Enchantment of the Seas HONEST REVIEW 2022 - Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

- I am back from my cruise on Enchantment of the Seas and this video provides an honest review of this Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship. The Enchantment of the Seas cruise review will review the food, entertainment, crew, and itinerary, and will be a cruise ship review.
I set sail from Baltimore, Maryland onboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Enchantment of the Seas. This Royal Caribbean cruise on Enchantment of the Seas took me to Bermuda for a 3-day stay. This was my first time sailing from Baltimore, my first time to Bermuda, and my first time on an older Royal Caribbean ship. Enchantment of the Seas is the third oldest Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

I met my husband of 22 years on the Enchantment in October 2000 on the very last night of the cruise. We returned on a belated honeymoon in 2005. We are thinking of returning again. Thank you for your review!
How awesome! I hope you get to return to her soon.
Thank you for the honest review! We’re about to sail on Enchantment for the first time. All of our Royal Caribbean cruises have been top notch compared to other cruise lines we have tried. We were concerned about the age of Enchantment, but your honest review properly sets our expectations. Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching, Max! I was worried about the age too which is why I was so surprised. You’re going to have an amazing time on her and I hope you enjoy!
Awesome! I’ve been waiting all week for this! Now I’m excited! I can’t wait for my Enchantment 9 night in just a few weeks! Thanks !
You’re going to love it and I hope you have a great time. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your honest review! It eases our minds about sailing on the Enchantment for our family's very first cruise!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your first cruise - how exciting!
I've done the Grandeur/Enchantment at least 16X (out of 97) and I LOVE these "classical cruise ships"... I have been taking my grandsons (now 13, 15, 17) in cruises since 2015 and they don't know that these humongous ships exist... they go around the ship(s) enjoying new friends and going to the adventure camps. They will have to wait for those until after I pass.... BUT they have had a great time and memories....
I was on that same cruise and had a tremendous time. You’re so right about the crew. They were absolutely excellent and caring and made my vacation so much more enjoyable!
So glad to hear you had a great time as well. The crew was so amazing! Thanks for watching!
I really appreciate your review! I’ll be cruising on Enchantment in April. It’s my first cruise. Very excited!
Have a great time!
Thanks, Zach - most helpful review of this ship on RUclips. I`m on Enchantment in January and really looking forward to a smaller ship after my last cruises on Celebrity Reflection (loved it) and Anthem OTS (didn`t love it), And you`re right about paying through the nose for a balcony, but hey, it`s a balcony! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much, Gordon! I hope you have a great time on Enchantment. She was definitely one of my favorite ships I sailed on this year.
Hi Zach....I was looking so forward to your Enchantment review!!! Thank you!! I waved to you as you passed our condo on the oceanfront in Virginia Beach!!! Looking forward more Enchantment reviews that you are going to post ...thank you 🛳
Hi Laura - so glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching.
Thanks for you awesome review video. Wife and I were on the fence about trying a smaller ship since we wanted to try something more intimate then the bigger ships we’ve been on. Video was very informative and we definitely look forward to sailing on her next year out of Baltimore 👍🏼
Thanks for watching! I'll have a couple more videos about her coming in the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy your cruise next year!
Love the fair & balanced review of the ship and your experience! Just sailed Oasis a couple of weeks ago and my partner and I agree 100% about Chops. They need to rethink that brand, menu and service across the fleet. Some of the most mediocre food, at premium prices, is served at Chops. Seeing the various interior pics made me smile thinking of many great cruises past in some of the older vessels. Great video!
Thank you so much and thanks for watching! Glad you agree about Chops. It has just never been that impressive to me.
Wow - for that age, this ship is looking SO well maintained. It always does really impress me when you get on an older ship - some of them feel pretty new, minus some questionable design choices, which must've been 'in' back in the 90s/early 00's!
She was a fantastic ship. I still can’t believe how great of a time I had on her. Thanks for watching!
I am on Enchantment right now. Really loving. Also, I found cruiseplum through you...it's been a game changer for me as a solo cruiser. Thanks for that rec.
I hope you’re having a great time. Loved her! And love CruisePlum as well, so I’m glad you’re getting good use out of it.
