Lyrics:
And we'll walk down the avenue again
And we'll sing all the songs from way back when
And we'll walk down the avenue again and the healing has begun
And we'll walk down the avenue in style
And we'll walk down the avenue and we'll smile
And we'll say baby ain't it all worthwhile
When the healing has begun
I want you to put on your pretty summer dress
You can wear your Easter bonnet and all the rest
And I wanna make love to you yes, yes, yes
When the healing has begun
When you hear the music ringin' in your soul
And you feel it in your heart and it grows and grows
And it comes from the backstreet rock & roll and the healing has begun
That is where It comes from
I want you to put on your pretty summer dress
You can wear your Easter bonnet and all the rest
And I wanna make love to you yes, yes, yes
And the healing has begun
We're gonna make music underneath the stars
We're gonna play to the violin and the two guitars
We're gonna sit there and play for hours and hours when the healing has begun
(Spoken:)
Wait a minute, listen, listen
I didn't know you stayed up so late
I just got home from a gig and I saw
You standing on the street
Just let me move on up to this window-sill a lot yeah
I got some sherry
You want a drop of port
Let's move behind this door here
Let's move on up behind this letter-box behind this door
Let's go in your front room
Let's play this Muddy Waters record you got there
If you just open up a little bit
And let me ease on in this backstreet jellyroll
We're gonna stay out all night long
And then we're gonna go out and roam across the field
Baby you know how I feel when the healing has begun
When the healing, when the healing
We're gonna stay out all night long
We're gonna dance to the rock & roll
When the healing when the healing has begun
Baby just let me ease on a little bit, dig this backstreet jellyroll Видеоклипы
If this song isn’t played at my funeral I’m not going.
Eternity awaits you
😂😂😂
I completely agree !
Incredible song
Ditto 😂
l have never heard a bad song from Van. His music makes me fall in love with the loves of my life all over again. I am 68 years old. He keeps my soul young. I wish everyone could feel what I feel whenever I listen to his music
STEHEN MAN WE ALL FEEL BLESSED TRULY
Indeed...Sir.
Absolutely! This one inspired me to write to an old love, just to say... hello. Van the man!
Fall for the loves of your life again each and every one of them much love elder
Van’s done a lot of rubbish, but this isn’t!
For the ones who stayed
For the ones who left
And for all the ones who have lost.
#Belfast
❤️🌠🙏
Toni Marcus on violin deserves a standing ovation. I never tire of hearing those exquisite sounds!
Yes, yes… yes! 😊
Same reaction...it's a masterpiece
Agreed.
I feel the same. It is transcendent!
Incredible ❤❤❤❤❤❤
the guitars, the piano, the hammond organ, the drums, the violins.......the violins, the violins and the genius....i wish it could experience it live...
I did once, he had a 4 piece string section that didn’t play when he played this song. They just sat there on stage. Van can be difficult.
Me too …. Every time I listen to this song I feel like that! 🌠
I remember listening to "Enlightenment" over twenty eight years ago. I said to myself, 'Some day I'm gonna chop that wood, carry water'. Three years later I built a log cabin in the woods, I carry my own water and I chop wood. It's there that I hear that sound of One Hand Clapping.
😂
I can't stand myself...
Who in our lifetime can compare to Van the Man.
Answer..NO ONE
You are correct! ❤🎶💚
At the end of the film Belfast, when showing the credits, this song was played. So moving! Such a great song, thank you Van!
That's awesome! And hearing that many will look for the album, and the singer, who never knew Van Morrison.
Yes :)
Yes… I was glued to my chair hearing that song at the end. So perfect.
Just watched Belfast on Amazon and they cut that off in the middle! Wtf?? I screamed at the screen!
Only morons would do that! 🤨
One of his masterpieces ! The violins are incredible !
If you're looking for the definition of musical genius - just say Van Morrison !
it's just one violin & one viola played by the same man...
agreed.
@@stichtingraspoetin8495 Toni Marcus is a beautiful woman.
One of his best tunes! This one brings tears!
The fiddles and the lyrics are top notch!
It took me 30 years of misery to learn to love myself,
this song reminds me to not beat myself up when im having a tough day, im still healing,
I cant change the world. i cant change the people places or things in it.
I can change myself. change how I feel, change how I act, and react.
shine on you gorgeous people Be proud of yourself radiate bliss.xx
Hey Al, good to hear from ya. You summed it all up there bro. Half of all the battles in life are against yourself, if you can get past that, you can be your best self. And when you have songwriters like Van the Man, you will never be alone on your journey, peace my brother.
@Albert Einstein. Good for you & thank you for the encouragement b
Figuring ourselves out is like reading a great novel but we don’t know how it’s going to end, just that there’s twists and turns and ups and downs and more and more healing and strength and finally acceptance of ourselves. It’s terrifying but wonderful all at once.
Hey Albert. You may not be able to change your circumstances, but you can always be able to change your attitude
@@Mike-bg4gf 100% shine on brother shine on.
I bet this song has done a lot of healing. Thank you, Van.
