OK this might sound cringey but... Me and my friend like to pretend that we're teens by putting my makeup on. She isn't allowed makeup or a phone, and you'd be surprised at how a tiny bit of makeup and playing on my phone can cheer her up. Her parents won't let her use makeup or a phone until she is in high school, so she loves being able to experience these things which her parents relate to teens only.
I still have my old expressions lipglosses actually at one point me and this one girl in third grade would discuss a day before which flavor we would take the next day so we could match since we both owned them
Now kids in middle school use like freaking $40 eye shadow pallets and $30 lipsticks, thing is they put it in on almost every day (not including me) and somehow through some sorcery they don't look horrible.

Bubble Yum lip smackers, Bonne Bell glosses, Hershey's Kiss lip balms... it was such a fun gift to receive as an 11 year-old. This video reminded me so much of that moment, so thank you! In protest, me and my guy friends walked around between classes and if a teacher walked by the guys would point at me and shout 'so distracting' because that was their reasoning.
I was never allowed to pluck my eyebrows or wear makeup until this one time in 7th grade when we had to do group videos for an assignment in one of my classes. When we were done filming and the teacher showed the class all of the videos my unibrow showed up on camera under the crappy lighting so dark. Luckily I had bangs that I could hide my eyebrows with for the rest of the day (the uni wasn’t too noticeable unless you looked for it) and in the video I had on a fake mustache so most people thought the unibrow was intentional. I got home and my mom let me start to pluck my brows. I was still banned from makeup though.

My thing in middle school was Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers in Dr Pepper. It was like Chapstick, but fatter and on a piece of string, so you could wear it around you neck like a necklace. Another thing I really recall is wearing Love's Baby Soft perfume. 1977-1980 (yes, I'm old)
It's honestly so refreshing and nice to hear adults say that middle school is difficult. Some of my teachers say it's not that difficult or I have nothing to be stressed about so this felt really nice.
Wolf Space don’t listen to those teachers when they say that. They are comparing their adult stressors to your stressors and that isn’t fair. Adult stressors are very different and (hopefully) adults are a little better equipped and have less hormone fluctuations than middle school and high school aged people. I’m old (35, almost 36) and I remember how hard middle school was when I was going through it. Kids are MEAN, especially at that age grouping, and there’s more pressure to be popular and trendy than any other time in your life. You will get through it, though, and hopefully remember how you felt if you ever become a parent and your kids are going through that stress. Just remember to breathe!

It's honestly so refreshing and nice to hear adults say that middle school is difficult. Some of my teachers say it's not that difficult or I have nothing to be stressed about so this felt really nice.
Wolf Space don’t listen to those teachers when they say that. They are comparing their adult stressors to your stressors and that isn’t fair. Adult stressors are very different and (hopefully) adults are a little better equipped and have less hormone fluctuations than middle school and high school aged people. I’m old (35, almost 36) and I remember how hard middle school was when I was going through it. Kids are MEAN, especially at that age grouping, and there’s more pressure to be popular and trendy than any other time in your life. You will get through it, though, and hopefully remember how you felt if you ever become a parent and your kids are going through that stress. Just remember to breathe!
