I heard Clarinet is the hardest Woodwind instrument to play. (Saxophone being the easiest.) people just look and say “ohHH Sax looks hArD! Imma pIcK tRumpet becAuSE iT oNlY hAs tHrEE nOtES!!!!” Wrong
I was kind of interested in learning to play the trumpet but was on the fence until someone told me that girls don't play the trumpet. So I was like "fuck you!" and picked the trumpet. I basically started it because of spite and then I was the only female trumpet player in my school til college. Absolutely no regrets! It was the instrument for me. 100%. I love playing the trumpet so much. It's the best.🎺
I started playing because my sister quit and she gave me her cornet. I got back into it now that my daughter is in band and she started learning on the same cornet!
not gonna lie I can hit a double c perrrtyy easily I have really good range but nothing hurts worse then going form last period band to an after school rehearsal especially if your 1st or 2nd chair soo you end up leaving with the ring of hell on your face yuppp
I was going to play baritone, but my music teacher asked if I would do trumpet, so glad I said yes to him because its really fun, I'm also at the point where I'm able to play double G's which is also really fun and cool
i started playing trumpet because my middle school band when practicing sounded nice and amazing and i thought band would be fun, and i ask the teacher and showed me how to play the instrument i wanted the trumpet one day i'll make a video about this
I played trumpet because I registered in my school like 3 weeks late and wanted to do band. They automatically assigned me to Trumpet. I've been playing for many years now and i'm pretty good at it. I'm in the WS at my Highschool this year and i'm proud they chose it for me.
i'm in my middle school band and I started playing when I was 11 I'm 13 now and I really enjoy trumpet. I want to get better because I know I can play better.
It was about six years ago that I started playing the trumpet, and I have never stopped since because it was fun. But I haven't necessarily gambled before, and neither do I have more than one mouthpiece (that mouthpiece being a 3C)because my parents have never driven me to the music store to buy a second one. After my last marching band season, I gambled when played Bugler's Holiday, but I never actually performed the piece because of all the delays our show had (4.5 out of 7).
I started playing bc when I was in 5th grade I got the band sign up sheet and I remembered when I was 5 years old I asked for a trumpet and I got a plastic trumpet and I was addicted and I decided to play trumpet and I’ve done it for 3 years now!
I started playing trumpet because when the band came to my school when i was in 5th grade and i heard it i saw the trumpet and i immediately that that was what i wanted to play
Yessss!!! I have a locker full of trumpets and mouthpieces.. and i switch from 5b megatone and a 3c to a bob reeves.. about 15 moutbpieces and i got all 7🤣
Why I started playing? Because some songs just sound best played on a trumpet. My next instrument will be the bagpipes Favorite Player? Thomas Gansch from Schagerl
I just started eighth grade and started playing the trumpet in 6th grade. I love playing the trumpet. I also love playing high notes because I can easily play the highest out of the whole trumpet section. I can play above where my fingering chart goes😂it goes up to an F above the staff. I genuinely love the trumpet and I’m so glad I started playing because now I’m addicted
6 out of 7. Started playing in grade school as my second instrument because I wanted a lead instrument, I was able to get one from a friend and I wanted to play mariachi for my momma.
When people ask to play my trumpet I give them my extra (really old) mouth piece and they ask why I have two and im like i want more and they just stare at me like the uncultured rats that they are.
I started playing in 5th grade when the school forced everyone to play trumpet but after one class period (keep in mind I was in 5th grade) I found out I was the only one who could hit a high C in the school. Now I play for fun and play for a marching band.
found my dad's trumpet in a cupboard (he had painted it green at uni), he said "you'll never make a note" I did...rest is history, and a string of deaf reed players. I'd never play if it wasn't FUN
Funny story on how I started playing Trumpet ok so It was during the middle of band camp at my school and guess what from what I remember they didn’t even tell me which instrument I wanted to play mistakenly I said trumpet... Best mistake ever I have no regrets
I love playing really quick rhythms and high notes but....I switched to french horn and don't get that as much anymore..... No problem though I still play trumpet for jazz band, and not to brag, but I'm trumpet 1 so I have a pretty rad part. 😎
Pick up natural trumpet. Bang out some baroque tunes with organ or harpsichord. Embrace those F half-sharps and A 1/3 flats. And lip trills. More lip trills.
Lol #2 (the Mouthpiece one) fits me exactly because like 30 mins ago I bought 2 mouthpieces on wwbw, and one of them was a Yamaha 5A4 which is ridiculously small I got it just for fun lol
I know how to tell if people are trumpet players. Sign one: they have a trumpet Sign two: they know how to actually blow into the trumpet and make an alright sign
I felt attacked when you said you haven’t played a 3C in years lmao. My sophomore year of high school I discovered what lead mouthpieces were and completely destroyed my tone just to play double Gs in marching band, only to switch back to 3c my junior year of college
I see that you're a man of culture as well. I play lead in my community band but i'm using a 1.5C denis wick mp. It took a lot total rework and refinement of my basics like breathing, mp pressure, etc.. but the wholesome tone you get even on higher registers is more than worth the effort.
I sat on a straight 2 for like a decade. Then I added a couple new instruments to my collection and one of those was a baroque trumpet. Now I'm juggling 1's, 4B's, and a 1 1/2C like a circuit act.
LoUiS ArMsTrOnG As a trumpet who is in a jazz band- Who knows how Louis got his start to everything. Im sorry, but my favorite trumpet players are Winston Marsalis and Dizzy Gillespie
When you can only afford one trumpet mouth piece, has social anxiety, yet; plays the trumpet with a huge passion. My world seems to disappear I can only think of the music I’m making. Ha. Oh, also. I LOVE playing high notes, I even have TWO solos with high notes. XD
I got all of them with the exception of “the fun guy.” However, I don’t think that “quirky” and “fun” are complete opposite. I’d probably have 6.5/7 lol.
Hello Blaise saw your video. Say I have a really nice Yamaha gold trumpet my wife bought me and I only have two mouth pieces and don't understand why these guys have 10 to 20 of them...
Why did YOU start playing trumpet?! Comment down below!