Couldn’t agree with you more Zach! This was such a special cruise - the crew was outstanding (I would give them a 900 too) and Bermuda was just lovely. This was my second time on Enchantment and I would go back again and likely will… love the video! It was wonderful!!!! I’m going to do the special lunch next time too!
Thank you, Lynda! So nice to meet you and share stories and cruise experiences. Definitely one of the highlights of the week. And so glad you had a great cruise as well! :)
I loved Grendure of Seas from Baltimore back in 2005. Wooden deck was my favorite! Thank you for your video!
Thanks for watching!
The Enchantment of the Seas is one of my fav ships. It is true it doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of the new mega ships like bumper cars, ice rinks or air tunnel. It does old cruise line charm on a well designed ship which rides well even in bad water. I can't wait to sail on her in the future. Thank You for an excellent report.
Thank you for watching! I hope to sail on her again someday because she’s truly a gem of a ship.
Thank you Zach. We will be on Enchantment of the Seas on the 16th of September. It was very reassuring to hear your positive remarks. Looking forward to your other videos
Thank you, Janet! I hope you have a great cruise.
I’m going on the Enchantment next summer from Barcelona. This was great! Thanks for your review!
Thank you!
I’m so glad I came across your video family and I are booked three separate 7 Night cruises summer 2023 from Italy and I felt the same way about the ship but after seeing this video I’m feeling much better We sailed Royal before all oasis beautiful shit I can’t wait to see you on enchantment great job thanks a bunch
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy your cruises on Enchantment - she is a fantastic ship!
We did the Taste of Royal a couple weeks ago in Oasis of the Seas, and i agree...it was INCREDIBLE. I will 100% be booking this again on out next royal cruise.
I was on this cruise too! My very first cruise. I thought it was an amazing time~. I can’t quit thinking about how much fun I had and how much I miss it already! The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. I’m pretty sure our housekeeper tripped over something just so he could get his arm out of the door to wave at me! And every time we chatted with the staff they always stopped what they were doing to give us their full attention. Sometime we chatted to them about their jobs. What a sacrifice they make just to work! The one lady we spoke with told she works for 8 months straight then she’s off for 4 months! Kudos to the whole staff. And Eric the cruise director was awesome too! Wish I had his energy! I also thought the comedian and magician and the shows were excellent too! And my happy place was also deck 5. It was like a hidden gem!
I’m so glad you had a great cruise also! What a great first cruise. I miss all of the lovely crew. And you’re right, Eric was great! I don’t normally think much of the cruise directors on ships but he was great at his job.
Hi Zach. Thanks for your review…much love to the older ships. I have been sailing since 1972. And i just love a classic ship. One of my beginning cruise out of NY was a weeks cruise to Bermuda in which you were in Bermuda 3 whole days… i am in agreement with you I love to wake up to a sea day at the start of my cruise. Cruising for me are sea days and a good itinerary, and of course good food…I am a happy gal🚢😊
Thank you for watching! I loved Bermuda. 🏝️
We were on your cruise and concur with your good review! We were on the Celebrity Summit in June and this ship’s crew and food was right up there with the Summit!
Thanks, John! Glad to hear you had a great experience as well. And I’ll be on Celebrity Summit soon, so can’t wait to experience all that.
Thanks for sharing your great review. I was on the Enchantment in April and July of this year and absolutely loved it.
Thank you, Carolyn! I’m glad you had a great time on your cruises.
Hello...It will be our first cruise,..can you please tell me if there is any thing we need to be aware of when it comes to the final bill....Thank you.
Thank you for your review! My husband and I were looking at booking a cruise out of Baltimore since we're about 2 hours away, but we were feeling a little disappointed about the age of the ship. I appreciate hearing that everything was good. I'm sure we will still thoroughly enjoy it :)
Thank you for watching! I really hope you love it, she’s still a great option despite the age.
Great review. I went on the Enchantment of the Seas back in 2006 and it looks as though we will be going on it again next June again. I will have been on 3 cruises, 2 of them on this ship, so as disappointed as I am to not able to try a new ship I am happy to hear its in good shape.
I hope you have a great time on her!
I have a wonderful memory of Enchantment, it was Saturday 12th July '97, QEII dock Southampton, I was a member of Treorchy Male Choir, who took part in the official Launching Ceremony followed by a concert in the ships Centrium then a cruise around the Isle of White, when we enjoyed listening to Petula Clark going through her final rehearsal for the inaugural cruise across the Atlantic. Yes a wonderful experience, now tempting me to take a Mediterranean cruise before the end of this year '23.
