    Yo Juliane, Oh yeah, I remember those Dream CL72s they were my first rides as a youth. Great Motorsickles. Easy to ride. Oh yeah I'm showing my age. I have 58 years riding under my Butt. I still Live, Breathe & Bleed Honda Red. Thank you for a great review and all the specs. Most people overlook these smaller displacement Motorsickles. They forget how fun they are to ride. You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda Valkyrie. Keep the Shiny Side Up. Hello again from Mid Michigan, USA 🇺🇸

    new subscriber here from Philippines, very straightforward review and informative. Perfect to what I have to know for this CL500, hope to see this in PH, i;'m sure the corrupt dealers here will take advantage of this. I think this will be a good choice versus Triumph, Ducati scrambler.... yeah I know, displacements are far from these pricier bikes, but it's honda, I think this is a well balanced bike.

    I have an scl500 with very few miles on it because I bought it on end of year clearance so I've only had it during the winter. Years ago I had a early 70s 360cc Honda Scrambler that I rode the holy crap out of because I got it well used at a low price. Between the two they have the exact same build ethic, street engine with slightly modified frame and high muffler. I think I am going to love this Scrambler as much or more than the old one, and I am going to ride the crap out of her but not abusively. I will be turning her into a street racer.

  • @posterlion
    @posterlion Год назад +1

    All the manufacturers are pretending a bit much with these "retro" offerings. Honda's website description of a "high-mount muffler" is laughable. The headers run under the frame, so, any non-pavement riding will have to be free of rocks, logs, and ruts. That said, this bike is a giant step up from the Rebel in my opinion. I can't imagine owning a motorcycle that as no passenger accommodations. My teenage and young adult life would have been ruined with no way to offer fair maidens a ride on my motorcycle. The SCL500 rectifies that problem.

  • @dirkdiggler5164
    @dirkdiggler5164 Год назад +3

    There's been examples of the engine case snapping in 1/2 on the 500's. They use the engine as a stressed member of the frame. That's OK if it's in the Rebel. But when people bring these off road, it's too much stress. A Scrambler needs a cradle frame, like all the dual-sports have.

    Nice, comprehensive review. Handy little bike and it did look good with the off-road/style pack. The only thing I did notice was how far through the stroke the forks seemed to sit, even with a lighter rider like yourself on smooth roads. I guess comfort is the name of the game, but I wonder how much suspension reserve the forks had under braking? Especially with a 100kg rider!

    For those who have a keen eye, this was a text book case of someone having a mild panic attack in the middle of the presentation. Shortness of breath, high quavering voice, she probably felt like someone was pressing hard on her chest.
    Good for you for pushing through and completing the presentation. Completing the mission, then repeating until the feeling ceases, is the only way to train your brain to settle down. Otherwise the same activity will trigger fight/flight mode and will reinforce each time.

      For those who have a keen eye, this was a book case of someone standing in the sun at 89 degrees Fahrenheit, after a 30 minute German video presentation and after that a 15 minute English presentation. Sorry for being a little bit out of breath 🙄

      Yes, it looked familiar to me in hot New Mexico: you were getting overheated. It wasn’t intrusive, so bravo for toughing it out.

    I am sure it'll be a great fun bike, my old 650 Dominator was one of my favourites. But looks wise, this bike is absolutely drab, it has zero charm. It's missing something, an alloy front guard would help, anything to break up the drabness.
