Words cannot adequately express my gratitude as I had no idea how to get the top nut off of the coil to get the spring off as I had to redo the coils and coil over myself because my mechanic refused to do it correctly the way the instructions said. Thank you very much for the assistance

Thank you so much for creating this video. I mistakenly removed the nut and retaining washer on the top of the gas piston when I was just trying to remove the strut assembly. Luckily there were no injuries, but your video helped me understand how to reassemble the dang thing.

Going to have to do this on my 97 Firebird due to leaning heavily on passenger side.

might want to update the video and use shop towel, at least double or triple folded, to clamp down on the shock rod during that part of the disassembly procedure. That way, you are not damaging the main shock shaft/rod surface.

That was mentioned in the video.

I followed EXACTLY this procedure but the spring is not straight when I released the compressor. of course I watched the the spring was properly located on the two caps at its end. Any clue?

Is it similar for most struts?

I'm trying to use the same compressor I'm renting from Autozone on my Jeep Commander. Unfortunately, between the coil diameter (large) and the short distance between coils, I can't get two compressors installed on the spring. Do you have any suggestions?

Buy a quick strut and be done with it.

Sounds like something is loose or didn't seat properly. Best to jack up the effected wheel and then check for any play.
