I took accounting in high school and it really is the most complete profession out of anything to do with business. Accounting IS the heart , center of everything in the business world. An accountant can quiet cover different areas like finances, marketing, economics, logistics, administration etc but not the other way around. None of those branches can just do accounting while an accountant can easily step into their worlds. Not studying this but it's badass anyway.
+queenlandings B. Accounting has very little in common with economics. No way in hell can an accountant "easily step into their worlds." Not even close. Your statement is only slightly less ludicrous with respect to the other areas listed.
+Daniel Mladen at my university, accountants have to take 4 economics classes, while economics students only have to take 1 accounting class. And plus econ is based on educated guesses basically...accounting has strict ever-changing rules.
My point is that they are very different fields and that studying accounting alone will not grant you any substantial understanding of economics. As you say, accounting students at your university are required to take four economics classes - ie, because studying accounting subjects alone will not suffice for developing an understanding of economics.
+queenlandings B. If you have never taken an linear algebra course or anything beyond business calculus I can safely state you don't understand anything about econ.
Guys, I wouldn't get too discouraged with the hours. Most, almost all, of these accountants that were interviewed are at the pinnacle of their careers. We saw a CFO, accounting coordinator/teacher, founder of an accounting firm.... Of course these people are going to be working crazy hours. Once you reach the top of the ranks doesn't always mean you can sit back and relax; just means more responsibility. This concept also applies to other careers. Think about it 😉
Correct. I am an accountant, and I don't work a lot of overtime. The hours you work depend on the the job you accept. Early in your career, you may need to work overtime during month-end close. Managers and directors may work more than 40 hours a week, but it still depends.
Teeahtate, im interested in accounting. i don't know much yet but i spoke to my accountant yesterday while he did my tax & he said u don't have to do the cpa to be an accountant. is that true? and he also told me he never works more than 8hrs and its not a stressful job. ive been watching yt videos & they all say the opposite. can u tell me more about how it goes
Xray I'm 20, and will have a business degree majoring in fiance and accounting by the time I'm 23. Unfortunately I can't take either of those as pure degrees though.

You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Absolutely this! I work my ass off physically and have most of my working career and currently majoring in accounting, I don't mind not only being able to sit with AC, but also putting my brain to use, 60 hours a week is childs play.
I'm tired of reading these comments about peole saying oh I cant handle the long hours or work load. Everybody wants the easy way but guess what guys the richest people in the world have dedicated years of their lives to be who they are now. They made sacrifices for the better. Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard but became, at one point, the wealthiest man in the world. You can't expect to sweat without raising your heartbeat. Stop the crying and get to work. Stop letting the negative sides of things change the positives. Find your motivation and use it as weapon to keep success hostage and become the best you could be.
Not everybody wants to be the richest or want to be millionaires. I personally want a normal life with a stable income. What do you with all the billions???
Cheers for the Video! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you tried - Schallingora Internet Commerce Scheme (do a search on google)? It is a good exclusive product for getting extra money working at home minus the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 finally got astronomical results with it.
Sean same here. I am currently an education and Psychology major and I was a little hesitant cause of the "teachers pay" but after looking at this I have decided not to make a change. 60 hours a week would make 12 hours a day. for ex if they would start their work at 9am, their day would end at 9pm! when will they go home? when will they eat dinner? when will they be able to spend, not alot but a little bit of time with their family? money is most of the things but it is not everything in life.
I liked watching this video... I have actually been thinking about switching to Accounting recently from my Mechanical Engineering major solely because I realized that physics and chemistry, which are major components of the major, I just do not like much or understand, or ever want to understand to be honest.... This video basically pushed me more towards accounting as I have been thinking of (FYI: accounting was always the OTHER major I was interested in).
U won't need all those classes when u actually get an engineering job, schools just make u take them to test your skills and make you more well rounded
thank you for the video. very helpful. I would only say the music was distracting from the interviews. for a second there, I thought it was a music video
I'm currently in an accounting class in high school and am thinking about going to college for this type of career but I'm not so sure anymore 70 hour work weeks is not the type of life I want to live. I'm not afraid to put in the hard work but if working 70 hour work weeks is a pretty normal I'll have I reevaluate this.
Tony Martienz Don't work in public accounting or get yourself promoted within an industry then. Aim for government accounting. The pay is lower, but the benefits are decent and the hours are good.
how much leisure time do accountants have? thats my big question. yeah you get pay alot but if you have to work a lot at home too when your off work. theres really no life if all you do is work.
Dang people. I rarely know anyone that works only 40 hours a week. These days people’s re busting their butt off. There’s no such thing as easy. If you want a 40 hours a week job go to McDonald. A career requires many hours.
Bryce Saylor I worked in customer service for 8 years and got lay off. I am glad they did because now I am thinking to go back to school and get a degree to have better work!
I want to be an accountant but am 35yo already.;( too late for me plus English is not my first language so there are a lot of things for me need to catch up. I wish I were 20s
I made a calculation in my head. if they work 60 hours a week. that would make 12 hours a day. so let's say if someone starts work at 9am, their work would end at 9pm! No, no and no. money is not worth more than happiness and work/ life balance. I guess I will stick to the educational field abd perhaps transition to ot or speech therapy in the future cause they definetly have a work life balance and make a direct impact on people. I would especially want to work with young kids since I am interested in working with special needs kids. this profession really doesn't make a difference in some individual's life! NO to this!

