I've been playing this for a few months now, it's an easy build once I got used to it. As a plus, after the Renegade buffs (no longer needing 85% boon duration) I can also use the same armorset (with runes) plus almost all trinkets for Power Alacrity Renegade meaning I have access to two key boon supports on the same character. Revenant feels like an amazing class right now.
I agree 👍. It's a super comfortable build once you get used to the facet timings. It's my go-to boon support these days whenever I get the choice. You're right, it's so good that both AlacRen and Quick Herald can feasibly run the same gear. You get such insane value out of that one gear template.
@@anders8461 Apologies, I meant armorset in my original comment, weapons and two of the trinkets still need to be swapped out, but you can keep the armorset with the same runes. Both my Quickness Herald and Alacrity Renegade are direct copies of the snowcrows builds. Herald has 25% BD while Renegade has 38%. However, you can build for alacrity Renegade and you will then have more than enough to maintain quickness on Herald using the same gearset, if you're strapped for gold.
Just levelled up my Revenant and will work towards this build. Looks great! And perfect for me since my main is a reaper, I wanted to try something that provides buffs to teammates.
@@Stormeule I find the Revenant feels familiar in a way other classes don't when compared to the reaper. I guess the balance of stances might explain it, not too complex like say, the Elementalist.
Just want to say that your videos are now my go-to sources of builds. Your explanation on rotation logic makes them much much easier to understand. After the patch hits, would you be willing to cover Quickbrand and Healbrand? Those are probably the most used supports around, and for good reason.
Thanks so much mate! I'm so glad you enjoy the guides and find them useful. I'll definitely be covering the various Firebrand builds. I played FB fairly extensively a few balance patches ago so as soon as the latest balance patch lands I'll start pulling some guides together.
Btw for those who have full zerker gear and still want to play the quickness build, you can just camp Glint stance, spam all your facets on CD and with alacrity you have 100% quickness uptime on full zerker. Of course it's not as optimal as an optimized gearset that allows you to swap stances, but it still works :)
That's a very good point about Berserker gear. Just camping Glint is a nice introduction to being a boon support and you can gear it insanely cheaply in exotic Berserker gear from the TP.
@@connorconcarne yes thats exactly the route i took, it's also nice as you can flex that gear into a full power build (which will teach you to play the proper quickness build) or on other characters as most classes can run zerker effectively. I got full zerker ascended accessories and weapons as a starting point and im now working on divine and assassin gear
Sure thing, if you wanted something super cheap that would still work you could run full exotic Berserker's gear in every slot with the following items to get 40% boon duration: - Rune of the Pack - Sigil of Concentration - Potent Lucent Oil (utility) That could be done for extremely cheap given how little named Berserker's gear costs on the trading post. I'll have a bit more of a think about a slightly more optimized budget build and if I come up with something I'm happy with I'll add it to the description. The Discretize Gear Optimizer is your friend though if you want to work around any gear you already have (such savings).
Great video. Do you know how much dps would you lose if you don't swap to Shiro? I don't know if this rotation is 5o tight or I'm just too slow (most likely) but I can't get the 100% boon uptime if I swap. 😅
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Power Herald still benches around 35.6k dps which is totally fine for raids. Especially considering the extra boons it will pump out which will cover any gaps your boon supports leave.
i'm assuming that they changed something since this vid came out. Draconic echo no longer grants quickness so do you need to swap to elevated compassion?
Hey, do you think there's a world in which condi quickness herald would be possible ? Probably worse than power but it's just in case I need quickness since i don't have the gear
Condition Quickness Herald is definitely a thing. It's fairly uncommon but its run occasionally. It also has the option to run celestial gear to be sort of a hybrid quick DPS and healer. The normal build runs a mix of ritualist and vipers gear though. You can find it on the Snow Crows site under the 'effective' revenant builds.
I've been playing my Condi Quick dps for a while now. And while quickness is easy to keep up, having consistent good dps is rough. If the boss moves or has quick phases you can lose so many windows to dps due to traps/mantras/ground aoe being left behind as the boss moves. Might try out this class tomorrow!
One nice thing about Herald is that it applies its boons in a 600 radius. So, it's insanely easy to cover your team with boons even if you move around a lot. Power Herald also has some great mobility with Sword 5 and Phase Traversal on Shiro as well so I think you'll enjoy it.
According to the Snow Crows discord, Quick FB is currently benching around 30,200 DPS (with allies) which is incredibly close to Quick Herald. Right now I'd say it comes down to personal preference and whether you need access to reflects or not (Revenant can only provide projectile destruction).
As someone very new to the whole way of how Herald shares its boons... the May Balance Update preview states that it will change Facet of Nature to cap to 5 targets instead of 10. How big of an 'oof' is this to the "viability" of the class? I don't mind if it's not THE SUPER BEST THING anymore, but is that gonna catapult herald out of the meta or will the spec be fine even with that change?
No need to worry, the nerf to Facet of Nature won't really impact its position in the meta. It's still the highest damage Power Quickness build and Facet of Nature was just a nice bonus for bringing Herald. Not to mention Quickness Firebrand is getting nerfed as well so relative to that Herald will be even more appealing.
The build has been updated so you now need to take the trait elevated compassion instead of Draconic Echo. I'll do an updated build guide after the next patch when it gets updated again. You can check the video description for more context.
@@SirMitsuruji5 That sounds about right to me. In open world you'd be missing some boons (alacrity) which also reduces your damage from Chaotic Potency. If you're not running food, utilities and infusions in open world as well that'd also lower your damage. So that doesn't sound bad at all.
I'm working on an updated build guide for Quickness Herald at the moment. Good news is, the build is better than ever. You just take Elevated Compassion instead of Draconic Echo and full Berserker gear. You end up with just under 40% boon duration naturally and have no issue keeping up Quickness.
Does the 40% Boon Duration imply having Alacrity on you at all times? If not, how much Boon Duration would I need for Boon Uptime assuming I never get Alacrity?
You don't need to hit 100% crit chance here. Herald doesn't have any traits or effects that benefits from landing critical hits. So it benefits slightly more from the extra power rather than forcing 100% crit chance. I checked using the gear optimizer and a version of the build that hits 10% crit chance was slightly lower damage (28,616 DPS for this version and 28,586 for the 100% crit version). So the difference is super small.
Will have to see how the patch changes impact the build exactly but I'm fairly confident that the build will still be great. It looks like your rotation may change to be more similar to the current Power DPS Herald where you focus on having some upkeeps active at all times for the damage buff. Both Herald guides will be getting an update after the patch drops.
Exotic would perform just fine. You can tweak the gear to still give you 40% boon duration like I mentioned in the video. Or you could just sub out the pieces like for like with exotic gear and just have slightly lower boon duration. There was enough leeway in the total boon duration so you should be totally fine.
Hi :) If you want one gear set for both builds I'd just run the Power AlacRen gear I listed in one of my previous videos. It has the higher boon duration requirement so that's the threshold you need to meet. That gear will work just fine for Quick Herald as well.
@@connorconcarne thanks a lot! you mention in video that you need %33 but foe safety you go for %40, should i cut a bit to not lose too much dps on herald
You need to swap Draconic Echo to Elevated Compassion now. The quickness generation got moved to there. I'll be releasing an updated guide in the next few days.
I think your main is safe 🙂. Quickness Herald is in the perfect spot balance wise imo. I'd expect to see qFB getting toned down before Herald even gets a look in (if I were a betting man).
