Another thing about awareness of Mandalorians vs Jedi is that even before the Jedi were eradicated, the Mandalorians had massive wars against the Jedi/Republic and by extent the Galaxy at large (referenced in The Mandalorian as well as Clone Wars and Rebels). I would say that this makes the Mandalorians kind of like the Mongols or the Hellenistic empire of Alexander, a culture that at one time was in control of/warring with a massive part of the “world” (galaxy) and whose customs thus became more widespread.
Old mandalorians were mostly like spartans. Check the story of Revan vs Mandalore the Ultimate.
Eslamic lands not the Mongols the Mongols didn't last long
These people need to have a channel solely doing this
They sort of do
They could even call it something like...
Star Trek Explained.
They do it’s in the link
They do this for a living on Star Wars Explained
They do its called star wars explained
Jedi rarely operated in the outer rim, while Mandalorians were mercenries there (not accepted in inner republic). And our Mando walks in mercenery bounty hunter circles, so more people would would recognize him as Mandalorain since they often see mercenaries.
Congrats, Alex and Molly!
I kept thinking my stove was beeping until I found out it was the video.😂

also, there were some mandos who joined with the Empire, they were advertised as elite soldiers of the empire
so people knew who they were even if they never saw one irl
what palpatine was doing in the recent movies was a sith technique called suppress thought which essentially means he was putting his thoughts into others minds changing their behaviors basically controlling them
They need a podcast
They have a RUclips channel.

The Lady Of The Lake.
It's you. It's me. It's us.
To go with your Snoke theory. To keep the narrative that Luke damaged him it does make sense that Palpatine would keep Snoke damaged. I'll make a new theory ( since I'm disappointed by the sequel trilogy and misuse of Snoke). Snoke is a clone of what Palpatine remembers his master looking like. And yes I know what they try to say he looked like in legends I flipped it.
If Yoda died at 900 years old, looking something like 90 human years old, that means Grogu should look around 5 human years old, but he acts like a baby.
Maybe he's not very bright? 😂
What if snokes and his clones being messed up wasn't just on purpose by Palpatine but because they were created or imbued with dark side powers causing the flesh manipulation
I love Star Wars Explained. Mollie is awesome she should do more on the channel. Its a shame you guys and Star Wars Theory have beef a colab would be so good
SWT is too toxic for Explained
I always thought it was Yoda’s connection to The Force that was how he was able to live for 900 years. I didn’t think it had anything to do with his species’ biology.
Yup always had been that way lol
Hard to say really, given that *all* members of his species we've seen have been Force sensitive.
Alex and Mollie are icons!!!
I believe Disney+ put the CW episodes in chronological order, no?
Nope it’s on release order on Disney+. Wish they would have a second option for chronological order like they do for the MCU movies, but nope still gotta jump around.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t purge troopers clones in cannon ? and if they are weren’t they still around in the original trilogy?
They originally were, but most of them died out

_Star Wars Explained_ is EASILY one of the least click-baity and most grounded Star Wars RUclips channels out there.
They’re refreshingly positive about Star Wars, and they’re also openly honest when something doesn’t quite land with them. Amazingly, if the latter ever strikes true, they don’t spend the next 5 years reminding you that so-and-so ruined their childhood while chasing wild rumors and stirring up discord.
Quality content. 80% informational, 20% opinion and fandom engagement.
If you want to keep up with the current Canon and understand it’s connections to Legends _(pre-Disney era Star Wars expanded universe)_ Star Wars Explained continues to be a great resource for those who prefer to find the light and joy while celebrating the cheese that is Star Wars.
Yeah but Disney DID ruin everything
100% agreed
Right on. Why they’re one of my favorites.
I'd really recommend The Stupendouswave as well they do alot of lore both legends and cannon
@@TheHeroRobertELee That's just like, your opinion, man.