Andrea Reino was my Accounting 3 instructor before she left FAU. Great teacher. Loved the video.
I was thinking about being an Accountant until I saw this.... this scared the shit out of me.
Lol :( I haven't even watched the whole video yet, now I'm scared just to finish watching it haha hopefully I have a different point of view though :(
+Carley August hi how are you do you have knowledge about accounting
Huh?
Why? What scared you?
NoMansLandProduction then see an ice cream bro
great Info - but a suggestion - to reduce the Volume of the background music and no vocal music. thanks
Everybody complaining about how they're distracted by the intro music and I'm just here distracted by Ms. Reino's beauty .....
Great video! As soon as I started accounting I just loved it and it makes sense to me and I'm going to community college I'm excited to move forward
XoBeautyByTori how's it going now ?
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
Playing loud music during the whole video.. what a great idea...
Thank you, I am currently working at a bank and looking to make a change. This video was very influential.
13:30 his voice changed! what a great actor
Cool video. I was mostly worried about not being smart enough but I think I will like accounting. I enjoy working with maths and excel.
i love accounting too so you did that comment 3 year ago i think you might have become a accountant now.....
I work 60 hrs hard labor
I don't mind sitting my ass down for 60 hours crunching numbers

2immutablethings that is so true lolol
There are subtitles in the video. Hopefully it helps.
This is an extremely useful video. Thank you so much.
I was thinking about a career in accounting but I can't imagine doing that 60-70 hours a week yearround.

LOVED THE VIDEO!. I am 15 years old and i this video clip had an big impact towards my life.
I'm currently in an accounting class in high school and am thinking about going to college for this type of career but I'm not so sure anymore 70 hour work weeks is not the type of life I want to live. Tony Martienz Don't work in public accounting or get yourself promoted within an industry then. Aim for government accounting. The pay is lower, but the benefits are decent and the hours are good.
+Sebastian Da Silva lol. you need time to drive to work and from work. So in a a big country like the US at least 2 hrs for transport.
Sebastian Da Silva actually less due to commuting
i think i would have enjoyed the video better without the background music. jeez
!!ACCOUNTING IS THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE!! !!WHEN I WRESTLE I BRING ERNST AND YOUNG ALONG TO TALLY MIDGETS THROWN FROM THE RING!!
Indeed, accounting is the language of business. However, it should be noted that the hours can be long.
No joke the controller instantly reminded me of a more mellow Seril from Archer haha
I don't want to be an accountant, but I still found this a very interesting video. Thanks! :)
this really change my mind am 15 years old and this is what am ganna do thank u
That was really useful! You guys should make some for other professions as well
I can hear clearly. And i feel video is pretty good.
Very informative, thanks for the helpful video
Cool vid! I attended both FAU and PBSC (PBCC!).
Thinking about majoring in accounting, but not sure if I would like to work 60+ hour weeks.....
But if you can support yourself and your family, this profession is worth the time and money.
Thank you for such an informative video, guys!
Nice video thanks for the upload.
how much leisure time do accountants have? thats my big question. yeah you get pay alot but if you have to work a lot at home too when your off work. theres really no life if all you do is work.
50 hrs a week? for 61k on avg....pffft
try being a teacher. up to 90 hours a week if you are a good teacher for maybe only 31 k a year
well in the rest of the world unless youre a professor whos worked at the same university for 10+ years you don't.
Dang people. I rarely know anyone that works only 40 hours a week. These days people’s re busting their butt off. There’s no such thing as easy. If you want a 40 hours a week job go to McDonald. A career requires many hours.

