    How Long can these be stored though? Will the mochi harden inside after some time or will it remain the same?

      Just eat them as soon as possible…as we don't add chemicals into the cookies…they won't last as long as the commercial

    Hi, may I why do you need to poke holes through the cling wrap for the mochi ? I am actually wondering if that is required because it is toxic to steam cling wrap? please correct me if I'm wrong thanks!

    • @FlournFlower
      @FlournFlower  4 года назад

      wrapping with cling wrap is to prevent water from dripping on top of the mochi
      poking holes is to prevent the cling wrap stick on the surface of the mochi
      as long as the cling wrap is not directly touching the food, it should be fine, but of course that depends on the quality of the cling wrap you chose
      you can also use a bigger plate, slip upside down and cover the bowl if you worried about using cling wrap

    • @FlournFlower

      I am using a creamy method here with butter to add the air into the dough, if you use olive oil instead, the texture of the cookies maybe different, but it still can form a cookie

    Thank you for the recipe!! I made these the other day and me and my family loved them! Can I ask how I can store them when I make them again? Because the last few cookies I had left the mochi inside turned hard even after storing in an air tight container :(

    • @FlournFlower

      Store in airtight container at room temperature…
      I think the problem is not about how you store it…but you should massage the mochi for longer…i maasage mine for 10mins…

    I don't have a steamer so I used the microwave and did 30-sec intervals about 5-6 times while stirring in between. I've let the mochi cool in the fridge for about 1.5 hours now but it's still very sticky, did I do something wrong? Does it need to cool longer or be put in the microwave for longer?

    • @FlournFlower
      @FlournFlower  4 года назад

      You don't need a steamer…i am using a large saucepan add water…boiled the water with high heat…then add a rack and place my bowl inside that saucepan…be sure the water level is just touching he bottom of the mochi bowl…steam it with high heat

    • @FlournFlower
      @FlournFlower  4 года назад

      If you wanna to check if the mochi is ready…you can poke a skewer into the mochi…if not sticking on the skewer…then should be ready

    • @FlournFlower
      @FlournFlower  4 года назад

      Meeble btw mochi is suppose to be sticky…that's why we add butter after steaming it and massage it…so is not too sticky when we modeling it

    Hello. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I made it today but it was different from your great cookie.
    After baking it, that is not as chewy as yours. It was a little more stiff than I think.
    I baked it for 12 minutes at 190 Celsius degrees and it is steamed for 30 minutes, chilled for 1 hour.
    I think I carried through your recipe a little well.
    If any other problem happens, I think that baking time is not appropriate for my home oven.
    So, I think it is overcooked.
    Would you tell me why the mochi is a little stiff? I wish your reply.

    • @FlournFlower
      @FlournFlower  3 года назад +1

      For chewy mochi, you have to massage the mochi dough longer, I usually massage it for at least 10mins