I know im randomly asking but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any tips you can give me
I love it when Star Wars just doesn't make sense, like with the Force ghost thing, but Star Wars fans can come up with an explanation that sounds plausible. As a fan that does this all the time, I respect it lol
Watch season 6 of clones wars
Just pointing out that Qui-Gon (who found out about becoming one with the Force) also did not disappear. His body was cremated.
yes but he didn’t finish all the training needed to appear as a force ghost. season 6 of the clone wars goes in more detail on it
@FlickTalk it isn't, qui gon couldn't complete his training fully so he wasn't able to fully become a force ghost and instead was sort of just a disembodied voice
@FlickTalk You clearly have no idea how the star wars universe works. LEt me explain Jedi have to prove themselves worth in order to become a force ghost otherwise they pass into the force like everyone else this is usually accomplished by doing a certain set of trails/training qui gon didn't fully complete this so he wasn't fully able to become a force ghost
@FlickTalk you don’t have to put it down. It’s just a fantasy world. Appreciate it for what it is!
@@Montythedog123 I hate this "explanation". Every fantasy world should have its own internal consistency. The biggest problem with Star Wars lore is that none of the trilogies are consistent with each other.
My sister is not a space nerd to the point where I had to explain to her who characters like Boba Fett and Darth Vader were and she enjoyed The Mandalorian. Baby Yoda is cute and they kept the stories pretty simple and self contained. You don't need to know anything about the greater Star Wars universe to really understand what's happening on the series. At the end of the day it's about a space-knight bounty hunter and his adopted green baby son.
Also the rule of two seemed to only apply to official apprentices. Sith “assassins” seemed to be allowed as well as whatever the Inquisitors were ( they were dark side users who were trained to use light sabers and knew enough to bleed them red but were not trained in the deepest secrets of the Sith it would seem)
Yeah they were just dark side users, not sith
Correct. “Rule of Two” only applied to Sith Lords. I.E Anyone with Darth in their name.
Always great to see alex and Molly!
My question would have been: Is ANYONE as annoyed as me at the lack of logic and internal consistency of ranks and rank insignia within (most egregiously, but not only) the Empire? Like the rank plates for the Imperial Navy, Army, ISB, and political Moffs is random and not consistent at all for what is supposed to be a very structured military system. I'm not one that usually likes changes via CG to the original films, but one thing that I would be okay with and also seems like a pretty minor fix would be editing the rank plates so that they make sense...
I think some changes were already made to imperial ranking insignias but still could be done better

Well here is wired in a nutshell... Fun though serious, Timepass though somehow time well spent.... and a complete package of just feeling like ur there.... (engaging)....
I know it's an off-hand comment, but it wouldn't be surprising if palpatine made snoke's body all crooked and garbage on purpose, considering he intentionally made Darth Vader's suit completely trash as a means of controlling and continuously antagonizing him.
I like the idea, except Palpatine did that to punish Vader for failing to defeat Kenobi
i've heard Snoke was that way cuz he had some disease that made his body decay
This people study the lore of starwars and have been waiting for this moment.
They have a RUclips channel: Star Wars Explained that has been going for years.
hey, it's these people. I LIKE THESE PEOPLE
Mollie has sooooo many star wars shirts and this is the one day she forgot one
Regarding Luke going to the Academy, I remember reading that a lot of Rebel pilots would get their education in the Imperial Academy and then defect, at least in the early days.
I assume traitors would be executed if caught.

Alex and Molly are great!! Follow their channel Star Wars explained!!
According to The Star Wars Book, Snoke was a strandcast (artificial genetic strandcast) who possessed free will. Nevertheless, his actions and objectives were orchestrated by Darth Sidious.
Did the Star Wars Book also talk about how many transformations and rewrites RoS took?
@@AdamReveland Only one set of reshoots, actually.
Sidious probably said Execute Order 66 to Snoke before he left Exegol.
This duo really knows their stuff. If they don't have a youtube channel, they definitely need to start one.