Cool memory, thanks for sharing!!
This was such a relief to watch, I've got my first cruise scheduled on Enchantment of the Seas in September (Venice to Barcelona). This will be my first international trip, first cruise, just... a lot of firsts :) Great review, thank you!!
Have a great time! Thanks for watching.
I just went on my first cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas. 12 days from Baltimore to the Southern Caribbean. I had an amazing time, the crew went out of their way to please you. Everyone was so friendly. I traveled with family and I didn’t want to be the 5th wheel always. I would go have breakfast at the main dining room and get a sharing table and meet others. This was also a lot of firsts for myself. I’m so happy I did everything and cannot wait to go with my husband soon!
Great to hear! We sailed on Grandeur out of Baltimore (sister ship) and we really liked the ship. It too went to Bermuda. 25 days till we sail on Enchantment to NE and Canada! Glad they have a covered Solarium as I plan to spend day 1 sea day there! Going to book a future trip on board. One of the perks of a soon to be retired individual. Looking at Southern Caribbean for a longer trip - say 13 days.
Thank you for watching! You will really love Enchantment. I still can’t believe how great she was. A day in the Solarium sounds amazing - I wish I had spent more time there. A 13 day southern Caribbean on her sounds amazing!
Hi Zack! I was onboard this ship as well and you were pointed out to me when you were dining in My Fair Lady. I was exhausted and needed a calm Serene environment. So the classic cruise ship was it for me. The entertainment was on point. Pianist Andrew Trevor was my favorite. The International Flag Parade. However, a great laugh was the International Men Belly Flop Competition 🤣 Yes, stellar outstanding exceptional service from the crew team! It was my BD and the crew in My Fair Lady made it a memorable moment. If you need to escape from life and want a calm, retreat environment, this was the cruise! Thanks for your feedback!
Hi Janice, thank you for the nice comment and for watching. Next time please come over and say hello - I love meeting new cruise friends! I’m so glad you enjoyed your cruise and found the serene and calm environment you were after.
Leaving Saturday for a 12 day cruise on Enchantment and I am so excited to just relax!
Hope you enjoy it!
I'll be on a Bermuda cruise from NYC in October, so looking forward to your Bermuda excursion video.
Thanks for watching - I'll have that out in just a couple of weeks!
I was on the Bermuda cruise on this ship right before you 8/19. I was also taken back by how dated the ship was. I really wish RCCL would refresh this ship to make it a cool retro type of cruise. At the very least touch up the rusted areas with some fresh paint. One thing to note was Enchantment was particularly challenging with a 7 year old who only knew Disney cruises. However she was super sad to leave the ship, so she definitely enjoyed herself but it took a few days for her to find her groove. Great video and review!
Thanks for watching! Glad you all enjoyed the cruise.
I loved your review!!! Because you gave a thumbs up to the Enchantment of the Seas, I just booked in four weeks, December 1, 2022. It's not Bermuda, it's the other itinerary out of Baltimore. Been to Bermuda multiply times and do love the island. We were looking to get away, cheap, and not have to fly too far. We found RT NON-STOP to BWI which is a plus for us. We are well prepared now because of your thorough review. What the heck, better than sitting on the couch. This will be out 27th cruise since 1994. Thank you again!!!
How cool - I’m so happy that you’re trying out this great ship and do hope you have a fantastic time. Thanks for watching!
This old girl has a special place in my heart she was my first. I love seeing her I love to take a cruise on her every couple years. I love the classic feeling.
Thank you for sharing! She was amazing.
I am encouraged by your review of Enchantment. We sail on her on Dec 1 and all the reviews I saw/read had negative things to say. Now I am more optimistic and hope I enjoy my trip as much as you did! We are not going to Bermuda but are going south to Charleston, FL and the Bahamas.
Have a great cruise!
What did you think of your cruise on Enchantment of the Seas?
Zach, super review of your super sailing! I’d suggest that RCL do an upgrading on this & its Vision class family to bring them up to date. RCL is only building mega ships now, but not everyone wants a cruise on a floating amusement park with 6,000 of their best friends! Upgrade the smaller ships!