Kid, you are so on the money. Every single one of these was completely true.
I started playing because my sister quit and she gave me her cornet. I got back into it now that my daughter is in band and she started learning on the same cornet!
I started because I was tired of just playing video games. Playing trumpet eventually led to me playing piano.
I noticed on the question about what mouthpiece I play, I’m not sure what a Yamaha 11b4 would be equivalent, so I guess 5c-7c
11b4 is basically a 7c with a larger rim
Balloon Head thank you good sir.
Stop and throw away your Yamaha
Agents League lol nah. It works for me
It’s basically a 7-C
I started playing because I wanted to play mello. I have now decided on trumpet. also I play low reeds, so I wanted to add brass

I was going to play baritone, but my music teacher asked if I would do trumpet, so glad I said yes to him because its really fun, I'm also at the point where I'm able to play double G's which is also really fun and cool
i started playing trumpet because my middle school band when practicing sounded nice and amazing and i thought band would be fun, and i ask the teacher and showed me how to play the instrument i wanted the trumpet one day i'll make a video about this
Lol I started just from joining band lol I love the loud instruments and I love playing loud and high notes
I saw Maynard and i was like bruuuuhhhh 😍
This guy has swag
I started playing the trumpet because well in 5th grade I did band and I chose it because it had the least valves and I have a cornet
I love playing high and loud
I started playing the trumpet because i had to for school but now i dont know what my life would be like without it
I played trumpet because I registered in my school like 3 weeks late and wanted to do band. They automatically assigned me to Trumpet. I've been playing for many years now and i'm pretty good at it. I'm in the WS at my Highschool this year and i'm proud they chose it for me.

What mouthpiece do you use on your pocket trumpet?

My favorite trumpet player is Chet Baker.

I made all 7 and I started playing because I wanted to learn trumpet
Has anyone else played a piccolo trumpet before? It’s so much fun, especially if you’re great at high notes, unlike me.
Bruh I just saw and met Terrel Stafford! OMG HE’S THE REALEST G!!

I get the question why do u carry 8 mouthpieces around all the time But it is like a prerequisite to the trumpet
I started playing in 5th grade when the school forced everyone to play trumpet but after one class period (keep in mind I was in 5th grade) I found out I was the only one who could hit a high C in the school. Now I play for fun and play for a marching band.
I totally digged those trumpets in the Glenn Miller band. And the trombones, but a trumpet was cheaper.
My boyfriend's highest note is the G way above the staff. The one that the bluecoats guy hit in his solo.

You are a lucky woman 😉
im not fully a real trumpet player but I love playing the instrument even if I can't play certain songs I just know to keep on trying