Love Alex and Mollie!
The Mandalorian definitely takes place well after the Battle of Jakku, during the 2nd season one of the characters makes reference to a series of events that culminate at Jakku and he does so as though it happened quite a while ago.
This legit feels like one of their Q&As on their channel
I would argue that the reason for everyone knowing a mandalorian is mostly due to them being warmongers and what not.
Omg Alex and mollie I love them!!!!
15:55 - I think we're going to see Obi-Wan go through the training with Qui-Gon in the new series (just a guess, no insider knowledge). But Qui-Gon has SOME of the training, but his body didn't disappear, either. He had the pyre like Anakin/Vader. Rey didn't disappear because I don't think she ever actually died, did she? She was on the verge of death but Ben pulled her back.
This is about Palpatine trying to hide the existence of Jedi. He didn’t really do a good job of hiding their existence. While many people didn’t know about them, most people did. However, the idea of the force faded out. Nobody really doubted the force when the Jedi were prevalent. In episode 4, however, many people didn’t believe it existed or never even heard about it at all.
Aye star wars explained making it big. Well deserved
I absolutely with Mollie.
Mara Jade.
The canon needs more dark to light conversions.
Mara Jade isn't cannon according to Disney.
The more stories are told the more and more A possible door for her to enter gets narrow. I miss her in the canon so much. She’s as old as Thrawn, yet he gets in and she doesn’t?
@@AdamReveland they said legends
@@kplayzxp2376 and Legends isn't cannon. Good luck with Kathleen Kennedy bringing back Luke's wife.
Another fight where the "good rebel guys" won because they had a motif against the "evil technologically powerful" was The Battle of Stirling Bridge of the Scots vs the English, depicted in Braveheart :D
Twitter Question: Favorite Legends Character?
Mollie: We need more awesome female jedi!
*Rey begins to enter the room*
Mollie: Mara Jade is pretty cool. XD
How about the 501? They were clones who joined the empire as vader's fist
They said in the video that the clones were phased out. It wasn't an immediate switch, but a gradual replacement as clones got too old to continue as soldiers
thats not canon anymore i think
Star Wars Explained is dope. Star Wars Channels be hating on this man.
What I didn't know I needed today
One thing I never see mentioned is that Ben fights Vader to a standstill until he knows Luke is watching.
Luke's first encounter with Vader is seeing him kill Ben.
Ben set that moment up, foreshadowing it with the comment about becoming more powerful than Vader could possibly imagine. The ultimate troll moment in Star Wars goes to old Ben.
I love how they explained the lore of there are only two sith at a time and the way they tackled the question was brilliant in a way.
You could probably compare the Jedi getting pushed into the unkown, to Spartacus in our own history... Roman Historians did everything to make sure Spartacus was forgotten. That's why there's so little knowledge about him
In regards to the Jedi Pyre, I think it just depends on the Jedi and who is in attendence. In Queens Peril it is stated clearly that Padmé, her Handmaidens, Obi, and Anakin stayed until Qui-Gon became ash as a sign of respect and thanks for everything he did for them.
Ben did have training to become a force ghost, it's set up at the end of episode 3
I think they meant Ben Solo
@@Majupm that makes more sense!
Tell me why when I heard him say Ben I thought Ben Kenobi first lmao 💀
This is effortless... Like true experts.
I remember I read somewhere that for Vader. Obi wan came to him in his last seconds through the force and pulled him into the living force like he and yoda and partly quigon was in.
It could be that leia and Luke did the same for Ben.

If Yoda taught Jedi for 800 years, and Grogu is 50 and basically a toddler, wouldn't Yoda have to be much older than 900? I can't see Grogu teaching Jedi in another 50 years.
It's pretty fuckin cool that Star Wars Explained are considered experts enough for The Wire to make an Experts Answer video with them!
I love this kind of videos. Please keep on doing them.
I think that, in some cases, some people actually prefer Star Trek over Star Wars, okay......
Movie fans! Try my guess who game featuring movie characters of the 2010s. "You Who Guess Who Game 2010s Movie Characters"
I mean people might be subject to propaganda, but the jedi were leading the army in a massive war within the lifetime of most adults during the mandolorian. Even if they thought they were traitors the memories of like news reals, most people would have seen. Not knowing who Yoda was in the 20s ABY, is like not knowing who Patton was in the 70s.
I'd compare the Jedi's effect on the galaxy to the Quakers in America. they fought hard against slavery but the average person knows very little. Imagine how much less we would know if they were destroyed and their history hidden
Loving that um actually shirt Alex
Jaxxon is the best legends character. That's not opinion that's an indisputable fact. Plif the Hoojib is the only other character that comes close.
Disney and SJW with there PC BS, ruined Star Wars! The force is not with luke anymore
Love seeing the Damons on here 🤗
I have a Star Wars Question: if I have an idea about a potential upcoming show or movie, where do I send it to?
"Experts"?
Ha-ha-ha-ha... NOPE.
Beginner question. Do I watch the movies by order of episode number or release order?
I thought you said : " Mary Jane" , so I got my Star Wars bong 🤣🤣🤣
Is Mando Baby Yoda's adoptive Father?
Will there be a Star Trek experts?!
Why did Ben die when using the force heal power to save Rey, but Rey can force heal anybody or even any creature without suffering any negative consequences at all?!
Most likely because he was closer to death than anything else, there was lots of smaller healing in the clone wars. And it’s not even close to the degeneracy in legends, as there was this guy who could resurrect anyone with no cost to him, and his nemesis learned this power and could resurrect himself when he was already dead
the vietcong weren’t the good guys but okay
I'm still waiting for a logical answer behind why Yoda and Obi-Wan didn't recognize R2 in the original trilogy.
R2 units were a dime a dozen to Obi-Wan, too Kenobi if you’ve seen one R2 unit you’ve seen em all. As for Yoda, the only real time he spent with R2 was on his Force Spirit journey and even then he never truly got to know the astromech.
How do we know they didn't?
@@Quirderph This
15:55 in the theatrical release of rotj, i’m pretty sure ani wasn’t a force ghost, and was later put in because it gave a sense of a change in character, as if he’s been brought back to the light, and i’m pretty sure when in exile, ben (obi wan) trained for this skill, as he reached another level with the force and unlocked his peace of mind
The theatrical release had a new actor play the imagined Anakin as a force ghost. After episode 3 it was changed to be Hayden's Anakin
