Max totally deserves this. Only 1660 days between WR singles. 3.13 is just insane
1660 days is a lot and it is INSANE
this record was so unexpected
It was also a pretty big jump from 3.47 at a 0.34 second jump.
Considering it's Max, it really isn't. I really thought Yiheng was going to get it this year, but I'm glad Max got it since I really wanted him to get it.
This comment is so wrong that in cringing
Wait wat? I had no idea he got it...
UNEXPECTED
not really lol
With a jump this big I can't believe 2.xx is actually looking like it could happen within a few years
A lot of cubers have done it, but not in comp. Sooner or later we will have a sub 3 WR
I guess in 3 years
It will. And sub-4 averages are coming a little later too. I don't want to hear the naysayers. I've been hearing "yeah okay but this time we know better and have finally hit a barrier for real" since sub-8. Sub-4 averages are absolutely possible.
6 months max
You could call it a sub-3
First, also, Max Park is insane. 3.13 is very good, even at home, so it's crazy this happened. Your world record prediction video was only a week away, so even if the prediction seemed like there would be no way, it was almost correct.
If I remember correctly, 3.47 was back-sune into PLL skip. Now it's a back-fatsune into PLL skip. Really makes you wonder about the viability of alternate angle algs to save AUFs.
Yeah it was back sune.
Absolutely insane how Yusheng Du's record stood for 5 years. I was very active in the community when he set it, but after leaving for some time, I expected it to have been lowered multiple times to even under 3 seconds. Under 4 seconds truly is a legendary task that few have done officially.
I watched this because I thought I’d understand how to solve a cube, and now I’m more confused and in awe.
Don't feel too bad. I have known how to solve a cube since I was a kid using the beginner method. I still can't comprehend how people get this good. I am presently trying to learn CFOP and there are a combined 16 different algorithms I need to memorize to do the beginner friendly 2-look OLL/PLL (the 2 steps required to solve the last layer). The advanced single-look version of CFOP has a combined 78 different algorithms you have to memorize for OLL/PLL.
@@Drazil100I have spent 12 years solving cubes and have used CFOP for most of that time and I still don't think I ever had every OLL and PLL alg remembered at once. I almost always struggled with identifying the G-Perms as well as a bunch of the OLLs while solving and have used a hybrid of 2 look and full CFOP. Shits hard man. I peaked at a 13.7 second PLL skip and can't be bothered trying to get any better. I just stick with my janky "3 Look" method and don't bother timing myself anymore, I just do it kill time or keep my brain active.
@@cameronprior1144 Took me a full day of nonstop solving but I managed to learn 2 look... Now I just need to do it enough that it becomes second nature and I can start attempting to learn single look. Any recommendations on what to start with when I get there?
@@cameronprior1144 lol same exactly for me. Got a 12.5 best at home and can’t be bothered to improve. But DGCubes, a cuber RUclipsr, was once asked “has speedcubing given helped you in life at all?” He said no, other than learning Multi Blind because it helps so much with memorizing things in the real world, apparently. I don’t think non-blind cubing is actually good for your brain. It’s literally just recognition and muscle memory. There’s very little actual “thinking” involved. You’d be better off trying to solve many hard math problems or reading something to stimulate your brain.
@@Drazil100 definetly start with PLL, 2 look OLL can be done very fast as setting up the yellow cross usually only takes 6 moves, 2 look PLL takes up way more time compared to OLL + PLL only has 21 algs compared to the 57 (?) from OLL so its easier to learn as well
Insane execution! Great breakdown too!😁
I have a group chat with a bunch of cubers. And when the record was broken, the whole group went crazy!
I was the judge and the table was shaking like 150+ people were gathered around and so many phones and it was crazy
@@focusfrets3668 You are the judge! woooooooow! crazy and memorable day in your life!!
@@focusfrets3668 that's your cubing career highlight right there.
@@focusfrets3668 that's insane
@@focusfrets3668 wow, being the judge of such a historic solve is crazy. I cannot imagine judging the wr! Truly insane!
So cool that you make predictions like that!!!
Wow, that's so exciting! Way to go, Max!
Nice, now I can quit cubing forever and still know the 3x3 Wr single time
Wait until it is beaten again 😅
@@samueljehanno this is gonna take ages to break
Tymon and yiheng wang be like
@@baakawarrior not this time, we're in a age where we have a lot of good cubers and we've never had so many sub4 singles, I beat someone is gonna break it this year or in the first half of 2024
@@unnamedchannelowouwu I mean its possible, but I highly doubt it. I don't doubt that Tymon and Yiheng are likely to break the previous 3.47 wr very soon, but this is a big jump for a single. For the record to be broken soon it would literally have to be like a stackmat pb5 for one of the top 5 cubers in the world. I think this one stands for longer than the previous one, but I would love to be proven wrong
Great vid!
