    Paul these Muncie assembly videos are absolutely over the top. They are so well done. Your attention to detail is amazing and inspiring. I work primarily on automatics. I really do not do a lot with manuals so yes, I am learning a lot. My mentor always taught me that the devil is in the details. If you don't pay attention to the details they can bite you in the end. I have both of your books and I love them. When I am just kicking back I like to grab one of them and just start reading. I think I have watched the tare down video on the Doug Nash overdrive probably a dozen times. I would love to see a re-assembly video on that some day. Maybe in the future? Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this craft. It is so rare.

    Excellent tips, Paul. I once had a new T5 5th gear that would not grab the synchro ring; it would grind. You suggested to me to scuff the cone. I disassembled, scuffed the cone, and reassembled, and then it was perfect. I thank you again for that advice that I haven't forgotten.

    Hello Paul, I have been searching for information about the "Muncie" Doug Nash 4 + 3 that is in my 1986 pace car. Then I found you and then your videos "The Muncie Tapes". Thank you so much. If I can figure out some way to remove my transmission at home I just might put be able to use all of your valuable information. I have most of the tools and I would rather do the job myself. Like everyone else, I have plenty of time on my hands.

    Well I guess this is a real and a great knowledge transfer. We should be grateful about what you're doing there. It's some techniques but more than this it's your own experience, gathered for years...
    I've seen part 1 now 2 and looking forward to seeing part 3. What I'm concerned about is that some of the parts you're dealing with in the video seem to be out of stock in your web site. Will it be permanently or will get some stock in soon ? Anyhow, i wish I was in the US to give you my M20 to rebuilt !
    You're the guy Paul, you're the guy !
    Thank for all this pedagogic work.

      Parts come and go. The Covid thing has created slow downs and some complete stops in industrial work places. You should be aware of this by now. Parts are starting to come in. My suggestion is that you use the Notify Me button on anything you are looking for. I don't list items I discontinue. It's amazing because I've been on Amazon and NewEgg and there are many items that are not in stock yet I'm not concerned and you shouldn't be either. Again, if it is something I am not going to carry or discontinue it is gone from my site. We have seen 60 to 90 day lead times on new parts orders. It's a global issue which I hope you are also aware of.

Thanks for making them😁. May i ask ,does transmission fluid need to be changed every 30,000 miles or 2 years like the haynes manual says?

    Great video Paul. Is grinding the oil groove making the gear weak? The hardening treatment is only .030

    • @GearBoxVideo
      @GearBoxVideo  4 года назад

      No not at all . Think it thru. Where is the load and what would you think could possibly happen? Doing it for 40 years and if anything if you decide not to, then why deal with seized gears on shafts?

    Thanks for the videos! Can hardly wait for part 3! Just ordered a bunch of stuff yesterday. Quick question; I picked up some Permatex 51813 as recommended in a different video. The package says to use a Surface Prep activator before using. Is this really necessary?

    Is it possible to replace the input shaft bearing without a complete disassembly? Also if the input shaft is wobbly is it most like the input bearing or something else?
