Well Paul i regreat no leveling the ground, my plastic stock tank dont have the flat aread like yours but drilling the hose was not bad, I place but of them at same height, the problem I have us that this same pump now only comes with the outlet, not the intake inlet, so I bougth 1 from Leslie's and it seem that te part where the hose nut screw in to the inlet fiting tread is not going deep enough and I had a huge leak, it was terrible, I will say anything doing this get some gaskets for the hose nuts, dry fit them and have them just in case.

I have a 10 foot one. I am not going to go to all that trouble to put in a pump filter and all that stuff. We just add 2 oz of bleach per 50 gallons per the extension office for livestock tanks with algee in them. Still safe to drink and everything. If it gets too dirty just pull the plug and fill again. We have our own well so water is the cost to pump it.
I paid 700 dollars and a few dollar for mine just a week ago delivered to my house and set in the front yard and filled. Just had a nice swim in it and its pretty warm far from 55f for the well water temp.
I wish mine had those flat sides. I am just hunting around to see what people did for the inner flange that is on my stock tank. Its like they add a 2nd ring over the top to make it much stronger for the cattle to bash against it.
I may consider digging out a pit and laying down some foam and a brick wall with foam on it and then build one of those plastic deckes around it. Only a few feed and add me in a simple debris filter, couple of jets, a bubblier and some lights.

Hi Paul, thanks for the video. We actually purchased a stock tank just like this. We are currently searching for a filter. Is there a particular reason you went with the pump that you have shown here in the video? Is there a reason why an INTEX pump made for above ground pools that have 350-530 GPH rate would not be acceptable? The INTEX Krystal pumps with 1500 GPH seems overkill for a 650 gallon pool, or am I missing something? Thanks for your time.

Thanks for sharing about the poly tank. I’ve been looking at stock tanks last couple years but was concerned to spend $400 for a rust bucket. Lol. I like look of metal but the poly seem to me that chlorine would be accepted & I also was concerned about the zinc leashing from the galvanized tanks. I notice the poly has ridges on the floor, is that a toe stubber? Is there something to help make the bottom where feet are more smooth or is it not noticeable? I noticed your pool is on a concrete slab. Is it level? I have a concrete slab that slopes to drain water away from the house. We had a metal stock tank pool there years ago without an issue. I wonder if the slope would be ok for a poly stock tank pool. If not, any suggestions on how to level the area?

@@ProjectsWithPaul Last question i promise!😊 I just placed an order after watching your video for a smaller 6 foot polyurethane tank. I was looking at a smaller pump from intex like the 1000. Just wondering if you think the inlets outlets and hoses are standard? Meaning would i still use a 2 3/4 whole saw? The 1000 comes with1.25in (32mm) diameter hose fitting. Not sure if your 1500 is the same? Tried finding info on it with no luck. Any advice on a pump would be much appreciated. I promise to leave you alone now😊. Thanks again Paul

If anything metal is under water, it'll evenrually have the risk of rusting. Especially with Chlorine eating at it all the time. Galvanized or not! I have heard some have luck with super cleaning the inside with denatured alcohol and spraying a rubberized coating all over the inside. I haven't heard what the rusults were on that option. Has anyone else heard anything?

My son sprayed his metal tank and it began peeling after a season. They are making 8' diameter liners now on Amazon. That might be a good option for metal tanks.
