Great presentation but how can you refer to it being almost unethical to start with the diet as opposed to drugs in any cases? All drugs have some side effects. I don't have epilepsy and I'm on a reasonably strict ketogenic diet using non-processed foods and it's not difficult to adhere to at all. Even without the health benefits of a ketogenic diet I'd likely remain on it just due to taste and the reduction in appetite that it produces.

Why do some of these physicians keep talking about being able to add more carbs to make the diet 'more palatable'? A well-formulated ketogenic diet is delicious! 'Luxurious'mis the word Jeff Volek, PhD uses. This is referring to a ketogenic diet using whole foods.

My girlfriend has recently had her life changed by a large increase in "none epileptic seizures". She has 2 to 10 seizures daily (combination of gra ma and focal). I need help getting information on how to start this diet. She has no medical insurance since she has lost her job because of excessive absents. So financial issues are very prevalent for us and professional help is very limited. I need help

First thing I think is cut out carbs and sugar. No diet sodas or no sugar drinks. Then hi fat foods like bacon and eggs

I am a 57 yr old lady who is epileptic and I have a history of heart attack as well. My new neurologist has prescribed a ketogenic diet or a modified Atkins plan for me to help further control my seizures. I am quite concerned that such a food plan might cause further heart damage! What say you? Thanks so much for your input!!

Michelle Duquette take a look at the RUclips videos with Ivor Cummins. He explores a lot of the root causes behind heart disease.

Why is this only a treatment with children? As an adult that just started having seizures, I am doing keto with some success. But also CBD. I take 200mg dose every morning. Why is this information so hard to find? Especially for adults

Probably because medication often works and diet is hard to stick to. But if you want there is plenty of info to find on how to do it.

I was born with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. I have a twin brother, i was born first. My brother was born with no problems. I take phenytoin for my epilepsy, as a child I was on phenabarbatone, then at 14 i was put on Epilim 500mg. Which caused me to gain lots of weight. I went to live in Canada for a few years where I was taken off eperlim & switched to phenytoin. Which I still take today. As a child I had grand mal seizures, which doctors said I would grow out of. Which I did, but I now have petit mal. It' feels weird when I have it, i can hear all thats going on around me, but ppl and any noise, sound much louder, plus it feels like I'm floating on water. Before the seizure I get the smell like burnt toast. I can have a seizure at any time, night or day. Unpredictable. I feel a little confused when I come round, which lasts for a couple of minutes, then I'm back with you again. Usually a cup of tea helps me recover. I read a lot of blogs where people who shared their testimonies kept mentioning Anti-seizure Herbal medication. I searched for a website I just followed the email address of Doctor Patrick that was shared on these testimonies; I got lucky when I got a reply from Dr. Patrick. I followed his instruction, used Herbal Medicine in less than 2 months, I was already cure because of the changes I was seeing. Within a period of 5 months, I was cured totally forever. I went back to my neurologist, I was checked up and marked epilepsy free. If you need his help you can Contact this herbal doctor via his email herbalmedicalhome@gmail.com and WhatsApp connection is +2348102558553 for help, facebook.com/Doctor-Patrick-119465009919223.