Thank you for watching, Jerry! And yes, more ships like this please!
Thanks Zach, on September me and my wife will be on Spain for this Cruise, it will be our firts Cruise, and your review has been excellent! Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
My first ever cruise was on this ship 4 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. I will for sure book again just because I know she doesn't have many years left.
Thanks for watching!
Finally got to watch this and soooooo glad to hear the positive reviews. I don't think I'll get a chance to sail her anytime soon but this makes me even more excited to sail her sister ship Rhapsody of the Seas in a January.
If she’s anything like Enchantment you are going to love it! Thanks for watching! 😊
Been on 63 cruises and love the older ships. Love smaller ships also. People miss out on what a ship is , not plastic or floating amusement park. Cruised on the royal Caribbean Sun Viking years ago holding 670 passengers and was just a fabulous experience with teak decks a two person sauna that was located out by the pool. The ship was so nice after royal Caribbean sold it to the Far East market it became a luxury vessel and was a class of its own. Even though it was small the 10 days went so fast and I followed the ships history ever since towards the end
Another great video, Zach! We're on Apex now, full cruise with 2,800 guests. Some things of note: Streaming from personal devices to the stateroom TV confirmed to be discontinued even for highest Internet package, 3rd cruise this year on Celebrity and 3rd cruise in a row with billing issues (this time, pre-paid Eden speciality dining charged again in error - corrected quickly, but only because we saw it and contacted guest services), and long-standing issue that Apex' indoor Solarium pool has no steps to get in, only a ladder). Other than that, so far, so good!
Thank you for watching from the Apex! I’ll be on her the cruise after next! Thanks for delivering her safely to Rome for me haha. I hope you have a fantastic cruise!
Great news am going to be working on this ship January
Yeah yeah!! Glad you enjoyed your trip! She's an oldie but a goodie. I look forward to my trip in October. It's nice to see how it's been 'updated' since the last time I was on it. Did they do a theme night? They did a 70s night when I there last.
Thank you - and I hope you enjoy your trip as well. I know they had a couple of themed nights but not sure what they were.
Our first cruise was 5 years ago, on Enchantment. Our latest cruise we finished just last weekend, aboard Harmony of the Seas. While the shows and the ship were awesome on Harmony, NOTHING has beaten the crew on Enchantment. We still remember the cruise director, our MDR waiter, and our steward by name, while we’re not all that sure who the cruise director was on Harmony, we never had the same waiter, and our steward didn’t really get to know us.
Grandeur is my favorite Royal Caribbean ship. I love the Vision class. I hope the company keeps them all around for many more years. Looking forward to sail on Vision from Baltimore.
I hope they keep them around for many more years as well! Amazing ships.
I did the Taste of Royal on my April Symphony of the Seas sailings. It was fantastic! Same menu as yours. I highly recommend this to anyone who is reading comments and has an upcoming sailing on Royal Caribbean. Note, I believe it is only offered on Sea Days.
Tami, thanks for watching and sharing how great this experience is. And I believe you’re right - this was only offered on the last sea day of my cruise
We love sailing out of B'more. It's close to home, and the smaller ships can visit almost any port.
Hi Zach. I absolutely love the honesty in your reviews. I agree that bigger, doesn't always mean better when it comes to cruise ships. I just returned from my second sailing on the Carnival Mardi Gras and this sailing pretty much confirmed that I won't be sailing on any of the other new Carnival ships (Celebration and Jubilee) as I am sure they will all have a similar feel and design (completely disconnected and disjointed in my opinion). I do love the charm of an older ship which takes me back to when I first started sailing in the 80's. I will say however that your video disclosed some furniture that looked original to the ship...lol. With some additional "soft goods" upgrades to bring it into the millennium, it looks like she could be a grand dame again.
Thank you so much for the nice comment. The furniture was definitely dated! I felt like it was 1998 all over again in some of the lounges. But it was nice and a great cruise!
Good stuff Zach. Will be sailing in a few weeks. And who doesn't love velvet walls?
