  • Crinkle Gill for some reason had not been on my to do list.
After a search, I found not only had I not done it, but it was one of the longest scrambles.
So despite as I mentioned in the film's intro, originally plans were made to go to Wales and climb the Clogwen Person Arete. A very top end scramble of grade 3s. We decided to try a gill scramble of just grade 1.
    But was it any good?
Its a very long enjoyable route to the Crincles. Taking in some gorge type scenery, adding in potential for many little scrambles. Although its graded 1, there are defiantly some pitches you can add some sport up to 2, maybe even a few 3 moves, but all avoidable.
So in answer to my question. Is this the BEST easy gill scramble?
I've no idea!! But it's got to be on the list, and I'd recommend to anyone. great length, fantastic scenery.
Hope you enjoy this vid. Its a quiet route worth exploring if you love to get off the main paths.
Stay safe out there and as always. Like and comment, its great to hear from you.
    John

Only done afew ghylls.. But it makes for an interesting ascent.. Loving boulder hopping, and rock hopping, scrambling and seeing bedrock... And being amongst the grooves in the landscape certainly takes one away from the well formed Lakeland trails. Excellent this, thanks, hopefully get back out this year, and back to one of the only things that make me feel alive.

Thanks for the comment. Yes I've done lots of Gills in the Lakes. It's a very different experience to doing a normal hike up a hill or ridge. I love it. This one felt really long and enjoyable 👍 hoping to film more scrambles this year 😎

@@MountainManJohnFilms Brilliant stuff I'll watch out for them. It's really cool to be able to watch videos like this... Especially not getting out myself for awhile. Infact the last I did was the Browny Cove Gill, is it(next one along)used it as an approach to Pike o Blisco after visiting Thorneythwaite Force. Thanks for sharing, and inspiring too. Nice one John. Glad you enjoyed it. It was a bit different for me being on my own, filming and carrying camping gear. Had to be a bit more cautious. Wouldn’t want to get injured and need help in there. ATB - Dave
