When I was a kid I thought Spinister was Springer's evil brother because they had similar-sounding names and both turned into helicopters.

Honestly, only ever knew of Spinister from the IDW comics. The Scavengers were my favorite part of MTMTE and Lost Light story lines. (Next to, Ten and Autobot Megs)

When I was a little girl I used to be into princesses and stuff. Barbie, Disney, and that space battles thing. I used to want to marry a prince like a true [CENSORED], but then I discovered Transformers. And when I read those Marvel Comics (out of order on google), I realized that the person I REALLY wanted to marry was Purple, Pink, Cyan, and a hecking Helicopter! He’s just so precious, mysterious, and BEAUTIFUL with a capital everything! I’ve been into Transformers for 8 years, and watching Spinister pop up unexpectedly like a mole in whack-a-mole was what I LIVED for! I love it when he gets attention, and this video gave me that same feeling of joy whenever I saw him! Thanks for the great videos, as always!

Geez. Everyone kept making the "take a shot everytime cosmically powered Starscream is mentioned and you'll die", but you could make a lethal drinking game about how many characters got the most life in the IDW comic books. Those writers must really love the franchise to do their best to give even obscure characters some great spotlight.
I dunno. It's great they give the characters (known or unknown) life but I've seen some given it more in the form of Frankenstein's monster than something desirable.

Yeah I’m guessing it’s because some of the writers probably had those obscure characters when they were kids, I mean not everyone got to grow up with an Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, or any of the other heavy hitters

Too bad there's no toy based on that design. I would've had one already. It would make sense now given that hasbro has finally started to produce more toys with cybertronion alt modes again.
I think Spinister's been as durable as he is because of that name.
...Actually, talking of, it feels like a lot of characters from that era to be remembered are Decepticons. The other Decepticon Double Targetmasters, Needlenose and Quake, appear semi-frequently and have gotten some spotlight showings, while the Autobot Double Targetmasters are Landfill, Scoop, and Quickmix, of which only Scoop has ever gone onto anything (due mostly to his inexplicable Thrilling 30 toy). And it's the same thing with the Pretenders, where Bludgeon, Thunderwing, Monstructor, and Octopunch tend to show up a lot more often than any of that era's Autobots, with only Longtooth making occasional appearances. And of the Action Master originals, Banzaitron and Krok are easily the most noteworthy; closest thing to a big name after them is probably Jackpot.
I think there might be a good reason for that. There were more Autobots that Decepticons in the first few years of the line and since those characters tend to be the best-remembered there needs to be more Decepticons to bolster numbers in later incarnations. So we look to the Decepticon characters from later in those years. The other Autobots? Not necessary we already got enough iconic Autobots.
@@tomhur1 also most of the late 80s Autobots were rather dull, turning into bricks with a cockpit, wheels and/or wings, whereas the Decepticons had an assortment of all manner of monsters
Don't forget Landmine being a huge part of the unicron trilogy and having a new toy in the live action toyline.

Never even heard of this guy until Siege, and I had no interest in getting his figure at all when I saw it on shelves. Really the only thing interesting to me was his name.

I would love to put my hands over that Siege Spinister. It looks amazing. I first met my boy in IDW with my other boys the Scavengers, they all are amazing
I had his G1 toy when I was a kid, he's one I really wish I still had. But I happily grabbed his Siege figure a few months back, I really like the character thanks to the IDW comics and his Siege toy is a nifty figure with a fun non-symmetrical transformation.

I love how Decepticon background goons always end up as the best toys like Spinister, Skytread and Triggerhappy.
Supposed with their obscurity, they take much greater liberties towards them but still keeping them faithful to the original designs.
Spinister has to have goofiest name and colors and honestly that’s amazing. When it comes to my TF Collection, his Siege toy has to be one of my personal favorites cause it just radiates coolness, the transformation is fun and overall the figure can pull off some cool poses especially with a stand. Hopefully I can track down a G1 Spinister down the line. Amazing videos as always!

I'm making a new transformers series based on this character where he starts as a mysterious fellow(g1) and with his experiences in the mayhem attack squad, he quickly spirals out of control and turns Spinister into a paranoid maniac in IDW( I love IDW Spinister).

Here's an additional fun fact for you - in the book "The Unofficial Guide to Transformers 1980s -1990s" his sole mention is being listed off with the other toys released that year, with pictures, and his name was misprinted as "Spinster". Glad to finally know more about him.

Kind of ironic that the guy whose name is a play on "sinister" has never really been portrayed as a very sinister character.

As of October 2020, thanks to that new SIEGE toy, Spinister does show up in the Netflix WFC cartoon, as a soldier in Megatron’s forces. He briefly took on Optimus Prime, and got stabbed for his troubles, but survived and continued to fight Prime’s troops up until the space bridge explosion at the end of the first chapter. Though treated as just another face in the crowd, it marks Spinister’s first appearance on television.
1:41,oh..OH GOD! NOW I REMEMBER! When I was young,I used to read something called Transformers Annual. I always mistook him for Vortex and this was after I got the Transformers discs that have episodes Search for Alpha Trion - BOT. That was when I was in Grade school but back then,I read this book my cousin used to have when I was super young.
I recalled how Bludgeon sliced off Optimus' head and a wolf monster gasping for water when he was tired in the desert and not to mention,the cover of the annual having rampaging Dino robots which I later discovered they were the Dinobots. >_
Drive Spinister is one of my favs outta the WFC collection. Fun transformation, exclnt articulation and just all around bad ass decepticon. Had to buy two of them cause my granddaughter loved him abit more than I do, at least she is getting raised right!👍
Thanks to this episode I was actually familiar with Spinister when he showed up in the series series, and a tad bit bummed out when he got impaled by Optimus.

His color scheme is so outrageous its wonderful! When I got the original figure back in the day, it was between Spinister and one other. I had both figures at the register, but money enough for only one. I don't even remember what that other figure was. I'd love to get my hands on the latest figure!

Honestly one of best underrated characters from the late G1 days. He’s a good guy on the wrong team and means well for his comrades. Not to mention his Siege toy is one of the best.

Spinister is one of the best names I've ever heard in Transformers. Also, while the colour-scheme is bizarre, I can't help but love it. I might have to look into getting this toy.
Spinister is my stand out Favourite of the Siege deluxe figures, he is just so cool and his colour scheme just makes him stand out in the decepticon lineup and he looks great in both modes.

rw:black out ,grindor,now Spinister are the only Decepticons or maybe even Cyclonus are the only decepticons who can transform into Helicotpers.
G1 Spinister is an interesting character. He needs the Masterpiece treatment.
The recent toy is a blast. Even his colour scheme is growing on me. Half tempted to hunt down his G1 iteration

Spinister has "the coolest name" of all the Transformers, Singe and Hairsplitter will see to that. Slayride and Sinnertwin are scraplets compared to this Decepticon Double Targetmaster.
They went with the name Hairsplitter when they couldn't secure the copyright for Walter Peck.

Great video again Sir, most interesting, I do remember this character from the original g1 series but unfortunately back in 1988 my mom vassa past away from a brain aneurysm in her sleep which through me off for the rest of my life and never got the original figure seen the newer one here but I couldn't figure out who the hell he was now I know LoL.