Amen, Plato! 1957 was a great year...✌
When the healing has begun, going to stay all night long, back street jelly road
A beautiful anthem for recovery.
This is probably the greatest song of all time. I love Van Morrison amazing song.
greatest viola solo in rock history
He's just at another level than everyone else. That's why we love him
Belfast brought me here.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” -- Rev. 21:4
Yes, and everything has become new! God Bless!
Amen!
I still love this in 2023. The healing has begun and is close to completion!
One of the multiple masterpieces Van has given us - he never fails to lift my mood & his music always leaves me feeling I've been in the presence of greatness
'I can't stand myself'
Side 2 of “Into The Music” is probably the greatest 32 minutes of music you’ll ever hear
The thoughts of the Rolling Stone reviewer at the time of the LP's release.
Likely Van’s best Side 2 fuh shu.
I often send my 29yo son titles to listen to on his lunch hour, this one is today. He didn't want to be a VM fan, but it has happened.
This masterpiece stirs my soul - the violins and the whole authenticity is overwhelmingly brilliant
Same here man, same here.
Everytime I listen to this I cry with joy.
The violin solo! The violin!! Soooooo good! Aaarrrgh....so good!! Dizzy.
no doubt this is Van's masterpiece.
El Cortijo one of them indeed
I think he has too many masterpieces to pick out one above such a choice of masterpieces.
@@martinmcdonald4207 Sometimes you feel like there is something so "central" in one of his masterpieces... And at any rate there is something very "central" in this one... But when we think of In the garden, Take me back, Common one... Center, Love and Life are there too, at such a high degree !
I am with you
This song does heal I'm an example of such I have had 3 back surgeries n staph infection n all of Van's music healed me in my soul hes the best
Van the Man....what else can you say. First heard him when he was with Them, I was just 12 or 13and he and he/they blew my mind. And he hasn't stopped yet, probably never will.
This world seems to want to turn us all into cynics but Van makes me love life. How could you not when you hear a song like this?
Wee Irish legend. Van Morrison you are truly a sense of wonder.
that's the truth Van has that blues going on , always knows how to express him self . love this , very low key. and beautiful ,especially someone like you.
He's Northern Irish. But you're not wrong apart from that.
He is Irish...oh my word
@@saharasante1116 Yes God has many Irish in the arts to reach the yearning souls seeking wisdom and joy.
When ya are Healing it's like a broken heart that ya know ya will never live again the days ya heal life is like soothing warm rain when ya finally heal life is Warm Summer Sun on Your Face Thank ya Van for this Soothing Healing song ❤️❤️❤️
I never tire of this song. I think because of the violin and the piano, this may just be the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard! I agree with Matt about having this played at funeral services...
It's because IT IS the most beautiful music ever recorded.
Agreed… so beautiful I can’t even contain the feeling it gives me!
Perfect flawless excellent superb magnificent marvelous
Outstanding Performance
Ah The Man. With the wee short legs. And a love for God and sweet things. Loved how he so exuberantly kicked his legs up in The Last Waltz. His performance there was magnificent. Cypress Avenue. A line from L’etranger, Camus wot a guy too. Footballer or Baller as Amy W would say and one of the best French writers ever! After Emile Zola why, bien entendue. That line - les lignes de Cypres…. I think that’s just about right. I’ll put on my Easter bonnet boy.
Who remembers him in Lisdoonvarna in the early eighties with Katie Kissoon in the backing group? Magic times ...the best of times!
This song has saved me many times inmy 56 years thank you
Van Morrison sings from his soul to our souls, he's a "heartbreaker"
This is Real Music .....
And a soul quencher
VAN IS THE VERRY BESTTT!!!!!!!!!
Amen, Sister Jackie.
Very true, he does sing to our souls Jackie Povitsky, he's been singing to me since I was 14 or 15. My oldest sister was the one who first started me listening to Van Morrison. I'm now 48. Long time fan!!
As I get older I appreciate his music so much more
Dang this is absolutely far out when ya finally get satisfied in your body and let go of all the junk that keeps ya tied up this is the sound ya hear like a slow moving day with the river in your ear
What an album
What a song
Thank you Van the man
THERE is No Such Thing As A Bad Song 4rom The Man.
Just watched “Belfast” on HBO, this is the exit song.
Love me some Van Morrison. About 5 decades now. August 2022
a poet, that always warms my soul.
Just about the most stunning musical composition ever written. Just a beautiful tune.
I agree it’s astonishing
For hours, and hours, and hours, and hours…… never enough hours to listen, listen, to Van😍
What do you admire most about Van
@@MarcosBryant-lj8ziHis ability to cross into so many music genres and be on top in all of ”them” 😉.
His musicality, voice, song-writing and composing.
The only other artist that is as successfully versatile like him is Elvis Presley.
And the hourß
I'm impressed AGAIN and AGAIN!!!!!❤😌
We played this song on my sons funeral.