true....highly agree
Bryce Saylor I worked in customer service for 8 years and got lay off. I am glad they did because now I am thinking to go back to school and get a degree to have better work!
This is great video for accountant service
@richard thompson its never too late to start.

Thx for the vid I needed it for a google slide i am making about accountants!
I want to be an accountant but am 35yo already.;( too late for me plus English is not my first language so there are a lot of things for me need to catch up. I wish I were 20s
hmm i enjoy my accounting class so far but i think i'll pass on pursuing a career
The background music sounds like I left a separate tab open of a guy badly covering a bad song/a South Park song parody
Very nice video - Top!
Accounting is great.
On call 24/7/365...great career!...loll......don't think I would love my job that much!
Well that guy was the CFO, he is more than likely making 6 figures, I wouldn't mind lol
This helped me sooo much! Thank you!
This is a very informative video but It is very hard to hear the accounting professionals over the blaring background music.
I made a calculation in my head. if they work 60 hours a week. that would make 12 hours a day. so let's say if someone starts work at 9am, their work would end at 9pm! Jeez man, don't put Kermit the Frog band on in the background while doing an interview.

Did anyone else fall in love with the middle eastern girl in the video? She beautiful.

***** Did you look up the salary numbers?
Jordan Huus than what do you suggest people should study?
Jagged Wings I encourage a field that participates in fulfilling mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, IPO underwritings, etc. So perhaps investment banking, venture capital, and private equity fields are looking for finance majors, banking majors, engineering majors with a focus on finance, economics majors, managerial finance and accounting majors. If you get an accounting major, it would be misguided not to get a CPA and become a professional accountant, limiting you to only the field of accounting.
Thanks!
Could I ask you why you feel that way about this profession ?
great vid guys.
I mean...60 hrs doesn't sound too bad if you do the math.
😂
Engineering or accountant earn more?
Both jobs are repetitive work to be honest
Engineering earn about 2.5millions on average even gd gpa, not so much opportunity, stable life maybe
How about accountants? Big4
Use UBC3.0 engineering vsUBC3.0accounting to compare life time earning, if both do okay in workplace
Cool video
is bachelor s degree is enough to get a job or need to complete MBA
"study over the summer then pass the CPA exams to start a career in the fall"
Only 3 months to pass all exams. haha
Where is this?
You are going to learn the same information no matter which school you go to. What matter is the network. Some schools provide you with better network and some don't. Go to a school where a lot of CEO, CFO, and partners went.
The connection is important. That is why people choose ivy league colleges.
This video makes it seem as if accountants have very few to no advantages in terms of potentially retiring early. This is not true, accounting is a job that tends to be easier in terms of maintaining and growing your MSI's, which arguably are your most practical way to achieve early retirement.
Andrea is damn damn beautiful.. i would live one more life to love her.. Love u dear
Does it take having a 4 year degree to work in Accounting??
I have fallen in Love with that girl.
you don't see any youg accountants do u??

I hate the music background makes the voice unclear
Quien me puede ayudar con la traducción del vídeo en español thanks you
i am 28, is it too late to start.
no, 50 is too late you are young.
Accounting is not even a long career (4 years top and even 3 if full time) so if you really want why not?
How they could has been bearin this

I drive truck and make 67,000 it took ten weeks
+Cole Lamers Do you mean 10 weeks of training?
No
I ment a 10 week training and 67,000 a year
stan brewer Sounds about right, I use to drive trucks for a living and made 4,200 a month. Only problem I had was that I was never home.
I helps a lot, but not necessary.
In the future, please lower background music on your videos. It is very distracting and drowns out what the speakers are saying, Not a professional presentation.
