    • @seanwalsh2378

      @Lotra Cuenta Yes but we are ''changing'' the planet. We are now a force of nature. And i don't think that we really truly really understand what we are yet. Our relationship with nature needs to change or else Billions of us could perish in not even a few decades. When people say ''killing planet''...''saving planet''...you have to understand that this is just semantics...language is rarely ever taken literally. It is just for effect. The planet will remain long after we have gone, but you must get with the program...we are talking about the very near term extinction of our species.. You, me and our grandchildren's grandchildren . We are a hyper intelligent species 'supposedly...and IT CAN be prevented.

    • @seanwalsh2378
      @seanwalsh2378 3 года назад +1

      @Lotra Cuenta The extinction event that we will cause is going to be worse than the End Permian extinction event. It is happening 100s of times faster. Life will take 100s of thousands of years to recover, maybe a Million. Then evolution will go on a completely new path. WE will be the cause of this MASSIVELY EVOLUTIONARY SHIFT in deep time...not tectonic activity, not an asteroid, not a gamma ray burst. We move more sediment than all of the natural forces combined (tidal/wind etc). We can create the conditions of the center of a star. We are changing the chemical composition of our Atmosphere and Oceans in just a few decades. We can remove Ice shelves in a few centuries, change the weather and ocean currents. What other creature has done this? When we are gone there will be a layer or synthetic material embedded into the rock. We are changing the planets geology also. After taking some of these factors into account...how can you still think that we are NOT a force of nature?
      In regards to our intelligence. I say 'hyper' because compared to the 2nd most intelligent (non-hominid) creature that ever existed, our intelligence is off the scale. We are capable of unlocking many of the secrets of the Universe etc etc.

    • @vrASMR180
      @vrASMR180 3 года назад +18

      @@gemelwalters2942 That's effectively what I just said. We have empowered China for decades now by relying on them for all things. We are simply keeping 1.3 billion people as happy as we can, with a government that has a very impressive military. If a few major countries (USA, Canada, etc.) truly wanted to end their reliance on China it would be devastating to the country and with 1.3 billion people living in a crumbling economy and no prospects I can promise you the Chinese government would start a war or threaten war. Basically just like North Korea. They launch missiles just to strong arm countries into sending them aide. China would be that x1000.
      Not to say every other country is clean, but China alone makes a MASSIVE impact on the environment and shutting them down would do wonders for healing mother Earth. The issue is who is actually going to stop doing business with China? And how would China survive if they had to stop doing all the things that cause the pollution in the first place? The bottom line is, pretty or not, China would essentially need to die off for a big move to be made to fix the environment. But no one wants to have that conversation. Instead it's more convenient to focus on electric cars locally and pretend it makes a difference.

      @Dariel Rojas I am happy for you.
      Here’s unsolicited advice. Extract what’s helpful or think of it as a helpful message to others just stating out:
      Eat more of the veggies, greens, grains and fruits that you are already accustomed to, and gradually introduce new items to proliferate the new gut microbiomes which help break down the fiber; this is to avoid bloating that many people experience initially upon sudden influx of fiber. For recipe ideas, install the apps such as Fork-over-knives, 21 Day Kickstart from PCRM, Dr Michael Greger’s DailyDozen recipes, as well as consult pages like this, online and RUclips. The Happy Cow app shows where the nearest vegan restaurant in your area is. Initially, don’t venture too far on empty stomach whereby you find yourself in weak moments and succumbing to the aromas emanating from the animal products; take some healthy snacks with you. Make sure to supplement with vitamin b12, d3 if you don’t get enough sunshine every day, a third of a teaspoon of the iodized salt if you don’t eat seaweeds, as well as flaxseeds, hempseeds, walnuts and chia seeds for your omega 3s. Due to the concept of calorie density, and if you go whole-food plant-based like me, you can have as many servings of soups, salads and curries until you feel full , and will have ingested less calories than an order or two of chicken nuggets. For a healthful education, you can follow the following on the RUclips: Drs Michael Klaper, Milton Mills, Michael Greger, Kim Williams, John McDougal, William Li, Esselstyn, T Colin Campbell, John Furman, Neal Barnard, Will Bulsiewicz as well as the dietitian Lee Crosby and Mic the Vegan, amongst many others.

