously caught up,(1 Thess.4), Rev. 19:11-16, and will destroy them all by the Word of His mouth,.
That is when the godly Jewish remnant will have fled to the mountains etc, for safety, as we get in Matt.24. After this Christ will begin to set up His earthly Kingdom, and will by His Spirit, call back from all over the world, the other ten tribes of Israel that have been scattered abroad for over 2500 years and restore them to their land, and there will again be 12 tribes, not two. Read Ezekiel 34:5-16, 22-31. Also ch 37 which speaks of the restoration of all Israel. Chapters 38 & 39 speaks about the destruction of Russia and her hordes.
I gather Bro. Pawson does not hold with Dispensationalism, as it is called, but if this is not understood, the difference between Judaeism and Christianity in this current period of grace, he will not understand properly, the work of the cross of Christ. and God's purpose for the Church and for Israel. For "Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to every one that believeth" We are not under Law, but under Grace. The Church will reign with Christ over the earth, for 1000 years. Israel will then reign supreme under Christ, during that same time, and all the nations of the earth will bring their honor and glory to Jerusalem because "every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
Other than that, I enjoy his scriptural knowledge, and must admit he is an excellent teacher! But since I've learned he does not hold with dispensational Truth, I've lost my confidence in his teaching., sad to say.
After more than 60 years of studying the Bible - I have never met anyone who knew their scripture better than David

1 Thess 4 talks of the Lords coming but says nothing about a rapture before a tribulation.
David also disagreed with dispensational thinking which did nit exist before the early 1800’s and was a belief set propagated by Darby and Schofield.
Why was it not taught by the Apostles?

In 2016 I searched out major earthquakes: in the 19th century there were a handful, 20th century there were about 10 pages and the 16 years of the 21 st century the notice was that there were too many to print and to try each Nation. So there are many more earthquakes than at any other time.
Nelson walters 70ad. Matthew 24 the way you explained matthew24 does make sense but rather these events is future in the end times, some people teach matthew24 is past 70ad. I also believe these people are wrong.God bless.

It is used in the Bible, the Bible is quite clear in the Hebrew as Acharit hayamim. אחרית הימים This is the language used about Jewish eschatology and the coming of Messiah and it being the end of days for this world. Jewish eschatology (of old, not necessarily what the rabbinate teaches today under post medieval-sage-driven rabbinic Judaism) is Christian eschatology. It’s the same. The only difference is the supermajority of Jews today do not believe the Mashiach came 2000+ years ago and they believe they are awaiting the Messiah. Certain Jews (Haredi) believe that the Messiah will be the one which rebuilds the third temple. The Haredi are staunchly anti-Zionist and against the rebuilding of the temple for this reason. They are the “ultra orthodox”.
These days the church in th UK is indeed under pressure too.

I respect David Pawson. However on the rapture. There is abundant scripture. 1 Corinthians 15. Thessalonians. As Christians we are not appointed to wrath,Noah, Lot were taken out prior to judgement on their places. There are tribulation saints born again🥰 after pre trib rapture. Also study the feasts and what they foreshadowed. The feast of Trumpets is next to be fulfilled after the great harvest. Followed by the days of awe. It is a great study. But do be discerning
If you believe the false teaching of the rapture befor the tribulation then how is there going to be new Christian's for Satan to persecute as the holy spirit is taken away too.... if you believe this line of false teaching it has too many holes in it. Jesus said he will be returning after the tribulation that is when he will gather from the 4 corners. The rapture is a false teaching. Christian's are going through the tribulation. HI This is Steve : David did no belief anyone will be Raptured - The Rapture was not taught by the Apostles nor mentioned in the early church. It was not until John Nelson Darby mid 1800's that this theology became popular
If you look at the the Book of Revelation Chapter 3 in more detail you will see that Jesus promises one Church to protect them from the great troubles, but he did not make that promise to all of the Churches, David believes that great trouble of Rev 3 has come and gone and the Christians in the Church in Philadelphia were protected from the persecution of the Roman Empire, which required everyone to bow the knee and worship the Emperor on the Lordy Day. If you did not you would be killed.
David does not believe there is evidence for The Rapture in Scripture ...... many do not agree with him, but the question is why the Lord treat Christians and Jews differently ?
You can decide for yourself - but I encourage you to search the scriptures and do not take what David says ....nor other teachers for that matter. - but search the scriptures for yourself.