Thank you! I hope you have an incredible cruise. Enjoy those walls. 😂
I sailed the maiden voyage of the Enchantment of the Seas. It was a beautiful ship and will always hold a special place in my heart because I took this particular cruise with my father and his old timer friends. Almost all of them have passed on now, including my father … I’m thinking about catching another cruise on her before they retire her. ❤
I almost think I’ll watch for her final cruise … and catch that with my own kids. It would be neat to have caught the first and then the last 🤔
Hi, I'm afraid I beat you for a cruise on Enchantment, having taken part in the Launch Ceremony at QEII dock I enjoyed a night-time cruise around the Isle of White, and enjoyed a wonderful evening listening to Pet Clarks final rehearsal. Geoff Howard
Booked for April 2024 (just checked in last night). It’s my second time on this ship. I’ve only been on Jewel and I will also be going on vision later. First time was out of Baltimore, second time is out of Tampa
Great video !!
Thanks for watching!
I love the 90s design. It’s nostalgic to me.
Me too! Thanks for watching.
My first cruise was on the Love Boat, Princess, at that time, I thought it was so big and beautiful. Zack, I will see you on Celebrity Apex in October. My 1st Solo😮
Thank you, Susie! See you very soon. 😊
Hi I really enjoyed your videos that I have seen on Enchantment of the Seas. I live in DE so much easier to go out of Baltimore than flying to FL. My boyfriend and I are booked to go on her in February 2023. He now has to have surgery on his spine so not sure if we'll have to reschedule or not. But I was so excited to see your review. This is my first RCL cruise but I think I will like the smaller ship. Thank you and I look forward to your full ship tour.
Thank you for watching. Sorry you might have to change your cruise - sending thoughts and well wishes to your boyfriend and his health.
We sailed on the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore in 2009. I hope there continue to be cruise ships small enough to fit out under the Bay Bridge!
Me too! Baltimore was a really great port to sail out of.
Nice review. I adore the older smaller ships especially from Baltimore. I am about 14 miles from the cruise port and before Enchantment came, the Lady Granduer was our Queen of Royal Caribbean in Baltimore. I have cruised on Granduer 18 times staying in cabins from regular balconies all the way to her Royal Suite. Of all my 59 cruises since 1985 Granduer stole my heart ❤️. I went on Enchantment this past March with friends to Celebrate my 69th Birthday 🥳 and will be going back on her in February for a Valentines/early 70th Birthday 🥳 Celebration with friends (Framily) as they are our travel friends turned family. I have been pretty much all around the world on many cruise lines, from 6 day cruises to 21 days Alaska and Hawaii back to backs, been on stage performing with many stars, had meals with many entertainers and love every cruise I have been on, even on the Alaska and Hawaiian 🌺 Cruise going through a Hurricane off the California coast and a Typhoon coming up the Pacific at us for 4 straight days. Amazing adventure to say the least of 4 long straight days of not seeing 1/2 the ship passengers or crew because they were all Sea Sick. My husband and I became a part of the entertainment crews after hours parties, rehearsals etc. we wear the ear patches every cruise and never get sick not even through a hurricane/typhoon 4 day rant on the seas. That ship was The Legend of the seas , another sister to the Granduer and the Enchantment. Royal Caribbean is my favorite cruise line. (37) total going on 38 in February. Carnival is my new second most cruised from Baltimore ( getting packed now for the Carnival Pride out of Rome/Greek Islands cruise for 15 days altogether. Planned, booked and paid for this cruise back in 2019 as a Combination Retirement/Honeymoon cruise for my Newlywed Husband and I We were both upper 60,s then , and now in 2 short weeks we’ll be finally living this cruise after Covid is allowing us at age 70 to spend 5 glorious days in Rome then hop on the Lady Pride and cruise around the beautiful Greek Islands Mediterranean for another 11 days. Cheers and BON Voyage 🛳 to us still very much in love with life and each other Senior Newlywed’s. Sorry for the long message but I am a very Passionate person when it comes to the Joys of a Cruised Life but younger people should hear first hand what others feel when they have been cruising for almost 4 1/2 decades. I give Enchantment a 5/5 for her Old World Cruise Charm, and everything else that keeps these cruisers coming back over and over, you see it’s not all about the bells and whistles, it’s not all about let’s see how fast and long I can get and stay drunk , and it’s definitely not about who is better than anyone else. Respect,Appreciation , Charm and Enjoyment are the Enticements that make Enchantment and all the other well Salted older Gals worthy of our Love and Loyalty. BON Voyage dear sir on all the future cruises, love and enjoy each and every glorious day on the Sea 🌊
Hi Mary - thank you for this great comment. I enjoyed hearing about all your cruises and your upcoming voyage in Europe. I hope you have an incredible time on the Pride! Thanks for watching. 😊
Hi Mary, which ear patch do you use for sea sickness?