      It's imperative that we TRANSITION away from Oil...not just because of the environmental consequences...but more importantly because It's FINITE...a century or two's worth is all that we have left in the ground...and most of that is difficult and expensive to extract in the form of Fracking.
      ...And energy demand is growing more and more every year... Then what Einstein??...business as usual, until we just violently collapse when all the Oil runs dry??Also we need to find replacements for plastics/rubber/asphalt and many others...as they too are derived from Oil.
      As we have now passed 'peak Oil' and move further into the future the financial markets are becoming more and more volatile...Boom and Bust..Boom and bust. That's because Oil is becoming more and more expensive as it diminishes. It'll reach a stage in the near future when it won't even be cost effective for big corporations to extract it anymore...Hence why players like BP/Shell/Exxon are already starting to transition to Green anyway as they prepare for this.
      Seriously...come on. This is basic school kid stuff.

It's just till a lot start to wake up and know that we are the ones that bring up about change. Keep on sharing and you'll see the change that's already happening starts to go faster. There's a lot of denial and brainwash in the media. The use of psychology and science shouldn't really be used agaisnt us (to buy more of this and this). Wait till more people start to wake up. Till then keep on learning and searching for answers for most things in life, and keep sharing. Silently, if it can't be loudly, speak your truth. • @altoburger9692
      @altoburger9692 3 года назад +29

      @@gamwpanagia The main reason have higher rates of cancer now is because we live longer. Just a few generations ago our average lifespan was about 20 years less than it is now. Go back even even longer and our average lifespan decreases even further. Yes, the things we eat and consume can be carcinogenic to some extent (example - red and processed meat is so carcinogenic, there's more cancerous cells in a Big Mac than there are in half a packet of cigarettes), but modern medicine has vastly extended our lifespans making it much more likely to get cancer before we die.
      Also, if everyone became vegan, we'd free up a landmass the size of Africa and stop more greenhouse gases entering our atmosphere than all the world's transportation systems combined. A cow eats 7 times it's own weight before it's slaughtered. Meat is the least sustainable food source we have and if the human population continues to grow at this extent, the price of meat will be so expensive in 100 years the average person won't be able to afford it because demand will outweigh the ability to supply.
      It's ironic that you'd be against veganism, but call someone else "intellectually lazy". What you wrote isn't just lazy - it's straight up stupid.

    I watched "What the health" about 2,5 years ago. It made me question where my food came from, what it does to my health, the welfare of the planet and the welfare of animals. Sinds then I have done a lot of research and it send me on a journey to find out what else was hidden out there that I did not know about. I eventually realized that the way we feed ourselves is correlated with a lot of problems we all collectively face : climate change, animal cruelty, chronic diseases, antibiotic resistance, OVERFISHING, environmental destruction, etc....
    I have been vegan for about two years now. I don't know anyone personally that is also vegan, except from my little brother who was prepared to listen to me. Going vegan is by far the best choice I have ever made in my life. Thank you very much Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn for making this film. It shaped my life in a way I could have never imagined.

    So basically... The whole "ban single plastic to save marine animal" campaign thing is just the very, very tiny tip of the iceberg of... Fishing nets being the actual waste problem in the ocean. Hence fishing is the main problem of all and there's no such thing as "sustainable fishing" at all. So sickening.

      @spurkay2 3 года назад +3

      If you actually look at images of the pacific garbage patch, it's pretty easy to see that. I'd say, it's humans and their pathetic behaviors that is the problem, across the board.

      I think people should also concentrate on plastic because Its soo dangerous for animals and loads of them dies by starws and plastic bags 😭😭

    • @wruzzer
      @wruzzer 3 года назад

      Well, the documentary is partly wrong about this. Yes, fishing nets are a huge problem, but not over 50% of the plastic in the oceans. It's about 20%. And even if it was 50%, we should still stop using single use plastic. Whatever, eating fish is a much bigger problem than plastic. So the main message of the documentary is true.
