  • I head to Stonethwaite at the head of the Borrowdale valley in the North West of the Lake District. On the hunt for a secret bothy near Woof Stones. I also visit Blackmoss Pot and run Rosthwaite Fell and Thornythwaite Fell.

The visitors note from Washington was from me no joke and I’m having a son to so the plan is definitely coming together 😂

Enjoyed. Never known how to pronounce these fells 😅 You do make me chuckle. Glaramara is a never ending journey. Defo avoid the steep descent into Seathwaite with that knee. You could explore for weeks all the paths up on that fell.

Shame the refuge is well known now, I’ve not been back since I cleared broken glass and rubbish up at my last visit, the other entrance is fascinating.

Nice sheep, in my time I’ve proposed to several Lakeland sheep, no luck as yet but maybe one day my dream will come true…..
Langstrath is great except for the path being made of ankle breaking rocks about the size of tennis balls. I recommend toasted teacakes in the little cafe at the bottom of the valley but last time I had them was about 1983 so don’t know if that’s still a thing.