@@mgxnz Scoplamine
We are sailing on her August 31 out of Tampa for 7 nights. I haven’t been on RC since the early 2000s so this will be familiar to me. We chose this simply because it wasn’t a planned vacation so we had to travel on a budget. We opted for less bells and whistles in exchange for a longer vacation with more ports. I do look forward to a fancier ship BUT RC is usually at the top of our travel budget if not over budget but I’ll take any ship over no ship
J'ai adoré ce vidéo rempli d'infos
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! Am sailing on ETOS in March. Did you happen to see the library on board and if they had a good amount of books? I hate dragging my own, but if they dont have much I will certainly have to. On the other hand, I guess I could pay for the internet and just bring an iPad! Will be watching for the next EOTS review and others. New subscriber here! ;)
Thank you, Jill, and welcome! The library wasn’t much other than a single bookshelf across from the coffee shop in the open area of the centrum. I have some shots of it in my ship tour video that’ll be coming out next month.
Hi Jill - was on this cruise too and did go check out the library area. It was right by guest services and I would not call it a traditional library like I have seen on other ships. This area has a handful of bookcases and a few dozen books. Not a ton, but definitely a little selection. I saw both fiction and non fiction.
Great video 📹👍
Thank you!
We were on the NCL Joy the day you arrived to Bermuda. Wish I'd known you were there, would have loved to say Hi.
How cool - I wish we could have said hello! Your ship was huge! Hope you enjoyed Bermuda.
Well done. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
We were on the Enchantment to New England and Canada. Mostly agree with your assessment. However, our entertainment was seriously lacking. Production shows would be posted and then disappear from the app. Same with movies. Service was fantastic!! Crew is awesome. Windjammer was a pleasant surprise.
That’s terrible about the entertainment! And no fun. But glad you enjoyed the rest of your cruise! Thanks for watching. :)
My first cruise was on Enchantment in 2003 - seemed so big back then
Love the review and looking forward to the trip this week. Appreciate the review on the Taste of Royal we were hesitated on it but looks like will try it. And loved your review on the Italy cruise review with Mt Etna That May be our next one!
Thank you for watching, Ed! Enjoy your trip!
I took Grandeur of the Seas out of Baltimore to Bermuda, before they switched to Enchantment. They are very similar. Food and service were top notch. Hate to say it but was 10X better than the Equinox. I am beginning to think Royal may be better.
Taking this ship out of Bayonne, NJ on April 30, 2023. Can't wait!
You will have a great time!
Transatlantic 15-nights to Rome, I was on that exact cruise. How did you like it??
@PatrickWagz loved it. Older ship but I didn't mind. Met some great people on there.
@@PatrickWagz I had the honor of meeting Vincent Speranza, one of the WW2 vets from the Battle of the Bulge on the cruise.
I’ve been on the ship prior to this ship, Grandeur of the Seas. That ship was dated too. We prefer smaller ships vs. mega ships. I also like leaving from Baltimore. We don’t have to fly and my luggage isn’t limited due to luggage weight. However. I would prefer a more UPDATED ship but still a smaller ship. It’s hard I imagine. The port of Baltimore can only handle smaller ships because ships have to get under the Bay Bridge, which the Mega ships cannot do. So hoping Royal invests in updated, smaller ship. If they pull out completely from that port it leaves a HUGE clientele without a port and smaller ships. Lots of people sail from Baltimore with Royal. Especially the older clientele. We sailed twice on Grandeur which looks like the same decor as Enchantment. Lots of gold and light wood. We LOVED Grandeur!! Had 2 sailings booked on Enchantment but were canceled due to COVID. Hope we get on it before it heads to Europe. Loved your video.
Thank you so much! I hope ships remain in Baltimore for many more years. Honestly can’t see them removing any at this point. They seem to sell very well.
Hello! Great review. I was wondering if this ship is better for introverted people. I am planning a trip with my husband and he tends to get overwhelmed in very social places. Do you easily find places to relax quietly?
