    I'm finishing up this hat and already plotting the next one because I made it fory friend and now I have to have one. It's so beautiful. I used a mint/sea green and white Caron simply soft. It's seriously beautiful. Thank you

    0:37 chain 30 slip stitch to join chain 2
    Dc into same space
    Dc into each space total 30
    Slipstich into 1st dc, chain 2
    1:38 first row front post dc + 2dc
    4:48 end of first row
    5:17 row 2: front post dc + 3 dc
    7:32 repeat row 2 for total of 10 times start dc row ,
    8:33 front post dc for 2 rows
    Then slipstitch to join
    Then weave in ends.

      Hi @@LittlejohnsYarn - I've got close to finishing other things but this was the first project that I actually managed to complete - I liked the challenge of learning how to work it and it was a small enough project for me to get to the end of - thank you! I've been feeling so much better about crochet since I did actually manage to finish something!

    I have done about 4 rows of the 10. It looks very flat and I wonder if using a thicker yarn ruins the elasticity.

      Just skip the chain and start the second row around the hair tie

    Can I ask a question? It may sound dumb but what is the difference between worsted weight yarn and a medium 4 weight yarn? I thought it was the same thing, but I am starting to think it's not. Is one thicker?

    I loved your instructions, although maybe I looked at the wrong pattern you linked because it was a bit different than what you said in the video. But either way I enjoyed the tutorial and thank you for teaching me a new project !!

      No you looked at the correct pattern link. I just changed the way the brim looked. from my previous tutorial. The video looked at is the updated version. I'm so glad that you like it.

    I love this pattern but I just cant get it to be large enough for the average adult head of 21-22 inches. I am using a 5.5 hook and not crocheting tightly. It's just too narrow although I adore the spiraling pattern.

    This is so cute. I'm a little confused about the 10 rows. Do I increase one for each row. Mine is not getting wider 😳3rd row: FP, 3 dbl cr. All the way around 4th row: FP, 4 dbl cr " " " " 5th row FP, 5 dbl cr all the way around for each row? Please respond, asap... I'm working on it now🙏🏽

    How would I alter this in the beginning by adding a scrunchie at the beginning and crocheting around it?

      Cool Crafty Creations just don't do u beginning chain. SC 30 around scrunchie in replace of chain. Or 30 Dc into the scrunchie whichever looks better

    So when doing the rows that are not shown, am I supposed to keep skipping all of the stitches in between the fpdc and the 3 DC in the first space by fpdc?

      Yes For the additional rows, You will front Post in the previous row'e front post, three double crochets right next to that. Then skip the next previous row's three double crochets. Then repeat by starting with a front post again

      Sorry late to respond. Start the hat row 1: Mr, 12Dc row 2: Fpdc, Dc. Row 3: fdc, 2dc Row4: Fpdc, 3dc. Then continue on with the Pattern e

      Add more double crochets increases in between your post stitches. You may want to drop down a hook size to compensate for the extra stitches

      Brenda F it may be the brand yarn size. I use Caron One pound. It is a thicker worsted weight yarn. So my hat was big

      1st row is ch 30, row 2 is Fpdc, 2dc in next. Row 3 is Fpdc, 3 dc in next. You repeat that for ten rows. You are only Fpdc in previous dc Fpdc. The third row is the last decrease. if it is still small make another increasing row. example Row 4: Fpdc, 4 dc in next. You would repeat that row for 9-10 times