Hi Ton...so sorry for your loss. Can't imagine that. I have a son who is 7 years old now. Can't imagine losing him. My heart reaches to yours. If I could take the pain away I would. I can't imagine it. Blessings on you.
My condolences
Ton...I can’t imagine your pain and loss..may God comfort you and all the angels...wish I could take the pain away. Know that the love lasts eternally and is never lost.
Ton,
When my parents lost my twin brother from suicide and my younger brother from a bullet, I saw the pain. I don't think the healing either took place, no not for me anyways. My parents are gone now . I pray your healings begun.
@TheHumanSpeciesIsAPlague NotMeantToBeInExistence It is perfect for a funeral. How is it creepy?
I wish I had this in the jungles of Vietnam. For real.
the healing did truly begin after my divorce thanks to this music ,love the Van .
THIS is what makes it all worth while ... fo sure 💝
Thank You for this song dear Van Morrison.
A brilliant song definitely in his top 5
Absolute legend
Bass and drums on this are great. Some lovely fills from both. Holding it all in place. Sweet song. Van's vocal, as ever, expressive and evocative as only he can do.
Technical critique? Why? I don't search for a mathematically harmonious series of notes, virtuoso playing, or the perfect voice - I search for feeling. This song of Van's is music at it's heart wrenching, stomach tightening, tear wrenching, best. It brings tears to my eyes when I sing along. Not many songs do that. I hope that you felt it as well.
Belfast soundtrack 😎🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🙏🎸👍
...Back Street ..Jelly Roll.....indeed
It seems that for the phases of life I’m experiencing at different times, a Van Morrison song pops up to help me through it! Amazing…
“The Healing Has Begun,” my new VM favorite song.

The Belfast blues hasn't quite recovered from the religious debacle but the healing has begun...
and what if the healing has just begun when you first have heard this song?
Tonight 56 years old man. I've already heard it 5 times!!! so powerful.
Yes may the healing begin. Love this song and everything thing this man sings.❤️

Oh my, timeless and exquisite. Thank God for Van Morrison.
Judith Dench, broke my ❤ in the ending scene of Belfast!
This is up for an Oscar, but I didn’t realise it was an old song! Beautiful. Great film
All Van Morrison's Songs Are Masterpieces.
Buetifull. How can one man be so gifted.?
Love this song by.van listen to it every night before bed very talented man van the man❤❤
This song is amazing. Me and Catherine used to listen to Van all the time while smoking topless on every Greek beach we could find. Became expert at lighting cigarettes in gale force winds under sarongs, using each other’s hands, etc. Then she’d divert to Bowie and I’d go find Bob.
Sounds fun 🤩🥳
A maestro with absolutely NO bad music.
None I'm a rabid fan for 20 plus years I want to hear him on my death bed
I keep looking, for someone in the younger generation, who that can match the talent that Van Morrison brought to us back in the late 60's. J.
John Mayer isn't there yet, but he's good. I wish there was more "Blowing You're Mind" type songs out there- not that there's anything wrong with this song. I just like Van's blues best.
The Belfast blues has yet to truly recover from the religious debacle but the healing has began
TWO WORDS-JASON ISSBEL
THATS ISBELL SORRY CHECK HIM OUT !!!
Will never happen!
Oh Lord Oh Lord Thank ya for the HEALING Great song✌❤
Truly a heart breaker & healer in one. Tears flow, as the 'soul touches' come in wave after wave, the violin cresendo's peaking another wave, the organ raising me up higher and higher, if god meant for us to draw near and nigh to him through music, he sent us Van Morrison to take us to heavenly places. Thank you Van, you may never know and understand your gifts, but in those immortal words: "a man shall be known by his works"... As you are known to me
He made me the person I am. I am the queen of slipstream and still waiting my VM ♥️
Lejla hodzic...WOW WOW WOW !!!
This appeared on my RUclips playlist. Magical! Thank you Mr Morrison!
I love him
I love him too❤️
What an absolutely amazing song.
Today. This song came back to me again ❤️🩹💚🤍
He's the only one that has the privillege to use the word "healing".
damn.
Who can outperform this soul stirring song. I can’t stand myself. Oh my, Van, you are so good. I love you. Rave on! ❤
This song reminds me of the Peace treaty finally made between Northern and Southern Ireland. Great song at the end of the movie Belfast.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ God bless you & yours, Van!

Beautiful. Heard it on the film Belfast(2021).
Like listening to the man himself with his music like this one with my ' Bose ' ears , every day during this crazy days. Stan.
Only your touch will heal me… something like that. Must be a song in that. A drop of port would be ok. I could take you to the Port. Portstewart or Portrush. Or both. Near each other. Took my dad to Portstewart March 2018. Made him get out of the car for a photo. He was very happy to do so. In the drizzly rain. A fabulous photo with the Catholic Girls Convent on the rock behind him. He looked fabulous. We had such a fun day. He was almost 90 then. X
Van is a genuis..when i am dying please somebody play this musuc to send me into the afterlife..❤
There is only one Big V. Viva the music and memories of Van Morrison AKA The Belfast Cowboy!