Hi! Thanks for watching. There are several places to relax in silence. The lounge on back of deck 6 I never saw anyone in.
I love that you can walk all the way around the life boat deck. The older ships have that, like NCL Sky and Jade. What passenger capacity are they sailing at now?
This cruise was probably 80-90%.
Our Vision of the Seas Nov. 2022 sailed at 50%...
Love The Enchantment.
Going on her March 11th 2023 !
Have a great time!
Thanks zach awesome video!!! There aren't many recent videos on this ship. I can drive to this port in an hour and a half. I was actually thinking about booking the vision of the seas, it looks beautiful and has a 12 night southern itinerary, but maybe I'll check out the enchantment as well. I cruise solo as well sometimes. And I'm always looking for good deals!!! My next cruise it Carnival Celebration's inaugural sailing out of Miami!!! I'm so excited about that one🙂 And then I'm doing Anthem of the Seas in March for my big 55th birthday. I've never done celebrity before. I was thinking about doing the Summit out of NJ or the equinox out of Florida. I saw your equinox video and was a little turned off by that cabin. It could use some updates. Happy cruising 🛳 ☺️ 🧳✈️🕶🏝❣️
Hi Annette, thank you for watching! The 12 night itinerary sounds awesome. I love the southern Caribbean. I’m super jealous you’re going on Celebration - I hope to get on her one of these days but no plans yet. I will be on Celebrity Summit in a couple of months so you’ll have to see what I think about her!
Yes!!! I look forward to your Summit review 😀 I've seen a few and she looks so elegant and classy. The Celebration will be my 8th cruise and I haven't done a Southern itinerary yet. I'm kind of torn between 12 nights on the Vision and 8 nights in Virgin Voyages. Have you tried Virgin yet? It looks pretty amazing!!
I haven’t tried Virgin yet but hope to next year. The Celebration looks awesome and I hope to sail her sometime too! 😊
@@ZachtheTravelingMan I decided to book the Valient Lady for the 8 night Caribbean Antilles next year!! Only 10 days left till Carnival Celebration 🍾!! I'm so excited 😊
I hope you have a GREAT time!
I was on Enchantment Aug 25 to New England/Canada. Did you check out the musician in the Schooner Bar, Andrew Trevor? He's amazing. You still have time! He's playing now, and then from 10 - midnight.
I was on the cruise just after yours! Unfortunately I missed hearing him play. Thank you for watching. :)
Just got off the enchantment of the seas on December 9th…. Had a nice time… but know that they have removed and not replaced the mini fridges in the staterooms and there is no big screen tv on the pool deck… first time ever those amenities were available on a royal ship… kinda disappointing that they have not upgraded 😢
We went last week on Enchantment. There was no age diversity, everyone was older. They did not have their stuff together on the ports, we went to Canada the day of their thanksgiving, boston the port staff had to come back into the ship and check our passports, we didn't leave until 1pm because of this, and New Port we had to wait 5 hours to get a tinder boat, we got about 2.5 hours on the port.
Funny, you mentioned "if you have cruised since xx".... heck, my first cruise was in 1969! I will never choose a big ship, I love the smaller size.
Thanks for watching!
Booked July 2024
I started cruising in 1990, The ship is so 90's...It reminds me of so many ships back then. The Theater looks great. I don't like the way the Buffet area looks. With kids in school, It is a completely different cruise as opposed to when school is closed in the summer. Bermuda is the ONLY Island I have been to more then once...1991, 1995...1999...I know every inch of that island...I hope you got to see Tobacco beach close to St George...Small but beautiful and much less crowded... Zack, waiting for you to try Oceania...lolol...
I will add Oceania to my list of lines I need to try 😂. Thank you for watching.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan A word of Caution..it is a very laid back cruise line...They have a art class, cooking class...entertainment is subdued. But the food and service is very good. Oceania is the entry level of luxury...Full Blown Luxury, Silverseas...Seabourne, Regent and Cunard.
