Living in Southern California we used to go to "TJ" all the time, before things got rough. The artisan goods were wonderful, just like the people and the food. I'm so happy to see that it's coming back; it's an important and vibrant city for MANY people.
Welcome to Tijuana. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. My family have been living here for almost a year now and absolutely love Centro. We are about a 20 minute bus ride from there and go as often as we can. Thanks for coming to Tijuana and helping others see that it isn't as bad as the media portrays 😊
Tijuana looks awesome, is a complete intercultural border city. Is a place where homeland start and could be the last frontier for someone else. Thanks for this video. Good work amigos ! 😎
Ave. Revolucion has changed alot in the last 25 years. It used to be a 4 lane street with crazy traffic. Now, they have extended the sidewalk and the street is only 2 lanes. There's probably half as many bars/night clubs as there was. It definitely seems more family friendly than it used to be. As for the "underground" shops, I think you are mostly right about them selling mainly tourist trinkets back then.
So glad you guys visited Tijuana, good people there. Any chance you got to go to Puerto Nuevo for their famous whole lobsters? Puerto Nuevo is halfway between Tijuana and Ensenada, along that beautiful coast
It’s not lobster season yet. I live in Ensenada and have been anxiously waiting for the lobsters to come in. But fresh local lobsters are only available from 1 October through the end of February each year. The Mexican government limits the season in an attempt to limit over catching the crustaceans.
Puerto Nuevo's reputation for having delicious, cheap lobster has fallen tremendously in the past 15 years. The food and service is now mediocre and the prices have skyrocketed. They cater strictly to a gringo crowd and they demand gringo prices.
Not as beautiful as other AMAZING places en Mexico but not as bad as the media depicts Tijuana. Seems like the perfect place to have a fun quick trip to Mexico when you're on a budget. And only have the weekend to spare for some fun.
Tijuana is a really cool place! It brings back nice memories. Visiting Tijuana, eating lobster or seafood at Puerto Nuevo and having great wine at the Valle de Guadalupe wineries is one of a kind experience; although it may require a few days to do this. There are so many things to do and visit in this area of Baja California Norte. Thank you both Greg & Hillary for this interesting video.
Hola amiguis!! Hope you get a chance to check out the swap meet at siglo xxi (21). It really is a impressive spot that many don't venture to see and is a locals spot for all things swap meet and then some . Great seeing you guys are still at it.
😀 Esperamos su visita de nuevo. Fue un excelente vídeo y esperamos que sigan incitando la cultura de Tijuana y de todos sus alrededores. Saludos a todos los griegos. 😅🤗
TJ has really changed since I was there in 1988. Back then there were no walking tours. It was grungy and rough and gringos knew you could be arrested for anything. Cops shook you down for minor infractions (like give me all the money you have in your pocket for littering). It looks so nice now.
Tijuana had a lot of clubs in revolution street in 90s americans came to party every week end ..aprox. 800 to 1200 americans on a saturday nigth.and party untill 6:00 am ....but on spring brake the streets where full Around 10 to 15 k americans where visting Tijuana n rosarito on spring brake ..it was crazy!!... Late 90s war betwen drug cartels started so no more visitors no more clubs the music stop ....its being slowly getig back again but the war is not over jet . .but TJ still cool
Well it took you guys long enough to make it to Tijuana. You guys seem to be following my life. I was born in Queretaro, was raised in Guanajuato (you guys walked by my house) and Tijuana and now I live in the US. You are stalking me i think 😎😎😉
Next time in Tijuana go to a Xolos de Tijuana soccer Game. Also next time you go Ciudad Juárez you can also go to a soccer game there now that they Are on LIGAMX. Saludos
Jai Alai Palace! We used to always go and eat a nice seafood dinner at La Costa (went out of business eons ago) and then go to watch and bet on Jai Alai... They used to come to your seat to take the bets and serve your (strong) drinks!
I just realized something. You guys are now able to have a full blown conversations in Spanish when you are in Gringolandia and don't want to be understood😂😂😂😎😎😎 ( AWESOME).
I'm glad you guys got someone to show you around. We were followed once, it was scary. That was a one time deal, went back a few more times after that. Saludos!!!💚
Ah so this is where my Güeros hipsters were headed towards in the conbi?!! Yes Tijuana is a COOL place, the ambience, the people, the places,....LOL, playing Bingo in a local bar?!! Only in Tijuana! XD
You would see Navy sailors partying back in the 1990s on La Revolución. Then they were told not to go to TJ. They now go to the Gaslamp in downtown San Diego. La Revolución was the party spot back in the day.
The pasillo de Revolucion used to be the place to get all your crazy kitchy things like black velvet paintings and clown art. I stopped going to revolucion in 2008 with the drug wars. I will have to check it out again.
I really enjoy your videos! Even as a mexican i learn a lot from your videos and you really show a great side of mexico! If you’re ever in Mty again, let me know.

Hey guys how's going and how was your Combi ride 🤔🤔🤔 would you do it again ?
