A suggestion for a less expensive site seeing tour of the island. Get off the boat and go to the transportation booth (usually between the two parked boats. Get a day pass (it used to be $10 but it might have gone up). Take the bus from the port to the down town bus terminal. Walk around down town or get the connecting bus to the ‘original’ Swizzle Inn Pub and Restaurant (on the other side of the island.) Go to the Pub and order two or three pitchers of Rum Swizzle and a burger (you won’t regret it). When you’re done come out of the Inn and take the bus to St. George and catch the ferry back to the cruise port (all on the same transportation day pass). A greet inexpensive way to see a lot of the island. And the Rum Swizzle is a must have.
In the 70s i would go to Bermuda a couple times each year via New York cruises. I lived in Philly would hop the train in the morning and go to New York to the pier ask if there were any cabins available, plop my 500 dollars in cash down and sail to Bermuda, we would leave on Saturday arrive in Hamilton on Monday and leave Thursday late morning . At that time it was very British…oh how times have changed from when i took my early cruises. Certainly cant do that now. Thanks for the up to date view of Bermuda..i need to go back🚢😊
Enjoyed your story of going to NYC by train then seeing if you could get a cabin! I thought things had changed so much from when we started cruising 35 years ago, but your story is much more interesting❣Fell in love with St. George's on our earlier ruises on smaller ships that could dock there. Going to Bermuda in 2 1/2 weeks, can hardly wait!!
I live in NY and don't like to fly, but I love to cruise, so I've been to Bermuda three times already and will be going back for a fourth in May. I love Bermuda and never feel unsafe even if I'm by myself.
Again, great video! My girl and I are going on a 7 day, 3 nights on Bermuda! You have saved us a lot of time trying to figure out the most efficient way to see the most. I am 64 years old and have photographed 80+ weddings and love photography. If I get some good sunset or rise shots I’ll let you look at them and if ya want one I’ll send it your way. Keep cruising and please look up Great Harbor Cay. A little known diamond. Great for you and your to have a beautiful beach to yourself- the best part…very little to do. Research it and…..Live Every Day👍
Love the video production on this! Also, there’s so much more to experience throughout the island. The history and culture is indefinite. As locals we know that within the Royal Dockyard, it’s very curated to a quick experience for tourists. Please refrain from bus tours right off the boat and go experience the island by yourselves! You’ll appreciate it much more.
Zach, you are making me homesick. Bermuda is my favorite island and place to visit. I have been there over 30 times. I lost count at 32. There is also a beautiful miniature golf course it sits on a hillside and the views are beautiful. If you did not stop in the glass blowing bldg, you must do that sometime. They have beautiful things for sale. I actually went parasailing there right where the bridge you crossed is. I never did it so did it on my 72nd birthday and loved it. I can not swim, but I had no fear and the water was amazing to look down at. In more recent years I have chosen to stay in St. Georges because I travel alone and that little Parish is a village-type area and I love it. One of the best snorkeling beaches is within walking distance of the little town. If you decide to go there sometime while I am still alive, I could share more about the areas. Figuring I would not be able to go back, I rented an apartment and stayed for 6 weeks and did my own cooking, etc.
Hi Joyce, thank you for sharing these wonderful memories with me. It was a beautiful island and I cannot wait to return someday and visit some of these other places you’ve mentioned. Thanks for watching. 😊
Also lived there for 2 years….so many little things to see and do that the cruise ship does not tell you about. Go to Admirality HOuse and walk down the short hill……hidden beach there! Very calm water, also hidden cave!

You could stay at a hotel but I would let the ship know I was leaving for the night. I’m not sure if there are casinos in Bermuda but there definitely weren’t any in the immediate port area just off the ship.
Great film, Zach! Well be on Enchantment next year and came here to hear your pov. We're trying to reach our first 1k subs and would appreciate your support. Hope to meet you in person on one of our future outings.
I know the English do it all the time, but please don't say England/English when you mean Britain/British. It's like calling the United States 'Texas'. It's not just wrong, it's insulting to the other members of the Union. The U.K. aka Britain, is _not_ 'England'.
I’ve been told this both ways. I’ll say British to some folks and they’ll correct me. I don’t mean to be rude or insensitive to either. Was merely trying to get it right. My apologies!
@@ZachtheTravelingMan You weren't rude or insensitive and you have no need to apologise. to keep it simple and accurate, I suggest you only use England when referring to a literal place _in England._ Otherwise default to Britain. Best thing about Bermuda……no snakes!!!!
You are so right about that!
Great film, Zach! Well be on Enchantment next year and came here to hear your pov. We're trying to reach our first 1k subs and would appreciate your support. Hope to meet you in person on one of our future outings.
Thank you for watching!
lol those phone boxes are British.
Chickens are better than pigeons or crows!
You got that right.
You never been chased by man eating chickens have you? 😆🤣😂
For example: You go to Britain, and stay in England. That way, you can't be wrong.
looks kinda boring honestly
If you catch one of them chickens, can you eat it? 🤔
