This is a great live final document of his songs! Sounds great here! RIP Roky
Man, Starry Eyes still gives me goosebumps.
Спасибо, это великий рок музыкант - отличный концерт, !!! Браво !!! 😀✊👍‼RIP Roky
POR SIEMPRE ROKY ERICKSON CAMPEON DE LA VIDA, DESCANSA EN PAZ AHORA
... mamma mia! mai sentito niente di simile: inenarrabile, fulmini, saette tonitruanti, non riesco a staccarmene grandissimo concerto ... avere condiviso la stessa epoca di Roky Erickson mi riempie di gioia ... inenarrabile punk up 'n' roll on ...
he's so engaged through most of this, so awsome! Very true, this band did a good job backing him up and you can tell he's feeling the energy. Its true though why can't I hear his guitar jeeze, these are his songs.
i have never heard of roky until i heard bong waters cover of you dont love me yet and bought the cd of where the pyramid meets the eye and holy crap amazing songs of what some people have in there mind. and great versions of rokys songs.
Roky Erickson крутой рокер! неубиваемый! Roky так держать!!!
You are all so special
Some don't realize, others realize it
But we won't forget or miss you...
Cela fait des décennies que j'écoute Roky, un grand merci pour ce magnifique concert
Rocky was from Dallas Texas. The 13th floor elevators were from Austin
Legend!!!
Muchisimas gracias por el video, acabo de ver un documental sobre este músico y me ha encanatdo poder ver ahora este concierto. salu2
Cual documental?
I just love this. father and son (Jegar Erickson) playing both old and new together. My favorite are the older 13 Elevator tunes which they bring to life with new energy. Reverberation, Roller Coaster, etc. For me those songs, those earliest songs, about the LSD experience, are the ones that stand out as special and transcendant...makes we wonder, did Rocky and Jared ever 'experience" together?
What instrument did his son play?
the end credits say Jon Sanchez lead guitar
C’est tout simplement magnifique, unique. Un bonheur !
Great to see him on that stage!
Grande Rokyyyyy!!!
sooo underrated!
Criminally
Nice rocking set; I think Roky definitely approves of his band. He is always looking over and nodding appreciately to the guitar player. I think he wanted a big, psychedelic sound reminiscent of the Elevators. He got it.
He did that no matter who he played with. I think it was just a nervous tic, or maybe looked over to his right when he didn't feel comfortable looking at the audience.
This is how musicians communicate on stage. With looks.
The riff at @ 28 mins is awesome!!!
NOTHING BETTER THAN THAT, STARRY EYES FUCK YEAH
Go Roky go!
2024 rock on forever my amazing man
Holy Sit >>awesome !
I was there! Magic.
Starry eyes... ❤️😎
Love Roky!
Awesome!
How the hell was this guy huge there but almost unknown outside of Texas? Crazy.
He was so engaged and present for that brief time (from about 2005 to 2010) that it was painful to see him shutting down again in the subsequent years.
Rocky is great man !!! like this music
FANTASTICO
I dont remember the year, in the 9th grade, myself and one of my good freinds Travis Peoples
& a couple other guys played in a state wide
Industrial Arts talent
Show, only playing Elevators tunes, we got 4th
In the state competition, my buddy Travis could belt out Roky like no one else could but Roky, we even beat out the local guys
(Conroe Tx)playing top
40 hits. I never knew how popular they were until
the early seventies. It was good back then but didnt take long before it was a little much, but who would have thought a 13th Floor
Elevators cover band would even be recognized
at such an event in Texas
In the sixties, where country music ruled.
The kid playing guitar owns this !
That guitarist is Jon Sanchez who has played with Rich Hopkins and the Luminaros, Chrysta Bell, and Chaos Horde among others during his career.
@@thomasmartin2838 - I never head of him before but he's excellent> Somebody said his son played on this? It that correct?
Woooow Thanx for share!
Just 💘
ROKY FOREVER
🖤
NOW I CAN SEE WHY GHOST BC LOVES THIS GUY SIMPLY AMAZING.........
if you cant hear roky play you need to train your ears people geez he even does bits of lead guitar every now and then
GREAT set! I work faster when listening to Roky!
Totally agree. But just as important Damek's observation Roky's still playing. It's criminal iv'e yet to see him. Hope he comes to Blighty this year.
🤘🕊🎙🎸🤘
ROKY is my god
noooooooooooooo, Rocky is Dead , Jesus live forever
Wouldn't it HAVE to be at least somewhat as you suggest? Hipster. or what have they?.. I think the bottom line here is that Roky is on that stage. I've no issue with that.. I'm grateful he's still with us.
The last stand !!!
What a great show that was. The backing band did a great job. I can't hear Roky's guitar which is bummer, though.
But' if you really watch this concert you can easily see that' he have lost his ability to play a decent guitar! The band did' a good job in (2010) but' that' is sad to see that' he have lost his ability to play because just a few years earlier he played totally different! If you watch some videos from (2007) three years before this he was really the guitar-player for his band! //R.
amazing band
who are they.
The music will let you .....threw
I am shocked to get him to this point and insult him ... shockin
Weergaloze psychorock van de master Roky Erickson
Ich bin gerade wieder in meinem Bett gekommen und bin ein isschentipsyvondie breesrer
That is a very cool guitar that he is holding, what is it?
Gibson es-135
Its an es double cut - hard to tell what, with the parallelogram block inlays (135 is single cut), and the bigsby has the 'E' epiphone logo.
¿Cómo se llama la banda que lo acompaña?
Ykoki
this is better from him band quite laid back he sings great good feel to the song
Rolling Stones aint got a clue on Roky
Who is on the lead guitar?
Jegar Erickson, Rocky Erickson son
@@Alejandro-df3jh Thanks for that info - I didn't see that coming at all!
It's Jon Sanchez - i think he's still around Austin Texas. Playing his es epiphone. Great tones :)
Rocky is too low in the mix. There is other footage from this same tour where he is much further up with some nice fuzz effect and it sounds better for it.
Poor Roky, he can´t play one note on the guitar these days. Saw him five days later. The voice is still there though.
Roky should've been with a smaller band and it may have been a little more focused! The Explosives!! It always works period. Glad Roky's still doing what he does but thi nk of his muisc!!
I cannot hear Roky's guitar once during this video.
I can hear every single note.
I disagree.. I think the band does an admirable job backing him, I wouldn't call them hipster, but psychedelic
I love Roky, but this band... They're mismatched. Roky's not a hipster--and his songs are infused with the frailty and pain of his difficult life. This band is running roughshod over his tender personality and music. I'm sure they're a great band--but poorly mated to Roky and his music.
Actually, listening to The Aliens and stuff like that - I think they're great for Roky! In the early days with this band, it was very very spot on. Rokys getting old. Anyone who'd lived such a difficult life as his would have a hard time touring at his age.
I disagree your statement about the band The running roughshod over his material. I thought they were playing his music with a musicality and a great feel. You can bet had Rocky agreed with your statement he would have gotten rid of them immediately. Rocky was from Dallas Texas, the center of the hip universe
This is a great document roky Erickson and his songs in his later years. He told me that he loved Paul Revere and the Raiders. Now go check Revere and the Raiders out
what about the live from Mike Rivera ? the guys who was playing at a day a nigth interwie?
