Hiro; your technique was phenomenal here for someone who doesn't fish for Tuna very often. You kept the line tight and with consistent pressure on the fish, that ensures the hook doesn't fall out if it has created a large hole in the tuna's mouth. 8/10, am impressed by your performance.
Hanapaa! Omedetou Hiro! A catch of a lifetime with many wonderful friends. Bryan you rock... always doing great things with Hiro and Charles. Thank you Charles for filming these wonderful videos.. great editing!!
Hey Hiro I enjoyed this video ,,,,,back 40 yrs ago I fished down left San Diego to Gulf of Mexico to catch bluefish tuna caught it and weighted 22lbs Brought it home cut pieces I put olive oil so that won’t be so dry . I grilled these fillets they were so good and very fresh . Awesome team work you guys down there 🙌🏻
We love Hero and you as well. I met him at the supermarket and I was so happy to meet him. When I approached him, I didn’t know how he was going to react. I thought as I got closer to him, he was going to pull out a samurai sword or any weapon and ask me to leave him alone, but on the contrary, he is the sweetest Pearson I’ve ever met . I asked him if I could take a picture together and he said yes.I’ll cherish it for ever. God bless you guys always.
dear hiro, i remember when you went fishing and you were seasick. please tell me if the conditions were different or if you have a remedy for seasickness. thank you everyone for what you do.
Seasickness was the worst when I went tuna fishing for the first time. The schedule was to leave around 8:00 on Friday night and return to the port on Sunday morning. I will spend the night on the sea. It was fine when the ship was moving. but I felt sick during the night when it was moored, and did not recover until I returned to port. However, this time, the schedule was to leave in the morning and return in the evening, and the ship was equipped with a device to prevent swaying. Thanks to that, I was able to fish comfortably.。!
He did a great job though, see how he was cranking as the rod was starting to go back to straight and then stopping as it bent down hard? That keeps the pressure of the hook fairly consistent and stops it from falling out of the fish's mouth. You couldn't hope for any better with a newbie on the rod 💪
That was an excellent fish & Nice job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It's a whole lot different when you have to catch them on rod & reel. You see why people use nets for bulk fishing.
Chef Hiro-San, you, Chef Frank Proto (ProtoCooks, and an Institutes of Culinary Education Instructor - ICE) and Epicurious all posted today. My comment about these channels got a HIGHLIGHTED comment from Chef Frank Proto. Congrats on the fish. Can't wait to see what you cook with it. Much love and prayers to you and yours from somewhere near Seattle. ⚘ 🙏❤🙏 ⚘
This video was ruined because of those damn hinges on that door. I was responsible for installing those on a solid built boat and it took me 2 months to adjust those stiff bastards. I can't tell you how hard it was to come to the solve but I did it... you would have to pay me to do it for you. BTW I am a master carpenter for Jarrett bay.
That fish fed a 50 person party the next day and was used the next 3 days at the Sushi Chef Institute where everything you make you eat. Trust me it was sustainably harvested every last part🙏
@@bryanmock6763 That was so awesome to see. Nothing is never wasted specially a treasure like that. Hiro San would never allow any part of that prize fish go to waste.
Never has anything positive to say. Who cares if he has a belly. If you listen and pay attention to what he said he said around 220 and not 220 exactly. He does lots of wonderful tasting all over and has been traveling a lot lately. He does normally go to the gym and walk daily.

Hiroyuki looks like he needs to stick with making the fish, not catching, lol. You could also put in a warning, some people might not be happy about seeing a fish dispatched like that with a knife. And that fish should have been gutted right after being caught and iced down.

It was kinda sad to see the fish die :(
Did you cry?

Not exactly a lot of effort on Hiro's part.
I really wanted to see it get cut up and eaten. Lol
It’s better if you kill it faster…
My 6'5" ex husband weighed 220 lbs. Hiro looks like he's pregnant with his belly leaning against the boat.
🤣 🥵 🤣
Why? Body shame.

It wasn't a knife it was a spike and it was immediately gutted, gilled and into an ice slurry all done humanely I was there. Thank you🙏

Disgusting to see. Bluefin tuna is endangered specie. People should not do this
