They're Decepticons, what else were you expecting? Plus, they were killed in the Marvel comics early so there wasn't enough time to develop them (until FunPub pretty much carried on their stories).
In transformers prime Shockwave was a nuetral syclops and dead end (could be wrong about the name thought) he was also a nuetral desepticon because 1. His rank in the desepticon faction was more of a job and 2. He was sensitive about his veical mode getting scratch up.
I think I "sea" your point about the Seacon song, it's hilarious and fun! I like ocean-themed Transformers too with Skalor being my favorite, for his alternate mode anyway.
I had them and I had Devastator as a child. Seacons were my favorite, and the third-party set looks fantastic. The fact that there will be a new updated official set means I need to save my money and follow for when they are released.
My first Transformers!!! The box set that started my collection at 6yrs old had only five robots, as Nautilator wasn’t included at all. Snaptrap became the “Megatron” of my evil toys to fight against Powermaster Optimus Prime since my parents never saw a Megatron figure in stores. Our young pit bull had chewed up Scalor & practically ate Seawing, teaching me to clean up my room so my dog didn’t mistake her toys for mine. When I heard of the Collectors’ Club in college that was reissuing them with a “lost” sixth member that was all new to me, I jumped at the opportunity to have the complete team for the first time!!!
Always liked this combiner team. A shame the G1 cartoon ended before they could make their debut, but at least Simon Furman put them to great use in the UK Comic. Their fight against Galvatron in ‘Enemy Action’ and the ‘Dreadwing Down!’ story were excellent tales.
It’s weird, the more I think about what Chris said at the end, the more I agree: you never forget your first combiner team. Whatever your previous favorite combiner was, more than likely it will be replaced with whoever you collected. I got into Transformers around 2015, when Combiner Wars was just starting. My first favorite combiner was Devastator, because why not? I loved construction vehicles, I liked the robots he combined into, and he was the main combiner I actually knew. But after I purchased a last Off and decided to collect the Combaticons, they were instantly my new favorites (which I mainly got the team because I remembered Swindle from TFA). Sure, I’m still a Devastator fan, and by some miracle I actually got the Combiner Wars Devastator for my birthday (I don’t know *HOW* I pulled that off), but Bruticus is now #1 in my book, and all because he was my first combiner. As for these Seacons, as niece as they sound, I think it’s an interesting concept. Their G1 color schemes definitely look cool, and their combined form gives me serious Predaking or Liokaiser vibes.
Awesome video as always. As a kid in the 80s and now as a kidult- The Seacons along with the Terrorcons were always my top 2 combiner teams. Love the original toys/designs and even the Kabaya kit from a few years ago, kicks ass. Can't wait for the modern toy iterations of these guys coming soon.
I love the Seacons as well. Had a couple of them as a kid. As an adult collector I have bought them just because I think they look so awesome in combine mode. Seawing, Snaptrap and Nautilator bring back so many great memories. Thanks for sharing. Roy
The Seacons reimagined as Pokemon! Snaptrap- Blastoise Nautilator- Crawdaunt Overbite- Sharpedo Seawing- Mantine Skalor- Relicanth Tentakil- Malamar (or Tentacruel if we wanna keep them all Water-types).

Scylla who transforms into a Octopus Squid mixed with a Cuttlefish. Coelagon who transforms into a Coelacanth with fins like a Mudskipper. Jawbreaker who transforms into a Sharkticon that resembles a Houndshark. Seawing who transforms into a Manta Ray that has claws. Nautilator whop transforms into a Lobster.

Snaptrap in 88 was my favorite toy. I did not even know the character as it never appeared in the cartoons, but the toy itself was the best. My mother bought it with the four smaller Stunticons. As mentioned, they were actually compatible. So I never actually saw Predaking with Seacon limbs.
I only had Snaptrap as a kid, I bought (most of) him at a charity shop. I didn't realise he was part of a combiner until I read the GIJoe vs. Transformers comic years later and saw him and the rest of the team there.

Tentakill looks like an old AIP movie monster.
Personally I like the idea of Scilla over Tentakill (maybe withouth the love triangle). I find TF to have one of the more diverse female cast of all franchises and having her being the new default Seacon would be really interesting.
Great episode! They were the last G1 combiner team I built. I love these dudes!
Seawing? Hmm… *Le gasp* so that’s where Tui got the idea!
@With Love from Nevada honestly, I’m not sure why I commented that. But Tui T. Sutherland is the author of a book series called “Wings of Fire”.
Skalor reminds me of Rippersnapper
Never knew they had a history that deep. Thx!