The best solution Ive seen from max so far
I'm always happy to see cubing records with clever solutions. I'm so bad at planning that most of my planned xcrosses end up in mediocre times because it's too much for my poor head to hold :)
Do you know which cube Max used? Was it the Tornado?
its the tornado v3 flagship
@@thewhiterook1010 nice, thanks!
Yeah, a lot of the time that I make a seemingly complicated xx-cross or something, it ends up taking too long and is an average time solve 😝
THE BEST YEAR OF SPEEDCUBING!!
When the WR is 3.13 but the length of the video is 3.12
Absolutely insane and amazing!
IM HERE FOR THIS MOMENT
He has done it. Boys, he has done it
History has been made! Some of us probably knew that Max would beat the record, but oh wow isn’t 3.13 a pretty neat number.
for sq-1 adj corner parity, hold the block on the right and do /(3,0)/(3,0)(2,0) and then finish like normal edge parity alg
Hey cube master check the first story of you saying to predict the wr and I said 3.13 Max Park what an insane prediction
I found it damn that was accurate
I want a video of max park explaining what he saw in inspection and if he saw the xxcross and the free pair
Fun fact his solution is 1 move better than my FMC PR single
Guys notice the length of the video.
Thanks for the video. Solving the cube looks so easy now...😳😐😕
Do you know if anyone found the same solution? I saw someone in the round got a 5.1 PR.
Damn this is so crazy
Phenomenal!
Insane, well deserved :)
I['m gonna cry I can't believe it just happened
Solving edge and corner during the cross how much it will make us save? It is really that convenient?
By the time I reached 3.13 on this scramble I only had the cross and first pair. Max is insane
i woke up this morning and BOOM. new world record
just a random question, how do you tell if a sq1 is white or yellow top?
I did not expect this but I knew that it would be either max tymon or yiheng
I got 5.41 on the scramble and found the same solution, took me 20 minutes to downsolve to 3.91 I have no clue how anyone gets 3.13 first try with comp nerves
and I over here don't get how you get 5.41
finally im not surprised
Just saw it on the news, I am so proud of him.
always thought it would be a Chinese man
I have never been so confused by someone explaining something so clearly to me in english. My goodness lmao
3.134 is just 0.00759... seconds off perfection.
just crazy
what cube is that you are using
This world record will take a long time to beat
2:52 where did you post it? btw good explanation
Membership community tab, I promise I didn't change it since then :)
No way. way to go max
But I can't see his record on WCA page(
man that so pog
YES!! he finally did it!
Good luck to any speed cubers who wants to break this new world record
LES GO ITS DONEEE
Omg that was a very beautiful solution
I like how sevearal cubing RUclipsrs rushed to reconstruct this solve as fast as possible😂
Crazy solve
What totaly unexpected
bro spedran making a quality video
Also he was actually really REALLY close to guessing when we happens
Moyu's entire marketing for ys3m just came tumbling down
Wtf??????? Congrats to Max for the wr that’s insane
double xcross, free pair, easy oll and pll skip. bro is just a god.
I knew Max had it in him
He's getting better at psudo and that scares me with his turn speed...
What was the cube max used?
What cube max used?
I feel like when I am trying to explain organic chemistry to my pooch.
Is the record official? The WCA official webpage has not been updated.
insane
Yusheng du looking that !!!
Crazy
My brain does allow me to calculate this much in 15s😢
This is how I found out about it!
Wich cube did he use?
Look who broke the 3.47 record- after 5 years- MAX PARK. GOAT GOAT GOAT
it finally happened…
Its not updated in world cube association? Cant find another clip of this 313 record?
Edit, just read whole description, the clip is from max Instagram
FINALLY! The world record was broken! An of course it was Max Park! (the GOAT!)
Im looking at the wca rankings and i cant find him as single wr can anyone tell me why is that?
First
Tbh, with so few sub-4s, it was very unlikely that the solve would be just within the 3.4x range, i knew that it would b a big jump, :)
Edit: 3rd :(
3rd
I'm A new cubes so I have never seen a wr THIS IS INSAAAAANNNNEEE
NO ACTUAL WAY
How many moves total did he use in his solution?
33
🤯
you're an astrologist bro 😂
Wow 3.13 unbelievable max is the man big huge giant 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Did Max do the record on his MOYU YS3M or V9???
Tornado V3
why is the video 3:11 not 3:13. now moyu wont have that intro on all of there cubes but it was a great solve
what cube do you use?
Same question…
3.13 wow
What TPS?
holy shit
Amazing solution by max park...But at last F2L pair he could have inserted differently and oriented all of his yellow edges which results in sune case and y perm...but since it wasn't pll skip, congrats to him for solving in that way and getting world record...😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉
It's still not uploaded on WCA!!!! The current time is 11:02 AM GMT
i predicted this video an hour ago lmao
is it official?
what cube did he use lol
It was so loud there
WHATTT
I knew this was coming, first
5th
o WHAT??