David Pawson - Official I have heard David said in an interview that there will be a rapture or catching away. Infact the Bible teaches a catching away or gathering together unto him. What David Pawson does not believe or teach is the pre-tribulation rapture as taught by Darby and popularized by the Scoefield Study Bible.

The rapture is part of the resurrection at the last day for those that survive the tribulation.
Moses had a called out assembly, and church means called out assembly. There is no difference between Jew or Greek for we are all saved in the same manner today. Anyone who is truly born of God is his child. Just something to think on.

Very intelligent and well-spoken man, and I kept waiting for his explanation of verse 34: "Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Even atheists recognize Matt 24 as a prophecy concerning the siege and fall of Jerusalem, including the complete destruction of the temple, in AD 70. That's why they are so eager to date the book (and Luke) after AD 70. I agree with Mr. Pawson on so many other things, but I simply find his attempted explanations of Matt 24 to be a little far-fetched and contradictory to the very verse at which he stopped.
Many prophesies had a near, partial realization and then a greater, full realization. For example, the Abomination of Desolation happened when the pig was slaughtered on the alter, prior to the birth of Jesus, but Jesus refers to it as a future event in the Olivet discourse. "The Assyrian" did attack and devastate Israel, yet the prophesies of Ezekiel promise that the final Beast will be called, "The Assyrian."
Jews believe that Isaiah 7:14 was fulfilled when the young woman had a son and the enemies of Israel were crushed before the child was weaned, but the total realization of that prophesy was seen in the birth of the Messiah.
The Bible uses cycles a lot. The same events replay over and over, each time becoming "sharper."

Oh, c'mon. Jesus said, "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, STAND in the holy place ..." "Ye" means the people to whom Jesus was speaking. "Stand" does not mean the slaughter of a pig. Jesus was not in the habit of speaking in nonsensical riddles such as referring to something that happened long before He was born as yet future.

An Abomination was placed in the Temple. Now, that was a partial fulfillment.
When the attack of AD 70 happened, it was desolation and terror. It was a partial fulfillment. It was not the final, total fulfillment. It was not the final event because the Beast was not destroyed by the returning Lord and the Jewish people did not return to their city under their own government.
When Jesus said that some of the disciples would live to see him in Glory, they did. At the Transfiguration. One lived to see the second coming. John had his vision and saw it all.

Yes, he was. He died in AD 68. Whether the number is 606 or 666, the code fits Nero very well. And the Beast is not even mentioned in Matt 24: 1-35. That all refers to the fall of Jerusalem.

I said, "Nero was not destroyed *by the returning Lord*. I also said, and I repeat, Israel did *not* return to Jerusalem under Jewish rule. When the final event occurs Israel will be regathered to Jerusalem and the heir of Daavid will reign.
The Beast goes by many names. One of them Is the "Man of Sin." Paul states that the Man of Sin will be revealed after the restrainer stands aside. Daniel said that when Michael (who restrains) stands aside the Abomination would be set up. Jesus said in the Olivet discourse that the Abomination would be set up prior to the great Tribulation.
Jesus also stated emphatically that it will be a time of tribulation worse than the world had ever known *or ever would see again*.
The Inquisitions and definitely the Holocaust were worse than the events of 70 CE.

The fig tree (and all other trees as it says in Luke) is an example of being able to see visible signs of a new season coming. There’s nothing meant to be taken deeper from that passage and Luke makes that clear.
