"Tim Burton"... that says it all for me in how you represent what color, and everything in photography in general, means to the audience. It is totally subjective ("Beauty is in the eye...") What I love most about your content is how you present it; it's a guideline to follow based on your (our) perception of the concept, interpretation, appreciation, understanding of and approach to photography. It's all about what every single photographer wants to show the world with their photography. That is truly what every 'influencer' should be wanting to share with those of us who haven't reached that level of professionalism we strive for if they really want to share their expertise. I often have to rewatch your videos, and click back-and-forth to get what you're saying to catch it all, and though it's occasionally frustrating, it's invaluable and okay, because I know what you're saying is great info, and taking a second to back up and get it is worth it! You riff through this shit as though we all should know the minutiae (and I'm sure most of your audience does), but it's great that you give it to us in such a free and honest way. And if those of us who aren't "there" yet have to work for it, so be it. I just love to watch your videos. So informative and so full of great insights. And so entertaining with all the cool, creative editing you do on them! Thanks so much for all you share with us!
This video is very underrated and it helped me a lot. Before, I've always thought that picture profile was essential to photography, that's when I realized I always ended up using the raw file and finish everything up in light room. But the most important information I've learned is that I always set my white balance on auto, I never really knew that white balance was that important. Thank you!
I think saving an edit as a preset is super smart. It's what I've been doing the last couple of months and it drastically sped up my process. Lots of good info in this video.
i know im asking randomly but does anyone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
This’ll be very helpful to look back on in the future. I’ve really been vibing with your new style of photography btw, and I wanna get behind it myself. It’s so simple and beautiful. Your work always re inspires me man!
Aye thank you man! Honestly I haven’t actively tried to change my style or anything like that, I’ve just been challenging myself to create as much as possible. So I’m glad you’re liking the result of that! 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing your color knowledge! This video was so fascinating! I’ve been developing my editing style over the past year or so and I feel like it’s coming together. This video might help me tie it all together! Also can’t wait for the photo book to come :) I’ve been so excited since I ordered it!
For me various colors can definitely create nostalgia and put me in a memorable place. The Netflix series Stranger Things accomplished this using colors to pull back up fun childhood memories, and feelings growing up in the 80s. That’s one of the main reason I watched the show.. The brilliant use of colors to tell a story.
ive got the canon 700D, it pretty decent but all i have is the kit lense and the 50mm 1.8, everytime i see a a picture opp. Evan would take i remember ive got a crop sensor and my sharpest lense increases the crop factor so i cant get the entire scene in one photo..... i know i know... gear doesn't make you good....but a full frame camera that produces better colours would most definitely have helped in those situations
Evan in this video you put emphasis on camera calibration. Not asking for the sauce but should we be spending more time in this section of we're interested in color?
I love your vids as a fellow Atlantian and photographer. Where did you get your tattoo done cause it awesome!?! Also I love your style and like does your hair naturally grey like that or who did that for you cause it’s dope af.
Hey Evan! I had an idea. Since you post a lot in square format on insta i thought it might be kinda cool to rent a 6x6 film camera and shoot w it! Let me know what you think!
Thanks ever so! (And should you see the 'audio quality' criticism comment, I'm inclined to shrug - you're a photographer, not an audio specialist, and I personally follow you for one, not the other 😉 )
Is changing the white balance during a shoot (in-camera) the same result if shot in raw using Auto WB and will edit in LR? I mean can I achieve the same correct result?
Starting from a corrected WB cuts a lot of time editing. If every picture has it's own WB it gets really annoying trying to first correct then seeing where you want to go from there
Hi Evan. Been following your work since the start, and absolutely love your videos and your work - keep it up. You made this book with some beautiful photos - well designed and so on. I have a few questions regarding the book Why did you make the book? Who is the audience? Whats the idea behind the book? and so on. Im asking because i want to do one myself and would love to hear your version. Greets from Denmark IG: @mads_krabbe_fotografi

Ay Evan, could you maybe make a video about your lighting in your room? The LED setup? Thanks for doing what you do - big fan.
Thank you for this! Definitely will watch multiple times for tips!
appreciate it! thanks for watching!
One of your best videos for sure!

hi Evan, can you make a vlog teaching on how to choose the perfect white balance in every situation?
Can't wait to get my preorder :)
Great info keep it up Evan. As always really enjoy the videos.
yo thanks!!

Nice background colors(green, orange and purple), which are all secondary colors. Does that follow a certain formula?

Great video Evan, definitely learned something new from this one. Cheers ✌

You’re a g! Great video man
Great advice, given in a way that's easily understood by non-experts like me!
Thanks ever so! (And should you see the 'audio quality' criticism comment, I'm inclined to shrug - you're a photographer, not an audio specialist, and I personally follow you for one, not the other 😉 )
Great video!
Did you use grey card for consitence white balance?
Happy Saturday morning from New Zealand notification squad.
Glad you could be here! Enjoy the weekend!
hay bro, if you want to start shooting, did you do with setting the WB by using plain white paper? thank you, please answer
I can't afford photoshop. Would you suggest Lightroom by itself? Would suggest any other editors out there, like maybe a free one?
Great video! I have a question? What filter for my lens would you recommend for great color? There are so many ND etc etc... thanks..
Check out PMVND mist edition II polarpro 2-5 stops it is good but at least start research from there
Filters won't help your colors and you don't need an ND unless you're taking long exposures
could you make a video on how you color grade your video?
Is your photo book for sale somewhere? I don't see a link.
@northwoodsmurphy
The professor has spoken 🤘🏾
Do you have any presets of your own
Straight from the color sensei
haha far from not but thank you!!
Hey i love how his video looks, does anyone know what lut he uses
Is changing the white balance during a shoot (in-camera) the same result if shot in raw using Auto WB and will edit in LR? I mean can I achieve the same correct result?
Kim John Reyes yeah pretty much but getting it correct in camera gives you a bit more flexibility to play around with in post
@@damarko in raw it's the same thing
Starting from a corrected WB cuts a lot of time editing. If every picture has it's own WB it gets really annoying trying to first correct then seeing where you want to go from there
Monochrome moooooob.
how you edit to get that blue shadows man?
In Lightroom it's the color grading panel, you can tint shadows
All I hear is @PotatoJet outro music, thought he was gonna show up.
thinking the same LOL
Lol.. you didn’t have to throw horoscopes under the bus like that but it is perception related like emotions perceived relation to color
color.adobe.com is a great website to play around with color theory (and even add it to swatches in Photoshop CC).
This is great content! Not sure if you're aware, but color.adobe.com is a pretty sick site for color wheels!
🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is why I like shooting with nikon FF. Dynamic range is so high you can bring back so much more info.
Doesn't Sony have better dynamic range?
Whats that car he is driving??
Sometimes I use this for color combos and color inspiration: color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/
Was that Krog St Tunnel?
#frostedhairclickbaitweasel Ha ha...Just kidding man. I love your videos...
Color or Colour?
You should invest in a decent microphone for your voice overs. the change in sushi quality is noticable and doesn't help the flow of your videos.
Are you kidding? His voiceover mic (the RODE NT-USB) is miles better than theRODE Videomic he uses for the rest of his videos.
Great video!!
Great video!
