Hey everyone. June 15 2022. This happened to my sons iPhone 12 on iOS 15.5 today and using the reset method work. Setting/general/transfer or reset iPhone/ reset/reset network setting. It will ask for you passcode then start the reset. You will see a apple logo and loading bar. Black screen then back to Lock Screen. Go to setting/ Wi-Fi then find your network. It did not affect Bluetooth connections.

If this happened to you after your device turned on, then shut it back down and turn it back on again. It should work, it did for me.

I’m having a bigger problem. My iPhone doesn’t only have wifi greyed out, but also iCloud and Find My, as well as Bluetooth being in a continuous loading cycle. I tried resetting network settings as well as restarting my phone, but that didn’t work.
Me too! It's fucking annoying! It keeps restarting and disabling my Wifi and I can't fucking enable the wifi again. It takes like 50 restarts until the wifi is on again and then the fucking shit is restarting again and disabling it!

After having tried all the standard methods available (except full factory reset) and nothing worked, I ended up doing the hard core method found on some forum which is making it hot with hair-dryer then putting it in the freezer for a few minutes, and it worked!!! (not sure how long it will last)
Well it only lasted a couple of days, then suddenly the iphone crashed and rebooted on its own, and the wifi switch is gone again…

Mines same way but I slammed it on the desk an half of my back glass is falling apart 😂 I put tap over if lmfaooooo but mines was stuck in a boot loop the phone sometimes comes on for like 2 mins then restarts but I fixed it by just dropping the phone again and shaking it hard it lasted for a while maybe 4 months but now I’m just having the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems again it just came back a week ago I was able to fix it again but the Wi-Fi an Bluetooth problem happens repeatedly if my phone dies
You should try restarting the phone turn the accessibility setting that’s what I do and shake the phone hard it should restart then do a second restart like if it was in a boot loop then everything should work perfectly fine it can take a while so please don’t give up I took me 15 mins one time to fix it I restart the phone like 20 times it was annoying

Had this exact issue and updating my phones software also failed Bluetooth to stop working, had to go to a repair shop and they "Reballed" my wiif chip it worked fine for 2 months but its happening again.
Now again my WIFI button greys out repeatedly but starts working by one of these 2 methods:
1) Hard Reset(Press upVolume, DownVolume, and then hold power button until apple logo appears)
2) Reset Network Settings
its been a month and its annoying to do it again and again