Yah! I have been waiting for this one. Amen
Thank you, Katrina.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan I will try this ship in 2023 out of Baltimore which is close to my state of Delaware. Thank you so much and when is the next trip coming. Soon I hope. Stay blessed. Amen
Thank you, Katrina! I hope you go and enjoy her as much as I did. Next trip is to Israel and Turkey and more in just a few weeks!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Great and I will be waiting to see what you have seen. Thank you. Amen
I would like to try the vision class but unsure about enchantment due to the lengthening. I heard from many people it just can't accommodate as many people in public areas due to this lengthening. Maybe I'd like the grandeur or vision better
I never noticed crowding anywhere and we basically had a full ship. I was actually surprised when I heard the number of guests because it didn’t feel that full at all.
We are booked for a cruise with them in April. Do you know of anyway to get on board credits like other crusie lines offer?
Just check for sales and new promotions. Sometimes you can apply for a price drop if you see a lower rate and it comes with OBC.
Main down side is Windjammer. RC stretched the ship and added rooms, but did not expand WJ. Too crowded for me!
It was quite crowded in there at times! Especially on the first day.
Hi. Thank you for this interesting review. I booked a cruise for next year , 7 night Greek and I didn’t know the ship was too old until today that I stared looking on you tube for videos. I was very worried because is going to be my boyfriend’s first time on a cruise and I was thinking to call Royal Caribbean to change our booking to Odyssey. I don’t want him to be disappointed with my ship election. What can you tell me about Odyssey? Do you think is a good idea to change it? I am confused.
I would say to change it if it's the first cruise and you want it to be a good first impression. Odyssey is much newer - you wouldn't want him thinking all cruise ships are this old.
Hi! I am cruising this ship in May from Athens, never been on a cruise. Do I need to subscribe to the Internet while on board or can I get it before boarding?
You can usually get it cheaper online before you go on your cruise. Check the cruise planner to do that on Royal’s website.
@@ZachtheTravelingMan thank you! And thank you for your videos!
Hello...May i ask if you enjoyed this cruise,..was it the ship all you expected. and would you recommend the experience.?
So sick of the negative crap people throw at EVERYTHING now..
Royal has a clue what they are doing.. They won't just let a ship rot mechanically.. you negative whiners COULD be happy there are a few ships that they keep up to run CHEAP cruises on.. Some people just want to chill and cruise and dine and mingle.. And not spend $1800 a person.
All of the ships have extraordinary service and customer focused attention to detail.
If you need a screaming kid, pee filled water park.. go book a Disney ship! Don't condemn this one for other people.. shut up and get on another boat.. Or just keep your bitching to yourself and stay home..
Nice review dude. Thank you for honesty.
Very good video. Did you ever share the cost?
Thank you! Not yet but I will very soon in a video on how I booked so cheap. :)
They say put your phone in airplane mode on a cruise. How does that work with the cruise app?
You put your phone in airplane mode but turn your WiFi on and connect to the ship’s WiFi. Even if you don’t have an internet package you can still use the app.
I am on this exact ship for NYE. I have been wondering if the ship is too old and out of date. I just came off the NCL Sky and although it is two years newer than Enchantment, I really felt it was overdue for retirement.
I really enjoyed this ship and went in thinking it was going to be a rust bucket well past it’s prime. I was wrong and I hope you enjoy your cruise on her!
Whoever goes into this ships knows what to expect.
that ship need more updates like on water slides for kids and young ones and they need more waterslide
What production did they have on the last night?
It was a new show they were premiering featuring famous broadway and movie soundtrack classics. But I forget the name!
Do you have any NCL ships in your future?
Sadly no but I hope to someday!
Well at least you didn't have to plug your computer into the phone jack and dial up AOL I think what happened is starlink is part of now Royal Caribbean and they're putting starlink on all their ships which will increase the power of the internet and the usability of it in any ships do not adopt that system will probably fall behind
Not sure if Enchantment had received those updates yet. Thanks for watching!
Is this good for kids?
Is there an internet cafe on board the ship. Seems really expensive for internet.
Yes there is!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan Oh great. I called them and they said there wasn't.
They had a few computers available for use when I sailed. That could have changed since I was on this ship in September 2022.
Hey Zach, I sent you a QUESTION on your other video for Enchantment of the Seas and will wait for your response. QUESTION: Is there a Casino and is it Non-Smoking?? I don't smoke. Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work. 😎⛹️♀️🤸♂️🚴♂️
There is a casino but I don't think it's non-smoking.
👍🏻❤️
Are all these entertainments free of cost?
They are all free of charge.
